Ok
Finally by the end of this year or EARLY next year it looks like I can get some power into my baby and bolt on a bigger turbo
After much research and umming and ahhing I have narrowed my choices down to two.
This is not another thread about which turbo will get me xxxrwkw.
I know the approximate power that I want and these two turbos will hopefuly get me there with the right tuning and support mods.
The two turbos in question are.
1) HKS 3037s with 0.73 (or was it 0.74 ?) rear housing.
2) Trust TD06 with 12 cm housing. Can someone clarify what the difference is between the 20g and 25g ?
I would like to get peoples opinions on these turbos, not just "yeah I think HKS is the best, Trust sux".
People who have either been in, driven or owned cars with either of the two turbos mentioned.
Im particularly interested in the real world applications of the Trust turbos, as I have heard a few people speculatiing that it wont be as good cause its plain bearing as oppose to ball bearing from the HKS.
ie they need a lot of oil and the bearing seizes etc...would like to know if this is true from people who have or have had experiences with Trust turbos.
Finally (feel like a noob asking this ) but can someone explain to what the different sizes of wastegates do ?
ie 38mm wastegate as oppose to 45mm wastegate ?
Is it just the amount of "default" boost it will provide ? I always thought they had different spring tensions for the boost levels.
Thanks in advance !!!
PS
Just to clarify this will be going into an R34 GTT.
