  1. Any pics of the event ??
  2. My track r33 gtst lives at thewheeldeal. Good mob who are conscientious and care about reputation.
  3. The car in the background had Nisspares on to. Maybe talk to that driver, considering he's doing similar stuff too?
  4. Yeah wanna know how many left. Looking at arranging a few of us...
  5. I think the 4.2 was the same block, but don't quote me on it. I recall these were the better 'old school' engines before they went smaller cc's. Probably get better answers on the pootrol or 4wd action websites ... This might give some hints: http://www.axtturbo.com.au/td42_42l_gq_engine.html
  6. Thanks guys. Will do.
  7. Replacing the engine in my track car with a spare motor I've had sitting around. Swapping over ancillaries and replacing water and oil pumps before the replacement goes in. Looking for gaskets on eBay, just jap, etc, but they don't seem to be commonly available. I'm guessing going genuine would be an option, but am I being pedantic? Is it worth sourcing gaskets or just going the gasket goo?
  8. Yep learnt that one. Front mount plenum cost a lot of headache. Fabricator buggered my motor and it's never been the same since. Just took out my motor with buggered bearings and about to put the replacement one in during the week. Yes, less dicking around means less dicking around.
  9. I thought I read Hyundai went all out and built it from the ground up themselves, just to prove they could. One of the reviews said it was a lard arse and too expensive considering the competition.
  10. So what's your secret to reliability?
  11. ... So I take it there is another DECA planned? Maybe I missed the event info? Is there a link?

    Fyi - Job At Cams

Nice if you like motorsport and after something part time. http://docs.cams.com.au/Corporate/Employment%20Opportunities/Permit%20Coordinator%20(part-time)%20Ad.pdf
  13. We were lucky. We went to the beach that day and couldn't get back in till the following Wednesday only to find everything gone. Lots of lessons could have been learnt by the fire authorities; In reading the weather, support services, emergency procedures, communication, police controls and communication. It seems the authorities still need to learn. Given the lancefield Fire - again they didn't read the conditions. Hope the token effort of fuel reduction plans isn't compromised because of the poor planning at Lancefield. The fuel reduction in your backyard is immensely important. Regarding heat spots, we had ash pits in the ground that were scorching hot for weeks.
  14. The 123s get a bit noisy ( think wheel bearing whirring), however work well on a heavy car. They just need a bit of warming up to get the most out of them.
  15. Excellent result. Are you allowed to keep the re growth down? Or isn't it your property?
  16. At least your guys are quite active. The back burning to date around me in Kinglake (my opinion) is woeful. You reckon they'd be on it like rat up a drainpipe since black Saturday, ensuring (at least ) residential and rural areas are better protected by the same arrangements you guys are undergoing.
  17. Peppa pig stuff. Personalised Peppa pig books with kiddies name in it. Search identity direct too.
  18. Hey Terry, You are a wealth of knowledge & I wonder what type of medicine principles you specialise in? Also, are there any of you in Melbourne? Have some need....
  19. How did it go? Pics? Stories?
  20. A good tyre fitter with platic guides on modern equipment will minimise damage. Obviously a fitter who gives a crap will do a good job too. Will the supplier of the rims fit them?
