im lazy and i get my mechanic to take care of it but al parts are the same as the 350Z so you can prob go to repco or any car shop and ask for the 350Z parts make sure to specify it is brembo calipers your looking for i use fully synthetic oil like Caltex Havoline 5w-40 but that does depend on how you drive it and your preference on oil ps make sure if you dont know what fluids were used before (oil, colant, etc) you flush the old ones before puting in new ones as mixing them may cause problems ie. 2 diferent coling fluids may not react well.

Traction In The Wet
AlexanderWilde replied to projectx's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
1st thing check tyres as they may be winter tyres, harder compounds will make you lose it really easy 2nd VDC is meant to correct or aid you in those situations, to not skid or lose traction ie it will cut power to the wheels or apply a little braking to the wheels to correct the car's position, the VDC will control each wheel independently to correct position when you go sideways 3rd drifting is not recommended on normal every day roads as this is illegal,(and it will get the attention of cops and add to the Skyline driver stigma), 1 mistake and you will plough in another car parked or with people in it, it may be fun but everyone on the road will look at you like (WTF, guy cant control his car in the wet) 4th if the VDC turns on every few seconds in the wet and the tyres are not at fault try going a little easier on the accelerator chanses are your floring it witch you don’t need to do, high power RWD cars lose traction easily so get used to it at the track. 5th try changing the traction button from power to Auto it has 3 options Winter (grandma driving) auto (ok power responsive but harder to lose traction) POWER (great response and great in the dry horror in the wet) i had a similar impression of the VDC when I first got the car so I used tp turned it off, but the one time i forgot to turn it off it saved my ass big time when an oil patch and rainy day made me spin out on the motorway at 100km i still remember the morbid feeling i had seeing the cement sidewall coming towards me only to stop right next to it PS if you like drifting take it to the track and use your manual mode to have some fun and get a feel for it -

AlexanderWilde replied to WeezzerR_1405's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
have you had it checekd by a mechanic for acident sighns? i may have been in a minor crash and fixed up and sold, this would mean that the crash has made it unstable. usualy a good mechanic or panel beater can tell if the car has been resprayed or had parts replaced. -

im so happy mine is Black i honestly think is the wifes that borow the car and reverse like a knob then the poor husband ends up driving it with the dings i know 2 people that had this problem one with a hyundai tiburon and the other was a red V35 both of them damaged by the wifes who decided to borow the car and didnt know when to stop while reversing i think if your short (little woman) you wont be able to judge where the car ends that well because of the angled rear window and bubble but the v's have the curse (Girlfriend) is not alowed to touch my V35 -
Firstly, these are a budget tyre, so don't expect them to match a premium tyre. However, if you're on a budget then these are probably the pick of the bunch
-
depends where you are located call the closest shop for prices from the lists below http://www.tyreplus.com.au/?dealer&state=NSW and http://tyresandmore.rtrk.com.au/?scid=23668&kw=4204409

Bumper Scratch/scrape Repair
AlexanderWilde replied to mjay's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
if the scratch is not to deep eg not reached the primer you can fix it using products like Quixx if its deep then you need a touch up paint pen make sure you follow the instructions provided properly and you may even need to repeat the process a few times found these instructions on their site : Preparation: Wash area to be applied to remove dirt and grease. Read instructions carefully. Test product on small concealed area first. A. For MINOR scratches (e.g. car wash): Apply QUIXX Finish (No. 2) to the scratched area. Polish it with a clean cotton cloth in a circular motion applying some pressure to a mirror finish. B. For normal scratches: Step 1: Apply QUIXX Repair Polish (No. 1) to the scratched area and polish it for about 1-2 minutes with a clean cotton cloth in a circular motion applying pressure. Remove residues with a damp cloth. Step 2: Polish the worked areas and any matt patches with QUIXX Finish (No. 2) to a mirror finish. C. For deep scratches (e.g. scrapes): First wet-sand the scratched area gently with little pressure for about 10 sec. by using the enclosed special sandpaper (grain 3000) with water. CAUTION: Do not remove all paint or clear coat! Do not expose primer! Follow steps 1 and 2. D. For extremely deep scratches (exposed primer) and stone impacts: In this case, first use a suitable color corrective paint (touch-up paint pen) and let it dry for about 1 week. Follow the steps in C). WARNING: Use according to instructions! Not suitable for extremely deep scratches exposing primer. If primer is exposed, first use a suitable colour corrective paint it all depents how deep your scratch is but -
Brake Combo For 2004 V35 Coupe
AlexanderWilde replied to VNS 24's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
+1 on the Ferodo or Benidix, i had both and they are really good on with the non brembo stock calipers. As for the red look just go buy a can of caliper paint from supercheap auto and paint them any color you want -
V35 Atracting Boy Racers
AlexanderWilde replied to AlexanderWilde's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
sounds like a bad case of Mid Life crisis ! -
not sure i would get that rectified ASAP and call your insurer and ask if they will cover as they need to have the corect details in their system otherwise you might end up with the insurer saing sorry you are meant to have a 2007 car not a 1993 car think of it this way 2007 car will have alot more safety features than a 93 car and will be looked at diferently by insurer both cost wise and safety rating minimum i would do is make sure the insurance company have the corect details ie 1993 model

V35 Atracting Boy Racers
AlexanderWilde replied to AlexanderWilde's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
i have a mate that is a cop and the stories that he tels me and the stuff that he has to see because some duche decided he can control the car makes me apreciate what cops do. yes there are ocasions when they are whrong and is best that you talk to them civilised and discuss it in a logical and be restpectful way, most of them will agree with you if you seem like a decent person and have a valid point, as for the 2 cars both starting up at the same time if the cops pull them over and charge them with racing the excell will get booked for trying to race teh V can argue that he was just driving normaly and the excell tried to race the obvious being that a V6 3.5 litre did not rev up above 5000RPM any decent cop will understand that a high preformance car was not raacing, and if the cop is still arguing race then take it to court -
i had something similar when i got my car i got it from VICTORIA and when they transfered the information to the RTA the year was incorect had to get a blue slip and then went to RTA and the laidy there made some calls and filled up some paperwork for me then waited like a week for the paperwork to be finalised for the date to be changed to the corect one

make sure you don't just top up with any coolant, is not recommended to mix coolants as they may not work well with each. id say just flush it all out top it up and check the fan if its spinning before a drive and after
