Cat Back Nomination For R33/r32
TurboDoseBro replied to TurboDoseBro's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Hey mate, i did a bit of research and Youtubing of those exhausts. They are too quiet and don't bring out the RB tone enough. The Fujitsubo was alright: I would kill for an exhaust that sounds like the Mines. Anyone heard of Remus? Would they fit on a Skyline? On the way, i found that the Amuse exhaust sounds pretty good but probably unaffordable (similar note to Mines Silent VX Pro): EDIT: The Mines exhaust is $4.4k AUD delivered from Nengun. FML. -
Cat Back Nomination For R33/r32
TurboDoseBro replied to TurboDoseBro's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Hey guys first of all thanks for the replies. Not really looking into a titanium exhaust for now, not really worth it for a P plate car. @ mad082, yeah bit i love the shape of a decent sized cannon though Also with a custom exhaust shop made muffler, you don't know the note it's going to produce. @ (OO)SKYLINE(OO), cool, i'll have a look into them. @ istdercollen, yeah but if it sounded like that i wouldn't mind @ Brandon, yes the silencer was on for some time but i have removed it because it is too restrictive and noticably restrictive too. I don't like the Regu06&R because of the tip, it's like a condom (no offense). -
What the F$%#? $2750??? For a mountain sprint???

Guys, my exhaust is way too loud (it came with the car). First few days it was cool driving around like i was some kind of 1000hp dragster but now it's just plain annoying and disturbing, starting to get embarassing as well. Also bad for the neighbours, pedestrians, and other motorists. Not sure what the brand is, i've been told by the seller it's some kind of HKS cat back. But it is time for it to go, i remember ripping tissues in 1/2, rolling them up, then plugging my ears with them on long cruises. Yes it is THAT bad. I estimate roughly 115dB at 4500RPM. Please nominate or recommend a cat back or muffler system you think has a very nice note (hopefully retaining the RB tune) and posseses at least decent performance characteristics. I've had enough. Had a browse around Youtube to get rough exhaust notes and i seem to like these: Nismo NE-1 Tommy Kaira M30 ARC100 Mine's SILENCE VX PRO TITAN II Not that most of them will be in my price range i don't think... Pics of current fart bomb (one without and one with silencer, sorry about the angles):

Passenger Door Won't Lock :(
TurboDoseBro replied to TurboDoseBro's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Thanks but how do i remove the door trims without screwing the car up even more? -
Hey guys, i started getting troubles with my R32 roughly 4 days ago. It started with me not being able to open the passenger door both inside and outside (after trying to unlock it). Used the key outside and it finally unlocked (remote locking, central locking, and unlocking from inside didn't work). Now after that it just stays constantly unlocked. Tried everything. Even trying the key outside to lock it doesn't work. Please help, i am scared for my line

Chromoly Hicas Lock Bar
TurboDoseBro replied to TurboDoseBro's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks guys for the replies. I had PMed ISC Warehouse for the weight and they replied stating that it was roughly 900g to 1.1kg. I think that's fair. -
Hey guys, I have read on a forum topic that there are such things as chromoly HICAS lock bars. I was just wondering where to get them from so can you please point me in the right direction. Reason being the weight factor. Poster states he removed his old bar and replaced it with a chromoly one and it proves to save a lot of weight. Steel bar (assuming it is from the said weight): 6kg-8kg Chromoly bar: 0.5kg Thanks Edit: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/R3...=chromoly+hicas Post #5 he mentions.

So that means we can just ignore what the lid says (use only DOT 3 brake fluid)? I have read the link. DOT 5 is silicone and DOT 5.1 is glycol. How frequent would one have to change DOT 5 (silicone) brake fluid compared to normal 5.1? Is it worth it? Currently have stock GTS-T brakes and will be getting Bendix Ultimates to accompany the new fluid. Will start doing a bit of track work soon too. Thanks.

Hicas Lock Bar Brands
TurboDoseBro replied to TurboDoseBro's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Alrightey...Cusco HICAS locks were roughly $450 delivered and Midori more expensive by $100 or so. Screw that. HICAS bar it is. (Prices retrieved from RHDJapan) -

Thanks for clearing that up. Does anybody know where to source the Cusco or Midori type of HICAS locks? Interested in pricing. -
Hicas Lock Bar Brands
TurboDoseBro replied to TurboDoseBro's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Alright this is more confusing than i thought. So basically what i read from your replies are: - Don't go with aluminium bars - All the brands do same shizz assuming same material - The Cusco/Driftworks type is lighter than the bar type - Removing HICAS will disable the adjustment of your toe rods - Illegal (don't really care as i can get it engineered) -
LOL, better not touch it then, doesn't look too bad... On the other hand, i did touch my fuel gauge...does it automatically adjust or do i have to disassemble the whole dash again and touch it? Swapped to Cyberstork white faced gauges with grey background and i must say it looks horrible (at night). The red LEDs that i bought off 666DAN barely shone through and is patchy, some characters don't line up (despite an hour or 2 of lining it up), and is less visible at night than stock. Stuck between changine the faces to stock or just leaving it (And no i'm not gonna fork out $800 for the Nismo ones...) Here's a few pics of the result, day time it looks very nice.

Massive Newb Question! Im Sorry!
TurboDoseBro replied to Juz's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Also some remove it because it's faulty and dangerous in some occassions causing the rear to snap out. -
Why don't you try spray something like carby cleaner and leave for a while to penetrate if you haven't tried already.

Hey guys, finally got around to removing the dash for the first time. Found that a few globes/holders were missing from the back of my dash compared to post #6 of: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/An...remove+dash+r32 That picture is from an R32 GTR and i have an R32 GTS-T. Maybe different? In the picture attatched i have circled in red all the missing globes/holder from the previous picture in link. Sorry but i don't know how to make the circles thicker. In the blue circle i was wondering if anyone had that bulb in? I have shone light in all the circles and it seems that it is masked off by a black film so maybe it wasn't supposed to be used anyways? Also does anybody know the bulb sizes of the smaller holder? I know the bigger ones are T10. Help much appreciated. Thanks.

Anyone know how to take the needle out then? Scared if i yank it, it's going to snap. :S
-
Hey guys, i've currently got one of them Cyberstork white face dial covers. The only problem is that the R32 GTS-T gauge needle is still white, which would make it hard to see with a white background. Anybody have experience with this or know how to solve the problem? Would the needles even be interchangeable with the R33 or any other cars? Help is much appreciated. Thanks. Here's a pic of what mine basically looks like stock. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a79/d13so...3m/IMG00112.jpg
