  1. Ok guys, found a place, powerplay imports sells em!
  2. I was checking out greenline.jp and found their comment for the key as below: "Discontinued. KEY01-RN010. Not suitable for vehicles fitted with Immobilizer, Intelligent Key, Electric Key or Keyless entry." Does the Nismo key start the R34? My existing key looks to have keyless entry, but I don't use it as I have a separate alarm anyways. I should be able to get the Nismo key cut and itll work fine right? I searched other threads and everyone seems to think so also.
  3. Hi all, Went to Just Jap the other day and they ran out of the R34 Nismo blank keys. Does anyone know where else I can pick one of these up for a good price? approx $90 Most places only seem to have the key for the older series cars ie. R33, S14s etc. Thanks
  4. It doesn't get hot, but it does get warm sometimes. What should I be looking for in the shift boot ed? Thanks
  5. To turbo timer or to not turbo timer? Ill see how my turbo timer can work with my existing alarm, if it proves to be unsafe/increase the chance of the car being stolen, then Ill just not fit it. Argh then again for the sake of a legit insurance policy ill just leave it off. Too much unwanted hassle for little benefit. Money better spent elsewhere. Thanks for your help Links. Appreciate it.
  6. Do coppers give people crap if they see recognise a turbo timer?
  7. What's half clutch ? If you mean I should be clutching in all the way, and then out all the way, yes I am doing this.
  8. Thanks mate, fair enough, looks like turbo timers are illegal in NSW (my state). I think I will just opt for the sit in car and wait trick then. If a car has a stock turbo, running stock boost, is there any need to wait any more than 1 minute after a thrash?
  9. Hi all, Just Car have informed me that you can have a turbo timer fitted to your car as long as its legal and roadworthy. The question I have is, is having an alarm + turbo timer fitted legal and roadworthy? Cheers
  10. Hi all, My cigarette lighter isnt working on the 34. Pulled out the fuse box near the gas pedal and ended up finding a japanese picture. Anyone know which fuse it could be? or what rating the fuse is? I checked all the 15A fuses and they looked good. I only checked the 15A ones because my nissan uses a 15A for the cigarette lighter. If anyone knows that would be a great help, I cant be stuffed pulling every fuse out. Thanks
  11. Hi all Every now and then I get a distinct burning rubber smell driving the car normally. It only hangs around for 5 seconds then goes away. I am pretty certain its not the clutch as it doesnt smell like one and there doesnt seem to be a pattern. Note: this is normal driving, not harsh driving. Any ideas?
  12. Hi all Does anyone know where I can find a R34 GTT badge? ie. the red one that is near the boot of the car? Cheers
  13. Thanks for that matey. Does anyone know what the model GGKBRTFR34UDA-KJB- tells me about the car? btw its a 98 R34 GTT. I have searched this thread but there isnt much that deciphers R34 codes. Thanks
  14. Found a site http://history.nissan.co.jp/SKYLINE/R34/98...OLOR/index.html Thanks anyways guys
  15. Hi all, Checking my VIN, I came up with exterior color GV1 and interior G. What does this mean for a R34? Also, I have searched around and cannot find out how to decode the model code for a R34, anyone have any idea? Thanks
  16. Thanks Ska, Sorry but can someone please explain to me what this means? From what I can see - R34 GTT - RB25DET engine - 2WD - Manual 5 speed transmission What colour is it standard? I am guessing GV1 is black? What is the 2K in the top left box? And does the model code decipher to anything particularly interesting? Thanks again all! Really appreciate the help!
  17. Hi all, Where can I find the engine number on a R34 GTT? I cant seem to find it! Pics would be helpful if you guys have anything Also, is it possible to find an engine number on record using only a VIN number? Thanks in advance!!
  18. HELP NEEDED PLEASE (V. URGENT) Hi all Can someone give me info on ER34008740 And does the VIN of 6U90000ER34008740 match up with this engine? Thanks heaps!!!
  19. I have found a link but not sure whether it answers my question still: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ght=nismo+blank It seems like R34's don't have a chip inside, but towards the end of the post there are people who are talking about electronic key blanks? Now i am confused, any R34 owners out there who can confirm this for me? Thanks
  20. Hey all, Can you actually get a Nismo blank key cut for an R34 GTT? ie. when using this key, will the factory immobiliser be disarmed? or is the immboliser in the actualy key itself so this nismo key would be almost useless?
  21. Hi all, Just a question, why are manual R34 GTT's still so expensive? They are still around the low to high 30's mark and have been like this for some time. Most of these are 98 models also. The autos and sedans are much cheaper. I remember when R33's were at this age they weren't this expensive. Have import laws changed so that these cars are now more expensive to comply? Whats the GO?
  22. If the 25GT is the non turbo, then why would it have a boost gauge? Oh dear now Im even more confused! hahaha So the 25GT is not the same as the GTT?
  23. I thought the 25GT was turbo. Isnt the non turbo the GT (which has a 2.0l engine)?
  24. Hey all, Looking at the R34, I've come across something which is pretty confusing. From what I can gather there are numerous references to the 25GT and GTT. From another site http://users.pandora.be/theskylinesundergr...specifications/ we see references to the GT, GT25 Turbo. Now correct me if I am wrong, the 25GT = GTT = GT25 Turbo (What is the correct name?) And the GT is a RB20DE So there are only 2 turbo models, the GTR and the GTT/25GT/GT25Turbo. ??? headspinner ???
