Hey guise, got a R32GTS-T with a dead motor and was wondering if an R33 RB25DE engine will bolt straight on to the RB20DET tranny. I know for sure the wiring and ECU won't be the same (which is gonna be a pain in the ass) :S

Thanks matey. It still needs an engineers certificate because the displacement of the engine is changed to 2.5L within a vehicle registered with a 2.0L engine, quoted from engineers (VACC). Been phoning around and it's roughly $2.5k. Your 2 cents is more like $2.

Well i thank you guys for being so kind but that wasn't the answers i was looking for. I know the R33 comes with stock RB25DE (and +6 factory kW as well!), and thanks for the suggestion but i don't want it because personally i love the looks of the R32 and want to keep it for a long ass time.

Why has this thread turned into flamesuit galore lol? All i wanted to know is a few places to get the swap, i think i know i am responsible for my own car. I'm sure theres some document i can keep in my car to show it has been converted anyways, if not then that's my loss. It's not like i'm gonna be driving like those dickheads.

Sure i'm modifying it, but not to give it more horsies. I'm simply converting that car into a lower spec that the R32 already comes with it (GTS25) (from 2.0T to 2.5NA). Both VicRoads and engineers say it is fine to drive it, given i have an engineers certificate and have the engine number changed. Why would a policeman defect me if i wasn't driving a turbo, 8 cylinder, high powered vehicle anyways? This is something that you can buy. If i was driving a TT Supra with a VicRoads exemption then ok that's fishy, but i am not.

Broskis, i've done countless research on this and asking around. VicRoads says the car details does not come up with the aspiration, only the displacement. So from changing from a 2.0L to a 2.5L i would need an engineers certificate. I rang up a few and they said it was legal on P plates (mind you these are the guys in charge of what's legal as they are up there somewhere). The point is that what i'm doing is legal. I'm only forking out so much cash for a NA is cause i'm gonna keep this car for a long time even off the P's (with another engine swap ) so i need your help in finding a trusty mechanic.

Still on P plates, yeah lame i know lol but i am keen on it. R32 GTS25s are such a bitch to find and are way overpriced anyways Was wondering if anyone knows any wreckers or workshops that do the engine swapping with a good job and good price? Yes i've looked at the workshops/wreckers thread but don't know which does the engine swapping sorry :X Really do hope to join the club soon!
