  1. Also interested thanks. Car at the moment is like a display cabinet.
  2. Hey, this got me wondering the other day. Called up the tyre shop (Tyre Barn specifically) and asked about the choices on 225/40/18s for my Impreza. They replied with 2 choices: Silverstone Evol8s ($185 each) and Hero Milanza HZ1s ($150 each). I decided to go for the more expensive one as it sounded more legit (probably named after the racing track Silverstone too ) and i've never heard of Hero at that time. Was getting tyres fitted and couldn't help but to go check out the Heros while waiting. These are the stats i got (forgot the treadwear but they were in the 400 mark): Silverstone Evol8 (made in Malaysia) $185ea 225/40/R18 92W Traction A Temperature A Hero Milanza HZ1 (made in Taiwan) $150ea 225/40/R18 95W Traction AA Temperature A So are these tyre readings rated by the manufacturer or as some Australian standard thing? Would i have been better off choosing Heros next time because of the ratings? Anybody with experience?
  3. Yeah mate, am considering a purchase of the RM edition of these BC Racing coilovers as BR is turning base model when V1 dies out and ER is too hardcore . For only $100 more than BR it has a few more tricks up it's sleeve. Haven't found any for R32 GTS-T yet though...
  4. Thanks for the replies guys, i'm thinking of sending the looms to BH_SLO32 for plug n play. Hopefully i can get it back and slowly try rewire. PM you guys later if it's too much to handle lol
  5. As title says, if anyone is selling a new white Nismo Duracon gear knob / shift knob roughly around the $60 -70 mark let me know please
  6. REALLY? Awesome, do you work at RE Customs or are you separate?
  7. What's so good about this one compared to the synthetic Mobil or Shell ones?
  8. Hey fellow Skylineians. Recently getting my RB20DET engine from my R32 converted to a R33 RB25DE engine, everything is going well but had my excitement flushed away as i have come up with a wiring issue. Apparently there is a white plug/adaptor thing near the ECU of the R32 that is different from the plug from the newer R33 loom. Attatched is a picture of the white plug/adaptor from the R33 loom that doesn't fit to the R32 plug. How did you guys resolve this problem? Or is there anyone is VIC (preferably SE Melbourne) that can fix this? Thanks in advanced.
  9. Does anyone know what the hell the white plug/socket near the ECU is supposed to adapt from the R32 to the R33 loom? Thanks.
  10. Hey mate, interested in some parts, what let your R33 loom plug into the R32 white plug near the ECU? I am doing roughly the same thing as you are.
  11. What about security system fitters? (Alarms, immobilisers etc) I know Stylyn does it but that's about it.
  12. Hey, a BOV in an NA screw around car actually sounds like fun lol. It would be like the Starlet GT except it's an Echo
  13. Wooo spare parts!
  14. Hi, i would like to change mine to 'TyresBro'. Thanks.
  15. I'g get an exhaust after that intake and then retune. Unless you've already got one.
  16. Sorry but it's actually $2k to turn the car P plate legal if you find the right place (this is excluding reselling the engine). R32 GT25s go for roughly $10k anyways (surely there will be someone who is willing to dish out more). By the way i'm running a RB20DET tranny in a R33 RB25DE (non turbo) motor so should be alright since it's less power and torque overall.
  17. Nice nice...sourced everything except the R33 series 1 wiring loom -_-' these things are pretty rare, called up about 8 wreckers and none except 1 with series 2 wiring... To add to the engine swapping wreckers/workshops: JS Jap Imports: $2200 for conversion kit / $3200 + labour (speak to John) (talk about overpriced...LOL)
  18. Apparently (according to nissansilvia.com, no traitor ) the RB25DE and RB20DET boxes are the same, so is the speed sensors. But however that brings out the question now...do i use the R33 ECU + loom or the R32 ECU + loom....thanks EDIT: Hmmmm pretty stupid question as R33 RB25DEs have VVT so would need their own ECU. But the speedo sensor and loom then...
  19. LOL you're sure yeah? This is my life savings + passion on the line
  20. Yup, workshops/wreckers will charge roughly $2.5k for engine + ECU + wiring + etc for the whole conversion. Now if i could just find if the R33 engine will fit onto the RB20DET's tranny......... For now: Japan Special Vehicles: $2600 (the lot engine, ECU, wiring, etc) Oakleigh Mechanical Repairs: $2500 - 2800 (+$500 - 600 for R34 RB25DE NEO) (the lot) R E Customs: ~$2000 (the lot) (told me he was gonna get back to me 2x but hasn't...asshole...LOL )
