  1. I don't know about "a couple of years", it's a high-tech concept car that would be economically unviable, even by supercar standards. I would say the car as a whole won't be produced, but technology from it will filter down into future 911s, etc.
  2. I believe you are thinking of FOCA, the organisation Bernie led from 1978. I believe it was similar to the FOTA we have now.
  3. Ah yes, I work in the Mobil just off Springvale rd
  4. You say he's trying too hard, I say he's trying hard enough. It's an incredibly fine line between a hero move and an accident, and no one will get it right all the time. I think Webber has crashed less than some, and at least a couple of his crashes (I believe Brazil was mentioned?) were in nasty conditions that could have tripped anyone up. Every driver goes through a maturation process. Some do it quicker than others, e.g. Hamilton, who's driven like a veteran almost from day one, and others take longer, or never manage it at all. He's a much wiser driver now than he was in his Williams years, and two wins back-to-back will do him a world of good. I think we will see less of him "trying too hard" and more composed, dominant drives like the last two weeks.
  5. It's absurd. It makes a mockery of the "green flag" finish. I would like to see a gentleman's agreement between the drivers that next time this happens, they slow down to 20 km/h instead of driving over the line at speed, just to make the point that even though the green flag is out, they can't race. It's a sham. Why not finish behind the safety car if they can't pass anyway?
  6. They were better than the alternative. What would you suggest?
  7. Keep seeing a white R33 shortly before 9am on Mitcham Rd. Haven't seen the plates but I'm fairly sure it's the same one every day (I mean, how many white R33s are there? lol)
  8. I think he's finally killed off that black cat. You can only be unlucky for so long. It's been noted before that winning your first race gives you a massive confidence boost. The difference now is that I think Mark is finally seeing himself not only as a race winner, but a potential champion. Even last year I don't think he felt that.
  9. Did that cop who showed up at Arthur's seat actually book anyone, or was he just there to, um, keep the peace?
  10. I think the word is
  11. I'm beginning to believe ... could I see an Aussie F1 champ before I die?
  12. P1 for Webber!!!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :woot: :D
  13. It's a track that rewards experienced drivers and handling over power ... Webber sounds pretty good to me.
  14. Ok, let me clear this up for you. "Rational" means reasonable. "Rationale" means argument. I was trying to say you resort to insults and assumptions instead of calming discussing the merits of different points of view. But you're not listening to me anyway, so never mind.
  15. Wow, I implied all that? Rather than continue this pointless debate I'm going to ignore any future posts about this. FYI "rational" and "rationale" are different words. Look them up.
  16. What the hell? I was just giving an opinion, not laying down a commandment. I wasn't commenting on charli's post. I didn't see what happened or read her post. I'm with you charli. Apparently some people can't grasp the concept of "rational debate".
  17. There's a difference between mobile numbers and number plates. People can't use your number plates to contact you. The way I see it, people can say what they like. It's a free country. If you don't want people commenting on your behaviour then do it where no one can see you. There's nothing wrong with giving your opinion on what you see. Bear in mind that the roads are public property, they belong to everyone, not to mention that the behaviour of Skyline drivers (and other imports) reflects on other Skyline drivers. So someone may think it's ok to drive like a tool, but it might be me getting pulled over next week to be checked for defects. As far as giving out number plates is concerned, I'm pretty sure (and would appreciate confirmation from someone who knows for sure) that a forum post has no legal standing as evidence. I can say, "I saw charli doing this", and even if a cop reads it there is no way it can be used in court. I would have to provide some sort of witness statement, and even that would have to be backed up by some sort of evidence. You can't get busted just on someone's say-so, unless that someone is a cop. That's my understanding anyway. And if you have custom plates, you can't expect to be anonymous. People are going to see and remember, and isn't that the point? Custom plates are supposed to identify you. If you have normal plates then it's different, but if you've got custom plates you can't pick and choose when people notice you and when they don't.
  18. Actually Monaco could well be RBR's best track. They've been doing very well this year despite a top speed deficit on most tracks. James Allen, as usual, is talking through his bottom-cheeks. I'm not willing to stick my neck out and deny it's possible, but I can't see it happening. Webber is realistically in his final few years as a driver. I can't see him going past 2013-2014. If Ferrari just want a good driver for a couple of years he's a good choice, he's got proven consistency and race-winning ability, but if they're looking for a long-term prospect they'll probably go with Kubica, Vettel or even Sutil.
  19. Pretty much my point. Gadgets can be helpful but I'm not sure shaving a few hundredths off the shift time is worth the weight of the R35s fancy transmission
  20. HAHAHA YESSS!!!!!!!! SUCK IT HATERS!!!!!!!!! :)
  21. More like points for imitation. R32 lights for R32s only please! Although it is the sincerest form of flattery. Saw SKYL1N on Maroondah Hwy around 2pm ... with a cop on his tail!
  22. Ha, from your signature we have two things in common - Robert Jordan and David Eddings! Apologies for the off topic.
  23. Ha, from what I heard before I bought my Skyline I thought I'd have my own personal police officer and that I'd be pulled over twice a week to look for defects. I've had the car two months now and you know what? Not a single stop or fine. Could be that I drive too slowly to get their attention ... or I'm too fast for them to catch me
  24. What were they claiming?
  25. White R33 on Mitcham rd just before 9 today. Didn't get a good look so I'm not sure if it's someone I know (I'm looking at you, charli ...)
