  1. thanks webber..tuning is no worries, just wanted to make sure it was same bolt spacings to the airfilter as a standard one..cheers
  2. z32 still available mate? will it bolt straight up to an r34 gtt? sorry probly a newb question
  3. congratulations mate stay out of trouble
  4. you should probably put up a price range and location at least. preference on auto or manual and two door or four door etc probably wouldnt hurt either. good luck with ur search
  5. go and talk to the people who you are worried about getting booked by highway patrol if you can...i dont see what wrong with it if it is working as a functioning brake light..but i dont know about having a blue light next to the red ones on the back of the car, they might not agree with that
  6. so sad ay,was at kfc today getting some of their gourmet food and there was a massive group f b n s utes there and honestly 99.9% of them are the biggest pieces of shit on the road, they should be copping as much of the defects if not more than the jap cars... to OP maybe because u live so far from sydney they have another way of doing the testing...but up in sydney, if u get defected its the dB test and then a full under the car and under the bonnet inspection...i enquired about how they could justify inspecting my whole car, when i only got done for the exhaust noise and thy pretty much said they can do whatever they want lol..good luck mate
  7. what did the letter say that came with the epa form you posted the pic of?.usually you have take it to a mechanic who does inspectionas on behalf of the epa/ deccw and there is only a few across sydney..maybe they arent doing that now? such a pain in the asssorting these simple defects out i think johny bravo maye be collecting commision from repco to sell these db testers haha
  8. ^^ do that...just make sure u get an honest mechanic that wont bulls@#t you, so you can get a genuine opinion on what will HAVE to be done. as long as it is roadworthy i dont think it necessarily has to be stock to get it blue slipped.. good luck with it
  9. haha you get the night stick for that one even better you could walk over to his car and ask him to rev it to 4500rpm and see if he makes it under my defect was with the DECCW not the EPA but i believe they are one and the same..exactly the same form and everything..cant really read the pic of ur form as the type is a bit small, but im pretty sure you dont have to. if it just says rectify exhaust noise and then get it tested, then you wont have too change suspension, wheels etc...he did say something to me when i was there but then said, well theres nothing i can do about it anyway ( campbletown testing station) when mine was done, was for exhaust noise only, so they did that, then carry out an anti tampering test to make sure you still have all the right "emissions" bits under the bonnet, they take pictures and everything unless parts are engineered and you have the paperwork saying they have passed an IM240 emissions test, then they shouldnt pass...including aftermarket front mounts, pods etc. p.s. they get wet for standard parts with nissan part numbers
  10. haha the perfect gift for any import driver..imagine the look on the cops face when they say ur car is too loud and you're just like, "well, i beg to differ" and you can proceed with confidence to prove that ur car is below 90dB, before getting pepper sprayed
  11. sometimes i wonder why i dont even a pod on a turbo car may make enough noise to get you into trouble too...that is their latest reason for why pod filters are illegal... from what ie been told by the technical officers at the DECCW you do not even have to be pulled over. as long as they get your rego plate and can say where and when they saw you, you have to go for an inspection anyway. ( unless you have a repco dB tester and then your in the clear )
  12. if you can get the parts easily enough and ur car isnt heavily modified, changing to a standard exhuaust or somthing nice and quiet is the best option.. theres a few threads about these inspections, so should have all the info on what u can and cant get away with.. coz even if you only get done for dB level, they still do a full inspection, under the bonnet and up on the hoist. yep, if you ring up, they have to tell you where and when you got done and whether it was by police, or some randoms or whoever dobbed you in, obviously they wont give away names but
  13. they just record the decibel level of cars going past..know idea how they determine which vehicle the noise is coming from..i only know of 2, on on the m5 or m4(whichever one goes to chullora) and there as one on the big downhill section into wollongong, i think they were mainly for trucks though?
  14. not the case mate..3 complaints from ordinary citizens or one complaint from a police officer or ranger and ur gone...i argued with them at length about it when i was issued with a notice because the notice was for about 8 months before i even owned the car...not alot you can do about it mate..they just say that once its on the books only way to have it cleared is to have it tested
  15. looks good mate
  16. definately interested..ive been wanting to join for ages but am gona wait til i have my car back, so would be great if a new and improved sticker was available...i do like the SAU VIC sticker..i hope they don't notice if SAU NSW copies them
  17. really like the look of the flutes you put in, came up really good..shame the front bar has seen better days
  18. ^^^ exactly right..i love the idea behind it, but it has a lot of issues that would take a bit of considering. i would imagine insurance would be a nightmare..people running into problems and going past there allotted time. would make it next to impossible to have multiple bookings per day...id probably say a bit more than 25 and hour maybe more towards 35 coz u would have a lot of expenses to make up, but if its not affordable enough people wont bother and just get a mechanic to do it.
  19. i believe that they are illegal and are sposed to be removed when the vehichle is complied, unless it is privately imported in which case they leave them in, but they are still illegal. someone please correct me if im wrong though but my car still has them and i know alot of people on here still have them... the amount of cars running around with hid ect. you mustve been pretty unlucky to get busted for it
  20. my panel beater is waiting on parts from nissan japan to send over here so my car can finally be repaired but there are massive delays atm..the parts were ordered a couple of days before the tsunami hit so they hadnt been sent yet. has already been two months since the accident so little bit longer cant hurt compared to the suffering of other eople at the moment. panel beater was saying that toyota and nissan are both shut down in japan at the moment hope the news bout SSS turns out to be false, have got parts from there several times, really great guys
  21. bit over 3000k's a year on average does seem a tad low, doesnt it? is this a car your looking at buying or just one you saw?
  22. theres always a chance on a low k car that it has been tampered with..but the condition of the car will give u a better indication then whatever is on the clock...that does seem like really low k's but maybe thats exactly what it is if in doubt and you have access to the car get a mechanic to do an inspection on it and get a professional opinion hopefully it all comes back sweet tho, good luck
  23. yes you are missing the snorkel off that airbox...your engine is not going to blow up from not having it but, if you are running a standard airbox it is better to have it, unless your feeding in cold air from elsewhere.i think it would cause a smaal drop in power and fuel economy, but cant confir that. im sure nissan would have some reason for putting it on though
