  2. we wont be usind rb20det as the plan is for him to put the rb30e in, and then modify that after he gets his open license and eventually build an rb25/30 ok so rb30 ecu wont work will the rb20e wont supply enough fuel to the 3ltr can the 20e ecu be nistune chipped to run the 30 with bigger injectors and turbo down the track (sorry to keep asking about this there's just so much conflicting info we appreciate the help) plenum swap isnt a problem if its needed is the plenum a straight bolt on or will it need to be modified ,retaining the factory look is a good thing and not having to swap plugs will save alot of time thanks for ya time vrdrift an nic_31 just wanna do things the right way first time, i know its a road less traveled but its good to be different sometimes and i think we will be rewarded with some high torque figures
  3. ok so firstly i hope im not posting in wrong thread pretty sure this thread was started by my friend.. we will remove rb20e leave loom in, pretty sure its 1991 model bolt the 30e+t using a combination of nissan engine mounts ive used before (so there is no clearance issues) use rb30et ecu bolt all accessories to the r30e ps alt etc why must we retain the top half of the 20e plenum ? if its just a matter of swapping over plugs ie square to round or vice versa thats no problem just dont wanna be splitting looms apart and rewiring shit cos i f**kin hate doin and it gives me a migraine
  4. ok il try and track down someone with an earlier model and ask the question or perhaps get hold of a later model loom would it have to be cefiro are there any other models that would use same loom? and nic_a31 i just read your sig hahahaha i remember that classic~! noone understood my attempt at humor in that thread at all!
  5. hahaha is that u lewis ??? so what exactley isnt the same on the loom ? alot of guys do this conversion in new zealand as the vls came out with a 20e over there and everyone is telling me there looms are identical

  11. hey guys, i have a love for all things mechanical and im interested in learning as much as i can about engine building, turbo selection and suspension / handling (i was an apprentice mechanic for nearly 2yrs before leaving to persue a career in youthwork). Iam having difficulty finding good up to date reading could you recommend books that i could nerd up on that are easy to understand and where they could be purchased from thankyou

  13. r32 cefiro and laurel share their xmembers although steering is slightly different in r32
  14. nioce work mate your quite handy arent ya simon ! but solid mounts on the street will not work for me especially with the drive out to mt tamborine every week to see the folks!! u can also use r32 gtr front swaybar but will promote understeer without upgrading the rear too also r33gts25t bars clear the sump and if u use the r33 no mods are needed to fit r33 s2 lca's this will reduce understeer in cefiros/laurels and might be a great upgrade for s13 with heavier rb motor and will in turn give you more lock and more camber food for thought nissan fans
  15. ok so ....just posted this on secret drift so i thought id post it here to in front of me i have: 1x rb25det 1x a31 cefiro 1x r33 s1 xmember 1x a31 xmember 2x r33 engine mounts 2x r31/a31 engine mounts 2x r33 engine brackets 2x a31 engine brackets the cefiro xmember sits mounts on ~ a 45deg angle the r33 sits almost flat so in order to use cefiro (and r32) xmember u need to use rb20 brackets and mounts which are longer so it sits to high ! approx 520mm above chassis rail if you use the r33 xmember with brackets and stock mounts which are 78mm this also sits to high people have said slot ceffy/r32 xmember which i cant see working as the 45deg angle will not let the motor go any lower due to the width bracket to bracket i reckon u wanna use: 33 xmember r31/a31 43mm mounts and 33 brackets. The 33 crossmember has two holes for each mount so drill a hole in between the two approx 10-15mm towards firewall put engine in bolt it all together this should sit top of rb25det plenum just below the strut tops ~470mm above bottom of chassis rail and this should just clear the ceffy swaybar this would also put the rb25/30det ~505mm above bottom of chassis rail and bonnet will close perfect on a31 r32 and possibly s13 too also the r33 steering rack should increase lock as from full left to full right the tie end rods move 145mm in 3 1/8 turns the cefiro/s13 rack moves 110mm in 3 1/2 from full left to full right so what are your thoughts on this people need some feedback
  16. hahaha i was just trying to get your attention, worked though hey, mythical....bahaha im looking for info on the housings and cartridges inducer and exducer mesurements that is all ive heard of people using different combinations to acheive quite a nice power figure around the 240kw mark with great response i hear the 45v4 front and op6 rear is the largest is this true? what are the the mesurements and what cartridge has the largest steel front and rear wheels
  17. ive heard about people using a magical combination of nissan turbo housings and a specific cartridge to create this supernatural fabled turbo lol i would like to know which ones ??? what size front inducer and exducer and what size rear also any info on housing diameters and what is printed on them ie op6...mm? 45v1/2/3/4 ...mm? etc and best combinations of said parts but not limited to rbs any info atall would be great just wanna learn as much as possible as this really interests me thanks guys

(rare turbo) dump afm purple sticker and piping trust pod filter turbo injectors turbo ecu stock intercooler all piping lines for water and oil $900 everything in excellent condition halfcut just came from japan 2weeks ago an i just needed motor and box WILL NOT SEPARATE!! if u dont like the price make an offer .......
  19. thanks guys . im gonna try using rb30 43mm rubber mounts, ceffy brackets and im slotting the ceffy crossmember down 20mm and maybe backwards 20mm we will see. im not to worried about room for the clutch fan as im using twin thermo's but i believe any weight i can get between front an rear wheels will be benificial i will be doing a write up just to let ppl know because finding this info wasnt easy

  23. the rb26/30 sits lower than 25/30 as the gtr's had front facing plenum and rb25 plenum goes over the rockers anyway do u have any mesurements for said combination?
