  1. There are plenty of things they can do to reduce tyre grip. Reduced size, harder compounds, etc. Also, reducing aero and adding power (the first might happen, the second won't) will create more sliding and make the cars harder to drive. Think Formula Ford with wings and bigger engines (actually I think the 2013 engines will be smaller than FF engines, but that's what turbos are for). I like the ground effect idea, as has been mentioned this will reduce the penalty of turbulent air. Back in the 80s the cars had way too much power for the tyre/aero technologies. That's why driver skill was so important - you couldn't just plant the foot and know it would stick. You certainly couldn't take Eau Rouge one-handed.
  2. The engines in the 80s were 1500cc. They weren't exactly washing machine engines ... I know they'll be restricted but they'll get around that. Not saying we'll see 1500 bhp but I think they can get at least the same power they are now. Don't forget, even at 650 bhp that's still 1000 bhp/ton. Not bad in anyone's language ...
  3. I want to double-check but I may take it. I'll pm you once I've decided
  4. Grey R35 just passed me outside flinders st station at 5 to 5
  5. Take lots of pics, and don't forget to point the camera at the cars occasionally.
  6. +1. We don't need that crap. Have fun in your car by all means, but not in a car park.
  7. Lots of great things are in the US Roy. Like, um ... When I think of one I'll get back to you.
  8. Could be good. I hope that kink on the straight after turn one isn't too tight and they can stay flat for a pass into that right-hander. Potentially 2 or 3 passing places. That double-hairpin is going to be boring, but the rest looks alright. I think turn 1 could be a good passing place. Because they're going to be braking so hard, it presents the opportunity for lock-ups and out-braking. We'll see.
  9. Apologies for the confusion. I thought that was the price for delivery.
  10. I've decided I want one with the N1 vents, so I'll let this one go. Thanks anyway.
  11. Yeah, I childishly voiced the hope that the entire field would be penalised and give Webber the victory! But if he'd followed them and made places, he could well have been punished. I agree that the modern tendency to pave a paddock's width either side of the track does allow drivers to get away with mistakes. But the alternative is to have a safety car every time someone goes off. Well, perhaps not every time, but gravel traps = more SC.
  12. Sarcasm win.
  13. Pretty epic piece of douchebaggery wasn't it? Again proving that Vettel can't get around someone even when they hold their line. As did I, I felt sorry for button falling victim to Vetool but happy that two of Webber's championship rivals had collided. +1. I got so excited when Hamo went off, I thought it was going to be the perfect night for Webber, giving him a 1-race advantage over the rest. Oh well, he's still got that gap on Button and Vetool. With a 1-race gap they're going to have to start thinking about it. One more DNF for Vetool and his championship is over. As it is he has to gain more than 4 points a race to beat Webber, never mind Hamilton. Even failing to make the top 5 could just about end it for him. Legal is legal, never mind this "spirit of the rules" business. If they can't prove a breach of the rules then it's legal. That's the end of it. It's on the FIA to come up with a way to verify that the wings are or are not legal. They're doing so and RBR are responding. Funny, isn't it, that even though the wings aren't "flexing" any more, Webber still got pole and P1 in practice?
  14. I'm after a new front bar for an R32 GTR (obviously). Ideally it would have the N1 vents and would be gunmetal grey, but both those things are negotiable. My starting point is $500 but I'm open to offers, if you want $600 or so for yours contact me and we can negotiate.
  15. I'm interested, I need a new front bar for my GTR, it's the same colour thankfully. I'll be in touch if I want to buy it.
  16. How much does it cost to get in?
  17. Resident Evil is winning ... looks like I'll have to have a zombie marathon to catch up

  20. Nismoid was surprised last night to discover his secret (even to himself) love of bowling.
  21. What time? I'll prolly join you.
  22. Ah, dammit, I knew I'd get something wrong. Oh well, you probably get that from people all the time. It's amazing how many people call me Andrew when they get my name wrong. It's never Adrian, or Alan ... always Andrew. See you round, TOM.
