  1. Good to hear. Where's the engine number on the R33 GTST? 'Cos I know I'll need to show them where to look....
  2. Hey, my future track car (R33 GTST I bought form interstate a while back) has been taken back to standard. It now has RWC and I've booked it in to get the plates. So, I book it in, and depending on VIN #, it determines the type of 'inspection' the vehicle gets. Of course, my car has to undergo the more expensive inspection (only $40) which makes me wonder - what does the inspection consists of? The Vic Roads lady gave me a nondescript answer (she was either dodging the answer or had no idea). Will Vic Roads just check the engine/chassis #'s, or is it more strict? Are they going to go over it with a fine-tooth comb? Anyone know?

    Sau Swap Meet

OK, so what do we need to do to get this thing on the radar and organised? Should this be put on the SAU events calendar and managed as a club event?

    Sau Swap Meet

Agreed - let's get it on!!

    Sau Swap Meet

Do we have any affiliations/relationships with other forums? Maybe some sponsors who are across a few forums can 'own' and promote this?? Alternatively we can give it a go ourselves and see how we go. Aside from that ... nadda....

    Sau Swap Meet

Valid point (getting ahead of onself...). I assume the 'Like" refers to FB.... which I stay away from. SO, how do we get this show on the road?? sounds like we have some interest - probably should get on to this before winter sets in.

    Sau Swap Meet

I was more thinking of putting the word out via other mediums/forums where Nissan owners lurk.
  8. Have you lost your soul?? I'm sure you will get bored real soon!

    Sau Swap Meet

We would need some foot traffic too - people to buy our gear. Otherwise it is stall holders buying other stall holder's stuff. You would probably end up in a similar situation as adam raised above. At least if we did the BBQ thing, sponsors get involved and do the show 'n' shine it would bring some other benefits. Is it possible to advertise/promote elsewhere?

    Sau Swap Meet

Was thinking that it could be integrated with a show and shine, maybe part of a cruise/destination - maybe a sponsor would have some interest in providing a venue?

    Sau Swap Meet

Hey there, was looking at the old unused/surplus misc Skyline stuff that is piling up in my shed. Really need to sell it methinks. Tried to get motivated in taking pics, posting up the ads, etc, etc, - then there's the dealing with the punters out there..... ARRRGH - I CBF'ed!! It would be much simpler if I could sell the bits in one go at a swap meet - so here's the thought: Would there be any interest to run an SAU Swap meet? Could this be an SAU club event? I'm sure there are heaps of SAU'ers (and non SAU'ers) that have heaps of spares lying around waiting to be sold, and lots of other enthusiasts waiting for those bargains to come up. We could probably run a show and shine and BBQ at the same time - depends on level of interest and venue....
  12. Just to reinforce the lucrative side of things - wife gets busted doing a few k's over 80 by the TOG in Kinglake - fines her anyway. He then goes on to put his important safety hat on - states that they've had 'complaints from the locals about hoons'. I ask when the complaints are lodged - he admits they are late at night, when groups of cars come up and do burnouts all over the main road. So why is it they blitz Kinglake during the day to specifically ping Mr & Mrs Joe average, when the public is demanding something different? Don't get me started on the reduction of speed limits - they reduced a wide well made 100km 3-lane country road (from Whittlesea to Kinglake) to 80km. People now do 60 and 70km/h in a previous 100km zone - it is plain distracting and mind numbing. I've been told the reduction in speed limit is to reduce road deaths, based on recent fatalities. How can we confirm if these recent fatalities were related to 'unsafe' roads? Or were these young people travelling within or above the speed limit ? On what basis are these speed limits being dropped so dramatically in country roads? ....Rant over....
  13. V10 = Nice, but lots of $ I'm getting down to 8 litres to the 100 in the GC. Distance to Empty gauge shows 1000km's! It's a nice comfy ride with 4WD ability. Great balance in features vs $. Perfect for my towing and property needs. The petrol head is getting the better of you in the Coyote. You only live once.
  14. 550 NM's of diesel goodness!! Drives nice too!

    Hail Damage

Yep, RACV have a New car replacement clause for cars that are written off within 12 months. Having seen how good the repairs are, it's hard to argue for a replacement car. In the olden days, sure the car would have been written off, but with the techniques they use today that are so economical (no bog, no paint) - it's really at the insurers discretion whether they write off the car. I'm sure it would be a different game if the car was totalled in an accident. I'm still astounded that they can fix every panel for so little.

    Hail Damage

Just got my 4-month old car (Jeep Grand Cherokee) back from Dents and Dings in Campbellfield (RACV endorsed mob). I'm really surprised how well the car came up. I couldn't see any evidence of hail damage, except the trim around the top of the door, which they have on back order for about 8 weeks. They repaired every panel with 20+ dents on each (including the roof which had heaps more) within one week. The repair cost wasn't even $5k (which the insurance company covers)!! Super impressed & would go back any day.
  19. It's usually diet if you are looking to primarily lose weight. I lost 12 kg with diet alone. It's a balancing act if you are excersizing and eating... you need more nutrients to support the exhertion (as Birds said). The right foods/intake will be key. You seem to be on the right path, but look at the types of food you are eating. There are lots of fads, but nothing beats basic good raw/simple nutrients. Processed food = bad I found alcohol messes with my metabolism - for days!!
  20. Hmmmm me likes. Wife no likey likey spend money.... Sad. Location?

  23. Yeah, If I was serious, I'd be doing this in addition to my normal training regime. One guy I know said he'd be wearing floaties (for a laugh) because he can't really swim! Go figure!
