Car looks very tidy mate! Congrats on getting a black Series II. Nice cars Can't wait till i get mine, but i got it a bit worse, i don't get to drive mine till late november . Ah well, least it'll be in the garage to drool over. Very nice indeed though!

um...unsure of the KMs? Was that cause it read 28,000 on the speedo but was really around 60,000? I was told it was cause it had the Nismo dash installed. But yeah, looked at it twice so far and on the second visit decided to buy. I was just surprised with the condition of it, there was barely any wear on the cars interior at all which i was very impressed with. Plus it drove very nicely Owners a nice guy too, and it wasn't the first Skyline he's imported either.

Yeah, used to be one parker in the shopping centre at my local shops (yes, IN they have some shop set up with a few cars there, pretty dumb idea. CAN I TAKE IT FOR A TEST DRIVE MATE?) anyways, a crummy blue one like that featured there for a while... my mates and i always had a good laugh at it on the way to Coles. -
werent there speed cameras where they'd take photos but someone had to come and collect what was in them? Cause i heard a story (dunno if its true) that a guy had his photo taken by one so he went back and ripped it out of the ground and took it with him. Lol.

8 Million for Canberra Dragway

Ha, they'll say anything to get into power, but they rarely follow through. I remain unconvinced. They may go about finding a site, but like eveyone said, it'll just fall through or something and the government won't talk about doing anything again till the next election. -
Hmmm, i saw a black R32 skyline today in tuggeranong at the traffic lights across from the wollies servo. Female driver as well. I was the dickhead on the side of the road with two other mates who screamed 'NICE SKYLINE' at you before you drove off.

Advice on buying/locating first 'line
r33skylinegtst replied to Zebbie's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Hey mate, love the pics of your car. Very nice ride! I'll soon be the owner of a black Series II which is going to be great! anyhow, i noticed your rear and side windows are tinted, but the others aren't. My car is in the same condition, can anyone explain why only a few windows are tinted and not all? -
Some Skyline Drivers are a Disgrace
r33skylinegtst replied to toby19's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
RevHead, that's alright mate, i didn't take any of this personally. However it is good to hear the opinions of othr Skyline drivers who were in a similar situation to me. -

Wow, thanks, seeings as you don't know me. I'm not proffessing to be the worlds best driver, or even a good driver, i know im inexperienced and i accept that, hence why im building up more time behind the wheel before i even THINK of driving the line. And what i meant by my comment was not being involved in a crash but causing one. Yes, people can pull out on you and you can never predict the road, but if im speeding or doing something stupid it will only make the crash worse, or even create a dangerous situation where none existed before. And on the point of the elderly, i guess the same applies, but its true as people get older many become bad drivers and become 'over confident' in their diminishing abilities. My grandmother recently had her car taken off her because she couldnt turn her neck, much to her protest. Not a safe thing on the roads. -
R33: (gts-t) Series 1 And 2 Differences
r33skylinegtst replied to PranK's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
There are some similarities though, i believe the 'different wing' on the Series II (think it's called an M-Spec?) also appeared on some of the series I (or 1.5) 33's as well. Plus the other day i saw the lower stock R33 Series I wing on a car that had the Series II skyline imprint on the boot, and not the panel of plastic. This may have been custom though. -
Where can I find insurance for my import?
r33skylinegtst replied to PranK's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Elders Car insurance. http://insurance.elders.com.au/products_motor.asp They'll insure me in a '96 R33 GTS-T under my dads name. He's 54 and has a 60% NCB, but ill be on the policy as a listed driver. Around $1400 full comp. -

again you're contradicting yourselves. One person says that driving some 'POS' won't give you the experience to step behind the wheel of a skyline; Then another comes on and says driving a crummy car gave them the experience needed to drive a turbo skyline. Why cant some of you accept that not all young people are idiots? So what if the cars a high performance vehicle. If i never speed or do anything overly stupid in my car, what are my chances of crashing? Besides, who here can honestly say they've never INTENTIONALLY done something stupid, and that includes things like speeding, dragging or even puting pedal to the metal at traffic lights. Anyone? So what makes some of you think that you're a better driver then a younger person behind the wheel of the same car? Experience? like i said, age doesnt always bring wisdom. Im not saying all young people are great drivers, they're not. Im just saying that you can't generalise here. I know that if i crash my car doing something stupid, (and i don't die!) i won't be able to get another one. I know what the value of my car is, as im sure many other skyline owners here do. Rather than judge everyone by 'the few' judge them individually. Anyways, that's my two cents. -
if the speakers are the same size i would assume the grills would be the same. Why not just go to a car yard and measure up the Series II grills and see if that size fits? i'd give you measurements myself but sadly i'm still waiting on the purchase of my car

Ok, im finding a lot of you very hypercritical at the moment. You're getting annoyed that you're being unfairly labelled by other groups of drivers, yet happily stereotyping others. Ok, it's true a lot of young people have no idea when it comes to road safety, and the majority of risk takers on the roads are young people, just look at insurance premiums, that proves it. but to say things that imply all young people driving skylines are 'rich poser boys' is rather unfair. I will admit freely that my parents are buying me an R33 GTS-t. I know most of you will think i'm just out to prove myself to my mates, that i'll be dragging people at the lights, trying to drift on the streets, and generally doing the things that inexperienced P platers do. In fact, i won't be. Because at the end of the day, i pay for everything on the car. My parents are buying it but i have to pay for insurance, rego, petrol, repairs, all the running costs. Their aim is to give me a good car to start with, but should anything go wrong i foot the bills. I know i'm not the only person here who has a skyline their parents bought them, and many will prolly think i won't respect it or whatever, but that isn't the truth. As i've said time and time again, age does not always bring wisdom. i've seen people twice my age do stupid stuff in cars the same as and better than mine. Don't be so quick to judge. -

I wouldnt say the skylines are too bad as far as hoons/dickheads driving them goes, i think the Silvia (particularly the S13) has it much worse. Because they're cheap so many young people can afford them, then do stupid stuff on the roads because its a turbo charged import. Its attention seeking and it's quite sad to see. I saw a funny sight the other day, I'm only in college at the moment (and no, i'm not a dickhead driver) i was waiting out the front near the library and saw a cop van pull up outside the library in front of some other cars. The driver got out, so there was no-one in the van, but these dickheads from the college came gunning their cars up the street (very dumb thing to do, library=small children) then the minute they saw the van screeching their brakes on. Classic stuff. -

ACT: 17 Year Old Caught Doing 170km/h
r33skylinegtst replied to Jay95R33's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Ha, so the guy was from Tuggers college? That's pretty funny. I know a guy who tried to speed in his mini in the same area. Got up to 130km/h or so, but he didnt get caught. Quite an achievment for a 1 litre engine -
But a Barina isn't built for speed, yet floor it and run a red light at a busy intersection, and suddenly it's dangerous. Why is that? Because the driver did something stupid.

hehehe, if you want mid 20k mark R34 i saw one advertised in the paper a few weeks back, auto N/A for $26k. Probably the least desired of the R34 range, but hey, its still an R34!
