  1. cheers for the help guys, while not cheap it does seem worthwhile if i find the right car to bring back. the car will be going to melbourne so i'll definintely get in contact with you kakimoto33 when the time eventually comes as much as i would love to bring a gtr back they're way out of my price range at the moment, and whatever i do get will be a daily for the next year or 2 so the compulsory insurance price on an international license would be rediculous as well, if possible at all having a look around at cars there seems to be a massive price difference between the uk and aus on s2000's aswell i have found, so might have a look at a few of those as well
  2. well i'm currently living in the uk and thinking about briging a car back to Aus when i eventually come home as a personal import. I can pick up an 04 - 05 mazda rx8 over here for about $3000aud, I know i'll need to have owned it for 12 months before being able to apply to bring it back, but what would rough prices be for shipping, duty's, application fee's etc..? and yes ive searched already, can't find any threads on the matter that arn't rediculously outdated.
  3. got an r33 non turbo gearbox, manaul brake pedal, gtr clutch pedal, booster and master cylinder. $300 the lot, need gone this week se subs, vic.

  5. Just wondering what cat converters fit an s2 c34 stag, all i can find from searching is that it is the same as skyline. but the skyline cat is 315mm long. my standard cat is 350mm long. also i bought a catco cat advertised to fit a stagea a while ago which was also only 315mm long and no good
  6. Bump clutch has arived so box will probably be removed next week (if not sooner)
  7. Going to be doing my manual conversion in the next few weeks so thought I'd advertise this while its still in the car and can be tested. C34 s2 awd transmission, Had an MV auto's shift kitted valve body and all new solenoids fitted about 30,000k's ago (cost me just over $1000) Trans is strong with no problems and can be tested in the car before I pull it out Located in SE suburbs, Vic $400 ono
  8. never got surfaces checked last time as didn't really have the time to send the turbo away, theres no flex sections in the exhaust but the front pipe is braced to the transmission. after going over everything i have found the bov recirc pipe with a big split in it so there has probably been a lot of unmetered air going into the engine, maybe that has caused some high egt's which wouldn't help. might try getting the surfaces machined and new genuine gasket and see how it goes
  9. just blown my second turbo flange gasket in a about a year, engine is a rb25det neo running 18psi on a gt3082 on a standard manifold with a 12mm spacer. Haven't measured backpressure but exhaust seems pretty free flowing and the engine revs through to redline quite quickly under load. I'm still running a standard bov and has a bit of a dose at times, could the turbo be creating excess backpressure when dosing and would a bigger bov help reduce this? or is this just a common thing and not really a problem when running higher boost?

  12. just had a look on the box has written in pen Front 8kg Rear 6kg for the spring rates. selling because my stagea is auto and i got another set to suit. yes they should suit an rs4s, just make sure the rear lower mounts are fork type and not an eyelet. also they are for an awd model, so not sure if they fit rwd models or not.
  13. have a set of bc br coilovers to suit manual (fork rear) c34 stagea, brand new still in the box with all adjusting spanners, stickers etc.. can fit auto if you get some eyelet type lower rear legs. pickup from Frankston. Vic. $900.
  14. if the gaskets check out ok pull the dump pipe off and check the turbo exhaust wheel, mine made the same kind of sound and I found two fins broken off on the rear wheel, the wheel itself was still attached to the turbo so it still boosted ok
  15. my c34 made a similar sound to what you describe when i blew the turbo to manifold gasket, i was originally thinking an intake restriction before i found it as well, also had a distinct lack of power as well, replaced the gasket and all was good. Might be worth looking into before condeming the turbo.
  16. yeah back to 1.1 gap now, running 18psi with no problems, i guess only time will tell how they hold up

  18. my yellow jackets started breaking down pretty badly after 18 months. decided to spend the extra and have some okada projects plasma direct coils now, so far so good http://www.okadaprojects.com/
  19. mine does the same, squeals for a few seconds on cold startup, other then checking belts I havn't really looked into it yet, but I think its the clutch in the fan slipping that squeals, after a few seconds of running you hear the fan kick in properly and the noise stops.
