  1. Hey all, Just a quick query for those who know more about cars than I do: My car (1997 R33 Gts25t S2 - 78000k's) has started to make a rumbling sound - no noticeable wheel vibration (just the rear view mirror wobbles) whenever I take my foot off the accelerator at speeds of 110kph or more. I have been told by a friend who is a mechanical fitter (not a mechanic but mechanically minded) that this could be a wornout uni joint on the tail shaft, and is something to do with it moving when not under acceleration. Something like that. I am not mechanically minded (at least not with gearboxes and drivetrains) and just want to know if this is something to worry about or to get replaced soon, and how much I'm looking at paying? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Jon.
  2. Must admit - my car is only a Gts (R33) and it didnt like Vortex. Got about 70ks less for the tank, not driving it any differently. What I don't understand is that the sign said Vortex 95, not Vortex 98 - but the sign had the same design etc as with Vortex 98 (blue if I remember correctly) not like the 95 design (silver and red) - and the price difference from 91 was 14 cpl, just like the difference between 91 and 98. But the chick behind the desk told me it was definitely 95 when I queried it. Spewing Shell don't have a 98 octane version though - I like their fuel and theyre usually a fair bit cheaper than BP..
  3. big performance difference between the R32 Gtst and an R33 Gtst? I thought it would only be around 20HP or so..
  4. Supra RZ or Mazda RX-7 - both in the late 90s models. And none of that non-turbo crap!
  5. Just wanted to say hi - from Perth, Im a big admirer of Skylines and am a new owner of an R33 Black Gts25t. Mainly on this site to look at rims and find out if anyone is selling parts, rims etc. Also find it really handy to read the forums to see what people find works on their Skylines. Also having a read up on wheel offsets etc because I wouldnt have much of a clue what would look good and make the ar handle well. No plans yet to modify the engine I'd like to keep the car perfectly stock apart from rims. I guess theyre better for resale when theyre stock... Anyone feel free to drop me a pm if they have something theyre either looking to sell or if they have advice etc.. Cheers, Jon.
  6. Hey mate, Not up for buying the car sorry but just wanted to comment and say that the car looks great with those rims on them! I own a Black Gtst too (1997, completely stock, even down to the jap radio) and am trying to find suitable rims. I'm thinking black or bronze - maybe R34 GTR rims. Are those Volks? Fit the car well? (I'm unsure what width/offsets would suit my car - my Gtst is new to me) Body kit (esp front bar) looks really neat too - good luck with the sale.
