  1. Id really be checking up that they are talking WHP... I know a lot of britts n yanks use BHP which would be WHP minus 12ish% due to the usual losses... which would bring a 600BHP car to somewhere around the quoted 540WHP... dont get the two confused. (if thats a really obvious thing to you I apologize if it makes you sound silly) Also I would definitely be checking up on those trim sizes.
  2. Done deal neil... ill take the doors and make payment in a fortnight, happy to make a deposit etc for you to hold them, obviously depending on if this other guy wants the guards. Will PM you my contact details, please reply with bank account details and any other info I may need Cheers James.
  3. Is that a generic dump or as per customer specs... coz I need something done up with a trust flange + screamer etc.
  4. Keen on the doors by themselves... let me know if your willing to separate, unable to purchase guards, I run 18x13 inch rims... custom guards = necessity. If Mr.Mad (2 posts above) wants the guards.. and you wanna split ill take the doors after settling on a price, can you give me a figure?
  5. Exactly right the volume of air required to fill 1 inch more space at your designated boost level = the increased lag time. Get 2.5inch piping to your standard TB + Plenum, and maybe 3 inch on turbo side if you have a 3inch inlet on your turbo... I dislike reducers so thats just personal preference. Also depends on your cooler inlet/outlet size too.
  6. Upgrade them its cheap and easy, I did for peace of mind... 380rwkw, 1.5L surge tank, 400hp Bosch lift pump, 600hp Holley Gravity Fed External, 45L RCI Fuel Cell, 3/8 Braided Lines, Sard 850cc's Nismo Reg and some kind of aftermarket rail... havent pulled it off to check brand, came like that when i got it. Never EVER had a fuel issue, prior to this I ran standard fuel lines and an in tank Tomei 600ps pump and it was a friggin nightmare.
  7. $250 Cash, ill pick it up thursday or friday whichever suits.
  8. Had a similar problem installed split fires, improved somwhat, changed plugs to NGK IRIWAY7's with a 0.65 gap and my car runs beautifully now, I seriously recommend looking at your plugs as sydneykid has already pointed out costs hardly anything, takes little time and made a big difference for me
  9. Basically the tuner I'll be looking at using locally, would prefer power fc or microtech... those are the two he is really good with, along with a multitude of other workshops. Ive recently heard some good things about the new Wolf 3D V4 I think it is which has some pretty badass deatures such as rotational idle, anti lag, great mapping points etc I basically wont something that has great tuneability in terms of boost and rpm mapping points, along with safety features like a knock sensor etc. I dunno I just dont want my car to turn into a pig because of some sub standard ECU.
  10. Hmmm point taken, never thought of it like that The Question Remains, what to swap to, is there anythign I can swap to with the same funcionality, features etc Because I can pretty much get anything tuned by local shops BAR the fcon Microtech, Haltech, Power FC, Autronic, Motec... yay for opening up a whole new can of worms ahahha
  11. Thats pretty much what I was getting at... question still looms what ECU to go to that will enable me to retain most of the features that I currently have/use. The techtom is the main thing ill be pissed about losing, it shows intake temp, digital revs, water temp, oil temp, oil pressure, speed, boost... a whole crapload of handy stuff I can cycle through at the touch of a button. Im pretty sure I can retain the shift lights and adapt them to another ECU as they are Tomei items. I mean if it has to happen ill bite the bullet but I have heard rumours that there is "somewhere" in QLD which tunes the fcon... now if i only knew where!!!
  12. Hey guys, currently running a HKS Fcon Pro-V in my baby, and its nearing time for a tune once I get the new intake setup fitted. Does anyone know of a tuner in QLD who can do a good job with these babies, ive got a full techtom digital display unit that works in conjunction with it, and a dual stage shift light and a heap of other stuff thats reliant on the ecu that I really dont wanna lose if I can avoid it. In saying that to my knowledge the only guys I can find to tune it are BD4's in sydney... and im not keen on sending my car interstate just for a tune everytime I need work done. If there is noone in QLD, what are your opinions on a replacement computer, keeping in mind the car is 500... hopefully 600hp with the new mods at the treads (RB25DET Series 1). Or should I just quit my bitching and send it down... My main concern is I know the Fcon is an awesome computer... if you can get someone to tune it, I dont want to take a step backwards into a power fc or something with limited functions etc just to save a few bob on tuning etc. Any advice/input would be greatly appreciated. Cheers - James.
  13. Completely agree, same goes for the high flowed RB25 turbo's, these days your almost better off paying the couple hundred bucks extra and buying something brand new from the vast array of aftermarket options in the same price bracket. (EDIT: Jeez my spelling is bad)

  15. This is what I am in the process of doing right now, you require an adaptor and apparently it is very worthwhile. I have a friend (Rick from Adrenalin Motorsports) that runs a 700hp+ RB25 R33 with a T78 and has a similar setup to what I will be running. He swears by it. (pretty sure most of his stuff is aftermarket though) Will definitely keep you posted on results, I'll also be looking into selling the adaptors in Australia as the only place you can get them is Japan unless you wanna have them custom made which = $$$$ If your interested let me know, the first run will be limited numbers only just to guage interest.
  16. Exactly hence why I went for the ITB setup... the only thing that concerns me if I opt for a Nismo Plenum is that I will still be utilizing standard runners. Should I invest the extra money in getting aftermarket runners to suit the plenum or will standard suffice??? Currently talking to ISL33P about runners/plenum anyway might see if he can get them separately.
  17. Seen this done on an Sr20 with Garret GT17's... was in an escort and it was more to practise fabrication than actual practicality. I suggest having a look at those turbos though
  18. RB25DET Cylinder Head Ported 1.5 - 1.8bar HKS Fcon Pro-V Stage 3 HKS Cams 275 deg duration.... bigger than standard lift i dont have the figures with me im working til midnight not sure on followers i know valves retainers etc have all been replaced with aftermarket parts. Internals are trust built, forged pistons rods, aftermarket bearings, prepped and balanced crank etc No dyno graph unfortunately had one from when it was still in japan but its been lost. Rev Limiter is set at 7200rpm as it sits, it wasnt during the tune (im conservative ) Hope that helps.
  19. Exactly why I want to upgrade, also looking to change intercooler setup and shorten piping up. I can get the previous owner on these forums to back it up its tuned for 1.8bar usually run at 1.5bar though. Thanks for the feedback from those of you who had helpful input, Im aware ill need to use a GTR Style plenum to accomodate the ITB's Ive been offered a TRUST Item for a good price so Im thinking about that at the moment. As for those of you who think the money could be better spent elsewhere, I assure you it cannot, theres nothing else left to do to the engine, besides strap an even bigger turbo on it and go for bigger power, which I dont want to do. I want useable power, not a dyno queen, Throttle bodies, plenum, intercooler setup is all there is left to do along with some suspension gear that I'll be picking up at the end of the week
  20. Yeah its a hydro something... I used to know... back when jesus was in the yearbook this pic was new and I could of told you. From memory its a hydro something... used for water pumping or some crap, its not a turbo
  21. Having Problems Choosing a Plenum Candidates: Plazmaman Unique Auto Sports Trust/Greddy All around the same price ($50 difference here or there) Currently running an RB25 with a t67-25g - making approx 500hp atw (slightly more hasnt been run in a while) on a mild to safe tune. Upgrading the whole intake side of the engine to the following specs. GTR ITB's Aftermarket Rail + Injectors Custom Plenum Trust Intercooler with Custom Piping Anybody have any experience with one or more of these plenums and can provide some feedback, I know the TRUST plenum is expressly designed for big power huge turbo setups, wheras my car is a drift car believe it or not. Makes full boost by 3500rpm and I dont want to sacrifice too much response. Have heard good things about the plazmaman plenums from a few ppl, and the UAS site is the only one I can find with dyno graphed results and it looks to be the goods in terms of design and quality. Basically I want something that is going to facilitate similar response to the standard item with increased flow. The ITB's are being professionally cleaned, I have a CNC Machined Adaptor and will be getting the lot port matched. Head is extremely worked, 275deg stage 3 HKS camshafts, race ported, valves, springs retainers... its all been done. Any input would be greatly appreciated - James.
  22. Ive had to use a CNC machined adaptor to make it fit correctly ($500 from japland) and switch my fuel rail and injectors for GTR Items to suit... will definitely keep you posted. SHould come up a treat once its done.
  23. Im currently in the midst of doing a full GTR ITB Conversion to my RB25 including custom manifold (leaning towards a plazmaman plenum) will keep you posted on before and after results if you are interested. I know they wont be specifically related to the plenum alone as the ITB's are bound to make some difference but at least it will give you some scope of a real world application. Turbo = T67-25g - Currently pulls around 500rwhp
  24. I've paid up to $16 dollars EACH for high tensile high heat tempered studs (for a buick mind you) through an independant supplier. So $70 doesnt seem so outrageous to me Should take you 2 - 4 hours depending on tools and how fast you work, not a real hard job just tedious and lots of stuff you need to remove and refit.
