My impression from the first viewing was that tyre barriers and gravel traps would have made little difference. The car basically bounced over the fence, you would have needed tyres 20 deep to stop that, otherwise it just would have jumped them. And gravel traps do almost nothing to slow a car that's rolling. Once the car started sliding on its roof and rolling, the only way to stop it was with a 10-metre-high catch fence. Nothing else would have made a difference.

Bloody hell, that's horrific. It could have been so much worse. It's a one-in-a-million crash that will probably never happen again, but I still think they'll put up a new barrier for next year.

As far as I know the car is a new import. I don't think it's been driven in Australia before. I bought it from a dealer in Melbourne

Like this? If it has been wound back what can I do? (I bought it from a dealer and it's under warranty). It was showing 86,809 when I bought it, which is on the contract.

There's a lot of heavy stuff under the skin that could be lightened or eliminated. Mind you, have you seen the FIA GT series? I was shocked at how big the R35 looks compared to the Ferraris and Corvettes.

If they make an R36 I sincerely hope they fix one of the main problems with the R35 - the weight. A wise man once said: "Power makes you fast in a straight line, light weight makes you fast everywhere else". I'd like to see at least 200 kg trimmed from the R35. If that means losing a few gadgets so be it, the R35 seems like quite a complex car.

Where do you get this Sougi stuff from? Do you have to order it or is it likely to be available in stores?

My problem is that it feels like my clutch is slipping, lots of revs but not much go (at least not by GTR standards). I'm moving to Bayswater this week so racepace sounds like a plan.
