  3. Hey mate will the r32 Nismo diff suit an R33??
  4. I assume you mean the front passenger inner guard lining? and the engine tray between the radiator and engine? Then yes I do. The drivers side inner lining is stuffed though.
  5. I’m stripping the donor car that I just purchased. It has 150K on the clock. It doesn’t run, so parts are as is and I think the prices should reflect this. Note: I’m keeping the engine and a few ancillaries. I’ve listed what I’ve removed from the car so far. The rest is up for grabs, but it will take some time to remove the remaining parts. Location and conditions: Prefer pickup for larger items, but shipping can be arranged a buyer’s cost. I’m in Kinglake and can bring to work with me at Mulgrave if you want to collect during the day. Contact: Jack on 0401994746, or PM me Item: Standard exhaust from dump rearwards with canon muffler attached Condition: Few scratches, but seems in OK condition - meh, it’s an exhaust! Price: $80 Item: Standard radiator with shroud. Has oil transmission in/out bungs Condition: Second hand, Fins look OK, it has a few dings as you would expect. Looks OK to me. As is. Price: $80 Item: AC condenser, compressor, cannister and piping Condition: Second hand, as is Price: $80 Item: Standard intercooler with shroud, mounts, all hoses, clamps, piping Condition: Pretty good nick, I reckon. Price: $100 Item: Auto diff & cross member with Hicas attached Condition: Hasn’t been run up, so I can’t vouch for its operation Price: $100 Item: Front bumper Condition: Gun metal grey, definitely needs a sand/spray Price: $90 Item: Rear bumper with side pods Condition: Maroon (wine red?), will need a spray Price: $90 Item: Bonnet Condition: Silver, previous owner sanded it and left it that way – so will need painting Price: $50 Item: Spoiler Condition: Maroon (wine red?), looks OK Price: $50 Item: Left and right electric mirrors Condition: White – looks unpainted. Can’t test them, but look in newish condition Price: $100 Item: Standard intake hose with piping attached Condition: Looks in good condition Price: $80 Item: Set of genuine Skyline mats, including the transmission tunnel mat Condition: Used, but scrub up OK Price: $100 Item: Pair of tail lights Condition: Maroon (wine red?), average condition Price: $50 Item: Pair of S1 head lights Condition: Average condition & a bit hazy, but can be polished up as per the countless threads on how to restore headlights Price: $90
  6. Yuck, makes me thankful that I got a good one. I think Fiat has increased build quality which is an improvement over the previous Merc ownership (believe it or not) . On an unrelated item your comment "alter the geometry for RHD vehicles" prompts me to think you'd appreciate Gojeep's skills on his ratrod thread. Maybe you've seen this on Ausjeep: http://www.ausjeepof...ead.php?t=97856 Back on topic - tow cars!!
  7. Nothing (thankfully). And I'm pretty fussy too!! It's the first I've heard of that. Can't remember seeing anthing about it on Ausjeep too. I know the first ones had some build quality issues - Was his one of the first into the country?
  8. Arrgh, SAND! don't mention the war! I got stuck at Stockton. There is a service TSB/fix under way for both the traction control and ABS. Mine had an upgrade since I threatened the dealership with 'no more Jeeps for you'... till they fixed my WK2. (I'm in the market for an updated Wrangler as the wife's truck). Jeep Australia sent one of their techs out to reprogram my car. Having said that, sand aside - the car is a pearler, I can't say a bad thing about it. The quadralift (push-button lift kit) is a pleasant very useful tool that I thought was going to be a gimmick. I also saw the new ARB Patrol on the road yesterday. Had personalised ARB Y62 number plates. I thought the front end looked like a giant Navara, with a bit of LC200 styling around the body/rear. Don't mind the styling, but I'm wondering why no diesel too - I think they have missed the mark in Australia (unless they are going for soccer mum/corporate business only).
  9. Ahh, I didn't realise the 3 litre was the same lemon that was in the Patrol... The inlaws had one of the Patrols and sold it within a year. Couldn't tow a caravan without overheating on a warm day.... Meh, if it were me - I'd ignore value for money and look at the Ford and Mazda utes. Too much of a mine field in the buying Nissan department.
  10. Well, Spain vs Japan says it all.... I've heard the 3l is a good vehicle, but it seems the 2.5 ain't so good...
  11. I've heard a horror story about the Navara (not sure if D22), multiple transmissions, multiple diffs, spent most of its warrantly life in the dealership.... The guy said the arrogance and lack of care by the manufacturer scared him away from Nissans forever. Not sure if blackrex had similar issues. Maybe its worth staying away from one? Then again, I guess most brands will have horror stories.
  12. ... but do they have stock? Probably... I guess that's why they are on sale. The last time I looked at them (about 18 months ago) all I got was attitude and you " you need to wait".... at the full RRP.
  13. Plenty to check and do! Bugger that it is intermittent. Almost worth going straight for the rpm triggered relay!
  14. Hey Duncan, had an auto elec check all the connections and make sure the relay wiring was earthed and powered correctly. I just haven't done the validation of the signal at the PFC when the gremlin is around. Sounds obvious now! Thanks. I'm almost tempted to do what Brad suggested cos I'm sick of rooting around with it. See how I feel about it tomorrow morning! Not sure what you mean by the mechanical fuel t'ed into the fuel line though...
  15. Hey Brad, had to read it a couple of times to digest what you were saying. The current trigger wire runs via the standard Electronics and loom that eventually gets to the PFC. Are you saying that the PFC trigger may not work? I was hoping to eliminate all the old stuff in between assuming something was broken. I know you are the expert, so not questioning your expertise. What you suggested is seems to definitely be the next step, I was just hoping to eliminate the old stuff first.
  16. Hi all, given my problem exists in my track car and Ive exhausted the general maintenance search/diagnosis I thought I'd post this in the Motorsport section. Basically I've had a intermittent problem where my r33 gtst track car won't start. It turns over easily, but won't start. You can tell that the fuel lines don't seem to be filling, and you can't hear the pump going. Racepace replaced the fuel pump with a new high flow and got the car working temporarily, only for the gremlin to come back intermittently again. I've installed a relay to ensure adequate power directly from the battery but it is still being triggered via the standard wiring, but the intermittent problem remains.. Question is, to eliminate all the electronics between the power FC and the pump, would it be sensible to run a wire directly from the pump relay trigger wire to the power FC fuel signal connector? I'm hoping some of you Motorsport guys who have experience in this field could impart your expertise. This is really frustrating and preventing me from getting back on the track.

    Damn Hot Huh?

That's a good idea. We had to chopper in supplies. Mostly water and fuel to keep generators going. The other things some people were hanging for was cigarettes and coffee!

So I watched the news tonight. It seems that the post-bushfire process is still the same. Media are allowed on people's properties to demonstrate the 'devastation' and the 'tragedy', but the owners are not allowed on the same properties for their safety. Those that stayed to fight/protect are not allowed to leave to get supplies, fuel, water, as they will not be allowed to re-enter. So, it's survival of the fittest. This feels the same. Poor buggers.

Being from Kinglake myself, I'm amazed to hear that the greenies may be wanting to put the brakes on minimizing fuel. So here we go again, Tassie is reminding us of how inadequately we are all prepared. This brings back some raw emotions. An area near me that was back-burnt around a year before was untouched during black Saturday. Everything around it was torched. That should be enough evidence to get the ball rolling, but no - it ain't happening. There's more undergrowth now than ever. The government is behind schedule on back burning. I personally haven't seen a thing at all. Crazy thing is the CFA members used back burning as training. Hell, the farmers even paid them to do it with a donation and a BBQ. Real life fire fighting skills are diminishing and things don't seem to be improving (in my opinion). Volunteers told me that there's wasn't enough equipment to go around, and backburning was not done due to oh&s considerations - like the fire trails were overgrown - You can only surmise why that happened. It seems the gaps in our services capability are huge. Hopefully this isn't the same situation in Tassie. Here's to hoping the Tassie situation ends quickly. /rant over
  20. I just drove a few laps of mount panorama, it makes it all the more 'real'. Having watched only watched it on TV - it was a hoot to appreciate the elevation and gradient of the track! Saw a Stag getting around the track this morning. It's gotta be on your to do list.... Will certainly be buying the footage now!
  21. $30 k is cheap for a base model which (I think) is being run out. It's a nice car and would do the job if you're towing something light like an mx5 and light weight trailer. For example, my Jeep Grand is rated to tow 3.5 tonne, but I personally can't imagine towing that kind of load. I tow a 33 gtst with a 750kg trailer and various bits and pieces. I reckon around 2.5 ish tonne is my personal limit, giving a bit of overhead or buffer. Pretty sure it was suggested there may be some other options some pages back? Again - the Cherokee still very cheap! Wonder if you can get stock?
