  1. Spotted Richard going up my street in Conder a few times today. Don't spose you spotted my car in the driveway? Sweet ride by the way, sounds very nice. My window faces the road and when i heard your car coming up my street i stuck my head out to have a look. Very nice!
  2. If you let the clutch out quick when you're driving it will sort of jolt the car, and thats really not good for your gearbox and clutch and stuff. Best way to learn is to go to a driving school. If you've driven an auto for so long it will be much easier as you already feel comfortable in the car and understand the basic road rules. That, and other drivers on the road will treat you a bit better than they would if you had a set of L plates on To learn manual doesn't really take that long, i used to suck at it but after about a month of regular driving i was fine with it. I just have a few problems with hill starts since i've had the new clutch in.
  3. Speaking of Silvias i keep seeing this S13 convertible, dark grey colour i think with an S15 nose... damn that thing looks HOT!
  4. I hope my gf doesn't read this, but she was quite attractive too ahh...the car i mean...
  5. Back on topic, spotted a Maroon R33 at Lanyon shops today, chrome wheels and female driver. I was walking back to my car so i didn't wave, she would have thought i was some kind of weirdo...
  6. I recently picked up an '96 R33 GTST with manual transmission and very minimal mods for $20,500. The car was in immaculate condition and low kays. To be honest i'd prefer the car i bought at that price as opposed to something with more mods/more kays etc. Like others have said, drop the price or you could be waiting a while for the right buyer. That said, you do have a pretty nice looking SI Skyline.
  7. True, but an idiot driver is an idiot driver regardless of whether they're on their P's or not and regardless of what car they're in.
  8. Hey everyone, about the cruise the other day, sorry i didn't see you all at the Cotter. What time did you leave there at? I headed out at about 3pm after work and i couldn't see any of you? I was probably in the wrong place as i was taking directions from my dad and he has just a bit of trouble with maps However i did stumble upon a Ford Mustang gathering, and i don't think too many of them were happy to see my Japanese turbo six amongst their American 8's... got a few dirty looks so i got out of there quick smart :p But anyways, i heard about the crash. What model was it? The rims in the pic i saw were 32's, so i assume it was an R32? Ah well, great news for my insurance premuim and road reputation.
  9. It depends, probably A, but like others said if the guy is a maniac and driving a complete bomb i'd just pull over and let him go, it's not worth getting rear ended when you can simply pull over.
  10. i might be able to come, but i finish work at 1. Should i just cruise down to Cotter and see if i can catch anyone there? Might bring my old man as well, he has a love for the cars even if he is a little slow in some ways (he used to call my BOV a blow up valve... )
  11. Was the R32 even trying? i had some guy in a Prelude try and race me cause i took my first gear change pretty quick, think he got the wrong idea. i just let him go, he had his girl in the car and we where next to a police station. he can have his 5 mins of fame.
  12. Have a look at this thread, lots of useful information on purchasing a skyline. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=35129
  13. I'm still playing the old KOTOR on PC. Great game, can't wait for the sequel. Anyone played the new Vampire game? looks good, the first one was mad. And FF7 is my fav game of all time...ah the sleepless nights i spent on that one.
  14. I'm working sadly... Anyone wanna drop into Kmart and say hi? damn it gets boring. Or busy. I'm hating Christmas right now.
  15. Thats harsh, leave that car and it's passengers out of this, or at least address them with the repect that they deserve.
  16. I feel sorry for everyone involved. She could have at least done that somewhere private, think about all the young kids (including hers) who witnessed that. That would scar you for life.
  17. Reminds me of when my clutch was slipping really badly. Had to park at the top of my driveway which is pretty steep, revved heaps before the car did anything. spun my wheels at the bottom leaving a nice big black mark. Don't think my dad was too happy bout that... But yeah, i can see it taking a while for me to get used to the current clutch. That said the response is so much better! Sharper gear changes and less crunching on the box. Ed charged very fairly as well after i looked at the quote. Very pleased.
  18. Yeah, my dad said he was having a hard time with the clutch. Don't blame him, the other one was pretty spongy, i'm not used to the new one...stalled a few times now. ahhh the shame. As for my mum... you should see her behind the wheel of my car, she's dangerous.
  19. Hmmm... Richard, heard my parents bumped into you at Integra while they were picking my car up for me (damn work). They told me you said something about coming along one Tuesday night and meeting all you guys and gals. Also heard there's a cruise the 19th...im working till 2 that day but if there's still something happening after that i'd love to meet up with everyone.
  20. If you want to rent something you could get into contact with my mum, she's a property manager and has been in the business for a few years now. Really knows her stuff and won't BS you about anything.
  21. I accidently left my petrol cap at a servo once (it was my gf's fault! Honest! ) and drove around like that for a week. Didn't get any dribbles of fuel or anything. Can't say anything about the performance as my clutch was slowly slipping at the time and it felt a bit less powerful to drive.
  22. Excuse me for a second, but now you're the one generalising and speaking on behalf of a group you can't speak for! I'm 18, i won't lie, my parents paid for my Skyline. Does this make me a dickhead/revhead driver simply because i didn't pay for the car myself? NO. I appreciate the car, i respect it's power and i'm well aware that the car far exceeds my own limitations. So i didn't work hard for it? Big deal. I've been taught to respect the car and drive it sedately on the roads. Hell, my Skyline was the car i learnt to drive in when i was only 17! And i'm yet to 'wrap it around a tree or kill someone else' Like everyone else said, driver education is the single most important thing to a new driver. It shocks me how easy it is to get your P plates these days, and as a result i think many young driver are poorly skilled and approach a car with the wrong attitude.
  23. Gran Turismo did it for me. The Skyline was such an awesome car in that game, i decided i wanted one and i managed to find an immaculate one in my price range. Been happy since.
  24. If he reads this i'm dead, but my sister's fiances Commodore. It's white with big red playboy bunnies up the sides, and some chrommies, but he replaced his brake pads and now the chrommies are covered in crap from them. Take a note, Commodores and chrommies don't match. It looks so crap! I also hate those big ugly pizza tray chrome wheels you see, theyre like a big chrome cover. People who talk on mobile phones or do stuff while driving. Like the woman in an XR6 that cut me off. The porker was eating icecreame at the time and wasn't even watching where she was going. Most 4WDS that people buy and never take off road, they just use them to run to the shops... i could go on forever but i won't.
  25. Yeah, i was reading it last night. I knew my clutch was on the way out so i was looking at my options. I'm just going with what Ed offered. I need the car back as soon as possible and this will be the quickest way. Maybe not the cheapest, but hey, I trust Ed to do a good job, and if that means i pay an extra $100 or two on top i dont mind. But thanks anyways. Oh and that reminds me, i owe you a drink sometime for a certain thing you did to a certain Falcon.
