Vinyl Wrap Installation Services In Melbourne
lindz34 replied to Deza3000's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
NIck at Neptune styling, formally known as wrap my ride it's a work colleagues husbands company & he is awesome, major client is monster energy, various race teams & recently did a gt3 prepped amg sls mercedes in....chrome ! was unreal. workmanship is second to none ! google them, used to be based in Blackburn but now in bayswater, if you give him a call say Lindsay sent you & he'll probably look after you -
one of my best mates has a vz sv6 5spd auto & even with his h3kt1k 20" chromies I only get him off the line through the first 2-3 gears but then he pulls away massively haha only other time I've been able to get one up on him is a rolling start in 3rd, but again once his auto box starting building revs he pulled away haha if you're looking for a quick & agile p-plate car, then you can't go past the dc2 & dc5 integra type r's - little pocket rockets ! if you're set on a skyline then don't stress on the power, it's fine for your p's & still able to have a lot of fun & it'll handle a lot better than a commo my 2c
-
I'll have a look there thanks mate ! the test will be whether I have the balls to play with that wiring or not haha
-
it's manual & no doesn't beep in reverse, also it's an n/a so no turbo timer for me haha there's definitely no chime whatsoever I'm guessing my best bet is to take it to an auto-elec, I've got some other electrical issues that need attention like my clock & trip computer resetting every time I turn the car on/off & my alarm system causing many headaches haha thanks for the info guys, appreciated !
-
Hey lads, just a quick question, today for the 3rd time I left my lights on at work & drained my battery....oops. just wondering, most cars either have an auto off function so when you open the door the lights turn off (my old Calais did this) or at least an alarm/chime to remind you. do r34's have this? if they do then obviously mine is buggered, so any help on fixing this would be appreciated if they don't come with anything like that, then maybe I need a post it note on my steering wheel haha cheers fellas !

insurance & petrol would be the main financial differences, can't comment on performance cause I haven't been in an rx. a mate had a peanut eye wrx before his evo, was a nice car to drive (he taught me manual in it) interior was pretty good & the four doors was nice & practical haha I run my n/a on 98, mainly because I have to drive from eastern suburbs to collingwood for work everyday, figured the extra $10 per tank wouldnt hurt seeing as a do a fair few km's so wanna run it on the better stuff.

so much great info ! thanks a lot mitch/terry !

^^ lol hansel, so hot right now, hansel ! yo dan, you got any LED parker lights that match 5000k HID's? my current ones are too blue & it looks tacky against the pure white xenon haha

apologies for hijacking thread, but just wondering if using a clay bar will help get swirl marks out? gave it a polish/wax over the weekend & it helped, but still got some damn swirl marks on the bonnet haha cheers guys !
-
wow really? that's cool haha apologies for my failed attempt at correcting anyway if it helps dude, i have a 2.5" cat back, small 8"x4" centre muffler & x-force varex rear oval muffler (cannons are quite a bit louder than oval shaped) i drive on the freeway every day to & from work, sitting at 100kmph nearly the whole way & it's not an issue drone-wise, never been pulled up by the police for being too loud either. there's a few options that the other guys have pointed out, so i guess it depends what you want, if you still want a nice sounding exhaust then go a centre muffler & if you want it to be more stock then obviously a stock rear muffler. as for brands, my centre is a magnaflow - sounds nice.
-
sorry bud just gonna correct you on this. the factory muffler does not have a butterfly valve nor any sort of system that will do what you described. what you've described is actually like what the HSV VE's "bi-modal" exhaust does, or similar to an x-force varex, which you can either control the valve manually with a remote & im pretty sure on the newer ones you can have it automatically adjust at certain RPM. try somewhere else, there is definitely room for a centre muffler, the stock system has one so no reason why you cant have someone fit one to an aftermarket system. i had the same issue, had a catback installed on my r34 with no centre muffler, it was horrible, i tried a couple of different exhaust shops over a weekend & the all said they can only fit a hotdog resi, so i ended up just booking it in with the guy who intially did it & he had no trouble fitting a small 8"x4" centre. also, no chance of gaining 25-30kw from a cold air + exhaust on an N/A skyline haha

yeah heard pettet has moved out there now, pretty sure it was him that i pulled up next to at the lights, he tailed me for a bit & ran my plates then went & hid in some bushes with the speed camera haha he bent me over my bonnet on new years day this year, tailed me all through knox city car park & then issued me a fine because my indicator clicked off when i was entering a car park, apparantly i "didnt indicate long enough to warn other drivers"....there was no one around :| 2 points & $120 fine, he loved every moment of it haha ill be honest though, he's the best man for the job of prinny !
-
no kidding, came onto the highway off wellington road with a mate & first set of lights pulled up next to a highway patrol car...shat myself haha also saw cr33m, a few 33 gtst's 4 door 34 & a silver 34R !
-
+1 for touch up guys. fixed up some rear fender scrapes on my mates EVO 8 perfectly ! (were fairly deep as well) I'll hopefully be getting the CBD area guy to do my front bar soon while i'm at work
-
oh really? i guess there's just a perception that it costs a lot more than that. i'm also guessing that the more "extreme" the mod is, they more you have to pay to have it engineered?
-
^ or his mumma's pill
-
alright mate, i guess enough is enough haha but on that, i would have thought a post to do with exhaust would have come under "engine mods" because its effectively helping the engine breathe. guess i arked up a fair bit cause it was my first contribution on SAU & i got totally burnt for it lol well thats pretty cool dude , but you gotta admit, there arent too many people out there who can afford/are willing to go to those lengths haha im aware they are illegal, but so is a loud exhaust, the rest of my car is legal, legal height, legal size & width of wheels etc lets leave it at that, cheers guys

yes & how do you know any of us have "china knock off parts" on them? take my car for example, yes i have a varex muffler, as i stated in the OP - it suited my needs. the rest of the exhaust was made up - chinese? no work xd9 wheels - chinese? no tein coilovers - chinese? no. you're comments about naturally aspirated "PERFORMANCE", what does the sub-title say? something along the lines of "for the n/a enthusiasts" which is what we are. ive seen a lot more drivers in turbo skylines doing stupid shit than n/a's. as i said before, you admitted in another thread that you dont have any experience yourself with a varex muffler. of course they arent going to be up to the quality of a kaki or fujitsubo etc, i never once said that. but they are a hell of a lot better than other universal mufflers on the market. couldnt agree with you more. so you are saying you're car is 100% street legal & if a traffic cop inspected it he couldnt fault it? if this is true, then i would honestly be interested to hear about how you went about keeping it street legal. i don't understand how your car has resided to that, i live in the eastern suburbs & work in the city (melbourne), so im on the road ALL the time, & i never have any trouble with police. it doesn't matter what car the person is in, if the driver is a dick, then he/she will drive like one, thats something you cant change & which you'll have to accept, instead of pointing fingers. in the third paragraph you wrote you are once again pointing the finger, there is nothing in this thread to suggest that any of the people posting in this thread act like that. fair enough if you want to make the point proven in a thread that states the obvious, such as the n/a drag race thread - but why bring it up here & flame? i just think its stupid that all these posts have come up from what was essentially a thread about my thoughts & experience with the varex muffler, because like it or not, a lot of people are interested in them. && here come the flame replies hahaa

at any point has anyone in this thread tried to claim that their n/a skyline is the pinnacle of sports cars? I sure as hell have not. read through a fast fours magazine - any mention of lukey parts on feature cars or ads throughout? no. street commodores , street machine etc on the other hand, yes. that's what I meant by targetted. that's really great that you would take a civic over an n/a skyline, how the shit is that relevant? get off your high horse mate.
