Spotted! me driving like a grandma because my cluctch slipped to the point where it revs whenever you put your foot down! hooray! booked it in with Ed, looking at $1000 for a new Exedy clutch installed, apparently slightly better than stock. I'm not a lead foot so it should do, but ouch! $1000 so close to christmas! i could cry!

Hey Stevie, are you on your P-plates by any chance? I've spotted a silver R33 series II with P plates in the back window a few times now, waved and never got one back
-
Spotted a few R33's doing formal runs at Lakeside Rydges last night. Strangely i didn't see one 32 or 34 while i was there or a single GTR. Oh well. I showed up in my 33 so i was pretty happy about that
-
Yeah, that was me. Sorry i didn't say hi or anything, i'd had a rough morning and wasn't in the greatest of moods. I've had my P's for about a month now, and the car since Nov 25th. Yours is looking good too, i was admiring it through the glass as i paid. Also think i spotted Andrew (VeilsideR33) on the way to Chisholm, car sounded nice!

Young drivers face fast car ban
r33skylinegtst replied to XtRoN!C's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I just saw an article on the news about this and i think what fires me up more than anything else is the unfair emphasis placed upon hi-po cars that crash. I'm sure by now everyone knows about the blue 34 that crashed recently. Everytime i see a report on P platers and the new 'restrictions' they show a footage of this crash. With all due respect to the people and families involved in this accident, i do not think it should be used to fuel the current debate. There are a few reasons for this. The first would be that the car was stolen. The young man involved was not allowed to drive it, therefor when he turned it on and took it for a drive he was stealing it. Furthermore from what i've heard (though it may not be true) he did not have a valid licence. It wasn't his car, he was already breaking the law. For these reasons i do not think it should be used when debating the current topic. Anyway, let me say that i'm 18, on my P's and own a GTST Skyline. To be honest this was the car i learnt to drive in, as well as a Lancer Coupe. The key thing for me was that when i took my car out with my dad in the passanger seat he emphasised the point that the car was hi-performance and that if i drove dangerously, the results would not be pretty. I won't say i'm experienced, but i believe i am mature in my driving attitude. Everytime i have am temptation to speed or impress my mates i just remember what i was told, and that's usually enough to sway me. The key? Driver education. Put people on their P's for longer. Don't limit my choice of vehicle just because of a minority. Not everyone is going to speed. Not everyone who owns a hi-po car is going to speed. It's as simple as that. That said though, it could be the one time you do something stupid, you crash. Think about that as well. -
Hey people. Some idiot hacked my gf's e-mail and after sending spam from it and being a general idiot he decided to give it back. only problem is he set a new password and gave me a riddle to solve to get it. It's as follows 2 words - but you have to work it out . Not the password - ion,t,ti,ca,u,at,hne, 1st word mixed - 2nd word mixed e,d,r,o,v,p,a,p Any ideas? I know the second word is 'approved' but i just can't figure out the first?

Whats the deal with turbo timers?
r33skylinegtst replied to The Jake's topic in General Automotive Discussion
It won't keep the engine running in a crash if it isn't turned on when you're driving on the street. if you must have one (or in my case have one cause the previous owner installed it) and you actually use it then simply turn it off when you start your car and just before you stop turn it on. If you have an accident between A and B at least you're engine won't be kept running. -
Spotted a black R33 GTS-T series II in Woden Car Park yesterday, with custom black plastic plates. Only saw the back of it but it looked hot. Thanks to whoever it was though, you have just convinced me to get my plates done in black plastic as i orginally planned to. Looked so good.
-
Mate, i'll get back to you by next week. Still not too sure if i'll be able to do it at this stage.
-
Fair enough. I'll check my work commitments, might be able to make it. To be honest i don't yet have my P's, should have them by next week or the week after. If i don't i can't do it though.
-
Hahaha, don't be so dramatic Andrew. I'm not complaining about working at Kmart, but i will complain about my pay. Lol, suddenly getting covered in alcohol and dealing with drunks doesnt seem so bad when you get paid at least twice what i do
-
Not that i've had any experience but you could try Evo Motorsport in Fyschwick, i'm pretty sure they stock those sorts of seats. Might be able to help you out :s
-
What time? i *might* be able to do it.
-
Congrats mate, i'll have to come in and harass you some day. Hahah, nah not really. I work in Tuggers to, i'm a slave to a register in K-Mart. Shhh, don't tell anyone though

Channel 9 about Fast Cars and P-Platers tonight
r33skylinegtst replied to Bass Junky's topic in Victoria
Just saw that report. That lady they kept quoting was rather annoying, it would be nice if she got her facts straight. She said there is no driver education in school, however in the ACT they were trailing a program called 'Road Ready' that i took part in. It was mandatory for all students in my year to go through and pass before they got their L's, and focused on things like speeding and drink driving. Further more, i wish that some of these people would stop looking to pawn the blame off where it doesn't belong. Ok, so imports didn't rate a mention, though i swear they showed a wrecked Skyline, but the SS commodore and Falcon GT copped a beating. Wasn't the focus on young drivers? How many young driver (i.e on P plates) do you know can afford these two types of cars? So the ads depict them speeding, or gives the impression of speed. Any idiot knows not to speed, blaming a commersial is just down right lame. Ah well. My two cents. -
Love it mate! But i'd do something about that tint though. Otherwise, great stuff. I'll keep an eye out for you.
-
Nah, didn't notice you, sorry. But thanks for the compliment! Can't wait to get my P's though, some people see the L plates and the car and it's like an invitation for them to do dumb shit. I won't try and say i'm a perfect driver (or even a good one) but some of the things 'experienced' drivers try and do just cause i'm on my L's is annoying to say the least.
-
Cheers mate, that was me! was this in Chisholm by any chance? My first spotted nice
-
Hahah, this reminds me of one of the first times i was driving manual. I had a blue BMW start tailgating me. Being very new to driving i got all nervous, and had to stop at the traffic lights. They turned green and i stalled it taking off. Finally got the car going and went through an orange light leaving the BMW stuck at the lights again. Had he not tailgated me...

Don't let the dickheads get to you. I'm in the same boat as you, as i'm 17 and still on my L's. Funny thing is that i do all my practice in my car, which as you can probably tell is a GTS-T R33. I usually have people tailgate me regardless of the speeds i do. Funny thing is i'll put my foot down a bit coming out of a roundabout, and watch them slowly try and catch back up, only to sit on my tail again. Pretty pathetic. What people need to realise is that they were once a learner too. Is it so hard for them to drop back a few k's and give the learner some space? Tailgating an inexperienced driving is one of the dumbest things you can do, you never know when they might stall, slam on the brakes or shift into the wrong gear. it wouldn't take much to crash into the back of them, and then who's in the wrong? I think the fact that i'm learning in a Skyline only makes things worse, people see the car and the plates and it's like an invitation for them to drive like dickheads around you. Sure, it's only a small minority that gives me trouble, but it's still annoying and stupid regardless. Oh well, you won't have to deal with it for too long mate, get off your L's as soon as you can and you'll probably notice a difference in the way you are treated on the roads. Not much of a difference, but it beats L plates...

Spotted what i thought was Andrew (Veilside R33) parked outside Myers in Tuggers but then realised he had different rims and stuff. I swear it had a high wing though.

Audiotech Summer Soundoff Sale 2004
r33skylinegtst replied to eliter33's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Was it a white R33? Damn that was a nice looking car. If it was you i talked to you a while back about replacing my standard headdeck and rear speakers... will be getting that done soon i hope. See you around mate. -
Spotted yesterday afternoon some dickhead in a maroon skyline (R32, R33, i dunno, my girlfriend spotted the car, not me) doing one VERY BIG burnout up her street in Waniassa. Left big black marks on the road. Very stupid and very irresponsible. was it anyone here? With behaviour like that it's no wonder the import drivers get a bad name. This is normally a quiet street with kids playing on the road. GROW A BRAIN MATE.

Spotted on Friday (a while back i know) a silver R33, out near Queenbeyan/Fyshwick... they waved at me but i didn't notice, my dad waved though. First time a fellow owner has actually waved. I felt pretty proud. LOL

Just a word of advice. I bought my '96 R33 GTS-t a few months back, and even though it was in very good condition when i bought it, and one of the better ones i looked at, it's first service still cost me close to $1400. ALWAYS budget for the unexpected, especially considering the '93 models are going on 12 years old... You can't really be sure about a car until you have a decent mechanic give it a close look over.
