I done the same thing to my wheels a few years ago the bog will last if its done right and you use the right stuff and its so easy and cheap to do anyway it dont really matter The only thing i did different was i put a few layers of laquer over the top just to protect it a bit more

New Ticking Noise In Rb25, Video Supplied
jjskyline79 replied to R33Matt's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
If it gets louder in the next few days i'm going with snapped manifold studs and the ticking noise you will hear is the gasket flapping about. -

Rb20 Misfiring/stalling/rough Idle
jjskyline79 replied to SLEEPA31's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Check the intercooler pipeing i had a almost the same thing happen once hit full boost bang black smoke bugger!!!! turns out the cer clip on the bottom intercooler pipe popped off slipped it back on and replaced it with a j clip and problem solved this was on a R33 mind you -
Yes and nothing it is my understanding that it only controls the high and low boost, basically like a switch its off until the ecu sees the rpm at a given rate somewhere around 4500rpm as well as throttle position the ecu then sends the signal to compete the circuit witch changes over the solenoid to high boost Most after market EBC if not all do away with it anyway.

A few speed tests for you http://www.dslreports.com/archive?c=au http://www.dslreports.com/archive?c=uk the uk is pritty poor really
-
lol l lived there for 30 years dont no how long ago you come over or were over there but ALOT has changed in the last few years If you just want a tv without sky yeah its cheaper only $300 p/y but if you want sky with sports package and econamy pack one of the cheapest deals like here http://www.sky.com/shop/tv/sports/ Your looking at least $63 per month @ 1.75 exchange rate times 12 is $756 p/y thats over a grand and thats without paying for the box or getting ALL the sports channels thats another $400 on top for the box although there are deals that means you get them installed for free. Internet is NOT that much better we are so far behind the rest of Europe its unreal funny enough they just released a report outlining the UK was in the last three of the 20 odd European countries they tested for speed reliability and cost I'm sorry I have no idea what a baller is
-
Sounds silly but have you checked to see if the Restrictor is still in this pipe???? If not get the tappered end of a bic biro and stick it in there that should stop it over boosting
-
NP A lot of what you "hear" is uter crap i'm gob smacked by the things you think goes on and the uter crap we also get feed back to us in Britain about you guys Did you no EVERY HOME that has a tv HAS to pay a licence at about $300 per year to the BBC if you want any more channels you would have to get SKY and pay a further $30 per month If you want the sports channels as well you can add that again on top so to have a TV with the sports channels to watch the footy or cricket your looking at near on a $1000 per year

Sorry the charge applies to everyone weather inside or outside its a flat rate if you enter it or drive around inside they even charge you if you start inside it and leave the zone ie if you live there and work out of town our min wage is £5.86 ALOT less then min wage here typical example i would be on 3 times more in the same industry in Oz the Second zone was not put on hold its been expanded and now you also have a emissions charge as well as a congestion charge on top Londons transportation system is not all that late trains over crowded expensive, broken down as it was privatized many years ago. A few leaves on the track and they shut the whole track down and they even made a song about it A few years ago our local football team made the playoff finals at Wembley. The 2% extra demand as a result of this, throw the trains into complete caos. The next year we did the same thing did they learn from there mistake ER NO yet the price had gone up £5 per train ticket
-
Try parking in England EVERYWHERE charges you to park, unless you go out of town. infact on top of a road tax that is an average of $400 a year you also have to pay a congestion charge of $16 a day plus a toll charge or $2 per trip over the bridge and put one of the worlds most expensive petrol in it at $2.30 a litre You could always go by train if you like but thats even more expensive and the service is shocking

So it had close loop map sensor and a work around for gain control (in other words it has gain control) about 10 years ago and still performs well with high end more expensive ebc plus you have to buy extra add ons with the blitz where as the avcr comes with it all in one unit. Cool
-
Sorry mate I just don't believe the findings for starters he said there was no gain control on the avcr when there is Plus I think there are quite a few that agree http://www.skylineowners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=137822

Does The Aac Valve Flow Enough To Run Antilag?
jjskyline79 replied to sav man's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Im sorry i thought there was some good info in there like ecu turbo other options and maybe it not being a good idea at all Sorry I miss understood -
When it happens next time take the fuse out for the fuel pump turn the ignition a few times then replace the fuse If it starts first time its flooded and the O2 sensors knackered or an injectors stuck wide open If its not then I would say AFM on its way out other then that i would need the car and beer to work out what it is lol

I found a good cheap boost controller for $22!!!
jjskyline79 replied to CEF11E's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Mate get rid of the bov and put the stock one back on this will most likely be your problem VTA BOV have known issues with RB engines there a pain most times To re map You could try and interupt and change the air flow pulse sent to the ecu using a SAFC or neo with a wide band so you dont go bang but has no way to advance the timing beyound standard ecu maps its not really a remap as such but is easy enough to do your self or send the ecu away for generic stage 1 2 3 blar blar blar map simple plug and play but its generic or get a custom remap from a tuner using a laptop to re flash the ecu on a dyno this would be set up for your car to get the best out of it with mods you have Ive seen good results from custom remaps but they can be expensive The ecu reset is a good idea after any mod you do but it eventually learns any way as its always making fine adjustments and retarding or advancing the timing. -
It dose have a gain control the Boost Duty Cycle can be modified.

But blitz, Greddy, Sard & Turbosmart , all read boost pressure from the engine by vacuum hose till dashboard. Only AVCR and HKS reads them electronically using a MAP sensor correct me if im wrong??? How is the blitz quicker??? is it also closed loop??? The AVCR has all the bells and whistles built in no need to buy any extra bits but if you buy a power fc you can do even more as you no but at an added cost As said before you can adjust the avcr to ramp up as fast or as slow as you like at any rpm in any gear so im still lost that you think its 10 years behind and has poor performance it appears to be fully adjustable or at least more adjustable then most it even monitors injector pulse to maintain stable boost, hell it want even start learning until it detects safe stable boost that's a got to be good right??? you can even set the feed back rate on its own self correction Amongst all the other features there is even a ghost boost map graph to allow easy comparisions as well as the record function and you can have it either presented digitally in anolog or via a graph I carnt comment on any other ebc because i've only ever used a manual bleed valve personally that i thought was crap really tbh self adjusted could'nt control the random boost spikes and creep and thought it would do more damage then good so got rid asap I've never had any problem with any AVCR i've set up or seen any that they were slow to "ramp up" but then i would have set it up for the car and what the user wanted and i would have thought they would have said something if it was "slow" I no people that have them and have no problem with them and have thought they out perform many other ebc on the market by leaps and bounds. Sorry if this post sounds like im having a go but how is that 10 year behind and poor performance maybe is it to much for some people and all they want is a boost controller??? To me the AVCR is a boost controller.
-
Just because the car had the same mods dosnt mean yours will respond the same way hence why some cars respond better then others with generic remaps.

Stock BOV??? Also some cars respond well to boost increase others need a remap -
