Knocking Noise - Camber Bolt?
nuffsaid replied to nuffsaid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Ah I see So the yellow bushes have a metal sleeve in the middle with a threaded section that the end of the bolt goes into? Are these bushes ones with offset centres? Argh confused, have to find a diagram somewhere =P I found the left part a tiny bit loose too so tightened that up, it maybe only move 1/8th of a turn, dont think the bushes moved. So its common? is there a common fix as well? Thanks!! -
Hi guys As in the pic, I have Whiteline front camber bushes installed Lately, after driving on some rough roads, I have noticed a front knock or creaking noise coming out of the the front passenger's side So I jacked the car up, and found that the bolt is coming loose. i.e. the bolt that goes through the control arm and upper bush. I tightened the right side up and the noise is gone. A few weeks after, same deal, drive on shitty roads, and then noise starting coming back. Jacked the car up, bolt is looser (not as loose as the first time), tightened back up, sound is gone. Is this bolt one piece? is there a chance that it has snapped in the middle somewhere and hence is coming loose? The left side nuts seem to be on tight. Any ideas would be much appreciated Thank

Camber Bushes For R33/r34's
nuffsaid replied to nuffsaid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Looking at pics of the bushes, doesnt look like they come with offset tubes in any way So perhaps the stiffness of the poly simply retains better alignment? -
Hi guys I know the castor bushes are, however.... Are Whiteline camber bushes for R33/R34 Skylines the offset bush type? Or are they simply poly bushes that dont flex as much, and hence when the car is lowered, it is not subject to the same camber issues since they are more resistant to alignment changes? Thanks

Bilstein Stickers
nuffsaid replied to nuffsaid's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Nurburgring ones sold The 13x6cm ones sold 7 x 3.5cm Bilstein logo (in silver) also sold Only large Bilstein logo and BILSTEIN writing left. -
You can adjust those things that reduce the window movement But its weird, when my window is almost all the way up, it doesnt move that much Halfway down it does move alot, guess its the shape of the window itself So if you adjusted it to be tight half way down, it might not even close when you try and wind it up

Equivelent Suspension To Sydneykid
nuffsaid replied to Rekin's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
The Elite Racing package has exactly the same Bilstein shocks, they just use King springs and superpro bushes. So the package will actually be very very similar. Heasmans are good, but they will also rob you of all your money ahah Since the packages are very similar, Id just buy it off Elite Racing since they have good prices and go from there. -
Splitfires, Spark Plugs, Fuel Economy ..
nuffsaid replied to Wacky Dee's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I did the same, but used a Ford plug instead and wired that in (Ford plug uses copper wire which is easier to solder than the stainless steel type wire in the R34 plug) Ford O2 sensor is $65 roughly, plug you can find from a ford wrecker. supposedly the specs are the same but no one has ever really confirmed. But for the trouble, I;d just go with buying a genuine nissan one. -

I would have to agree with Delta Force there I think KV2R34GT's post could have been less sarcastic, sometimes people on the forums just want honest help and dont know. Give us a break, sometimes all we need is guidance or confirmation. I'd check the vacuum leak if there is one as they are known to produce poor fuel economy problems (dont ask me why but thats what i have read) Supposedly 02 sensors need to be replaced every 60000kms or soemthing like that. So it is probably time to change it anyways, it may be working okay sometimes, and soemtimes the readings may be off a little. Get a genuine nissan one off a trader named Kudos here. As far as I know, there arent any direct replacements for the R34 GTT other than the OEM one, worth the $170 i think. -
Springs are okay as well? they havent moved in 2 years also aahah

R34 Gtt - Tie Rod End
nuffsaid replied to nuffsaid's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Part number is PTE926-14 from Pedders, Bursons quotes the same and areasking $21.50. Nice. The R33 GTR is listed with the same part number, is that right? -
Hi guys Is there anything wrong with using a set of Bilstein shocks that have been sitting in the garage for almost 2 years? Pretty sure they were in good condition before they went into storage. Thanks
-
Hi all My front driver's side tie rod end bush seems to be cracking and leaking. Perhaps explains why i get a knocking sound from that area over bumps. Has anyone replaced this before on a R34 GTT? where did you get it from and how much was it? A mate told me Pedders sell them, and I verified this on their online catalogue. Seems to be the same part number as the R33 GTR. Does anyone else sell it?

Equivelent Suspension To Sydneykid
nuffsaid replied to Rekin's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Shame the owner of the company that everyone paid in the gruop buy, i.e. Jamex, is actually owned by SK (Heasmans informed me of this) So not sure whether it was a valid group buy in that sense. Beaten by whom? -

If you could share that here that would be real helpful for the SAU community -

He did offer some good prices on his group buys though. No one in the industry could match those kinds of prices. I am sure his company Jamex made a fair few dollars out of it, however at least they are willing to drop their prices unlike all of the other Bilstein retailers. They couldn't come close to SK's prices. -

Haha it might be the case, that's just what I've gathered from speaking with everyone -

Yes apparently. Speaking with Heasmans and other guys in the industry selling Bilsteins, it seems that SK's Bilstein gear was indeed the off the shelf items. It doesnt look like he revalved them once they landed in Australia. He may specified the valving specs for Bilstein Germany years ago as I believe he has had close relationships with Bilstein. However any Bilsteins you order now, will be valved from Bilstein Germany with the same valving specs that SK has been recommending. I guess there was so much interest in the valving specs in Australia that Bilstein just delivered them with those specs to save everyone the hassle. -
