does anyone know the real diff between race bearings and standred bearing? i bought the ACL race ones but i guess now im thinking bout it and dont really know the differeance.
-
does it make nice power and on what type of psi?? since i have these should i get a bigger turbo??? im thinking bout goin with s372 borg warner.
-
has anyone used 280 cams in rb26 head? what size turbo and is it worth the head replacement parts( valves, springs, retainers) i also have 1mm oversize valves. should this flow pretty good??? im thinking bout porting the head out myself but havent decided on it yet what do you think???
-
ooohh thanks for the tip. i was planning on using it till about 8-8500 actually that u said that. well if its not that much of a gainer than i may just skip that. what about micro polishing??
-
what do you mean by lose revs quickly??? i was thinking bout just going with it but didnt know if the car would drive different from a standard crankshaft
-
i am actually doing the balancing of crankshaft, rods, and pistons. but have crankshaft balanced to handle 10k of rpms aswell
-
so i have my internals at the machine shop an i was giving the option like 5 times to knife edge my crank, and i said no 5 times, but know im kinda of thinking bout it b/c of the fact this is an all-out motor, but its gonna be daily driver. im getting the crankshaft raced balanced to 11k rpms, i have spool rods, mahle pistons(8.5:1) rb26 head BC valve train with 280 cams. my goal is 700-800 whp( dyno queen #'s) but for everyday like 600 hp. im using e85 with t72 turbo. The real question is, is knife edging the crank bad on daily driven cars? what is the down side of it? im not worried bout the cost of it, will it drive alot different the reg crank?
-
well how big is your turbo? how much psi are u running? these are things that i have come arcoss on my e85 set up. im currently on t72 with twin pumps with a relay and that is working on my set up at 600 hp.
-
thats what i was thinking. how much rpms of better spool u think ill gain???
-
ok that sounds good. i do have a corrections the current ar i an .86 so would a .81 make that much of a difference???
-
I think I have an .96 ar housing or 1.09 ar housing on a t72. The Q is, what size should I go down to to make it spool up round 4000 rpm. It spools now at 4900. I was thinking somewhere around a .81 r .84 but didn't know know if that will be to small

lol shes only 5'0 ft

thanks im working on making it better looking. i just turned up the boost to 18 psi and boy was that alot to handle. i love this car. it feels like it still has room to go but i like her to have alot of life in her.
-
well on 15psi is prob around 500whp but the motor is stock and the tranny is an rb25 aswell

sorry bout the delay, i was very sick. the wheels are called venaci they come out of the same factory as rays and are from japan

so ive been working on my rb build for about a year now and had a few motors in this 240sx. i first got it running back in Jan for bout 3 wks but the transmission broke so sourcing parts and research took awhile so i just bought one. then while the car was down i desided to put another turbo in it. i went from a 50 trim which i made 520 whp to a turbonetics T72 turbo which i have right set to 15psi (dont know the exact hp) i had 880 injectors and replaced with 1000's (im on e85) the other motor had a lil bit of a porting job when i got the motor, head gasket, greddy timing belt, head studs, r34 rb25 n/a short block. now that motor was ok on power(at the time i thought was really good) it was a lil bit sluggish in the off boost parts. well after i had put the new turbo and injectors on that motor i had took it out and not knowing one of my fuel pumps failed and BAM there goes cyc #6. so i got a new motor completely stock in put it in there with the same aftermarket parts with the same tune and this motor rocks hard. so far on my tune im getting that turbo to be at full spool on 15 psi at 4800 rpms an redline to 7k( will raise when i change the belt, its loose). idk the power but it fells ALOT better than the other setup by far i dont much pic of the car but ill show you the work over time and what happened to it after the last motor blew, it caught on fire. i will post new pic of my new setup prob tonight this is at the car show in Jan old setup this is when we got it working the first time this is what happens when cyc #6 has no compression and alot of blow-by

i have another Q on this. if i were to put all new rb26 stuff in the rb25 head(valves, springs, retainers) would putting the rb26 lifters be no problem???
-
yea thats true when you convert the numbers it still ends up being almost the same number in AFR as gas on a gas gauge.
-
from my personal experiance i have tested with leaner vs richer and i did see about 20hp gain on richer being that you add alot more timing bout you will loose hp if you do not add any timing when making it richer
-
so r33 intake will fit r34 head???
-
i wanted to use the solid lifters from the r34 head. im already at 600whp but flow will not be any better unless i use solid lifters to go above 8k rpm for my turbo size.
-
so i have an r33 rb25det thats in my car and an r34 rb25det that i want to buy. now question is can my intake manifold fit which i hear it cant and can it be modified to fit? i havent seen online to buy an r34 intake that doesnt have r32 and r33 all over it. ive did a little research and didnt come back with much. are would be easier to switch out the lifters into my r33 head, which the whole reason i want the r34 head.

naw on e85 mines like 55 55 55 55 55 48 48 48 42 42 42 40 40 35 with no knock and while i was on the dyno i was gaining hp but i stopped adding cuz i thought that was pretty high
-
im on stock ones right now
-
ok i will do that. i have another Q. have any of you tuned with e85? if so is your IGN map like 40-60 point degree?
