Notchy Bnr32 Box
luke james replied to DAS KAMU's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Not to sure of redline im not a big believer that an oil can protect against shock in the gearbox but I maybe wrong never blown a gearbox up and ive had some pretty big powered engines and always used castrol if your in Adelaide ring Jamie from JRM Transmissions he would be able to tell you what oil would be best good luck....luke -
Its not the gears! its the syncros to replace 4and 5th syncros in my GTR32 box was $700 and that was all parts and labour, has fixed the problem and was a cheap job concidering another work shop in Adelaide was going to charge me $500 just to pull the box out

What Clutch, Plus Help Changing Oil
luke james replied to EARMUFF's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Try doing the plug up first a little bit to crack it then it should undo allot easier thats the same problem I had with mine and found that was the best way to get it undone g/l ..... -
R32 Gtr Clutch Problem
luke james replied to urbanoperations's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I would try to bleed the system or adjust the rod you never know that may fix the problem and is allot easier than pulling a gear box out if not its late nights and skinned knuckles to pull the gearbox out ....luke -
This is a common sight for gtrs that do big launches, burnouts drift or drag when you have done a big launch or any of the others put you foot on the clutch for a bit or change up and down gears to let the clutch cool down I was told by a mate whom builds clutches and has done for the last 20 years to do this or they get that hot and will fuse them self to the fly wheel hope this helps but maybe a little to late by the sounds of it ....luke

Notchy Bnr32 Box
luke james replied to DAS KAMU's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
If it is every gear I would say change the oil to a lighter weight oil this will help the syncros work better and hopefully change gears smoother good luck ... -

Brake Pads Users Ratings Guide
luke james replied to Snowman's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Ill back you up jetpilot1986 I have no problems with these pads and sure there is always somthing better on the market but for the price and the way they perform I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone and they are easy on rotors which is another bonus unless you have endless money to buy new rotors every weekend then go buy your $300 pads because they will chew the shit out of them Also when I was out at mallala I was rounding allot of cars up with expensive pads and most of it was under brakes point proven! -

Brake Pads Users Ratings Guide
luke james replied to Snowman's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Have done 1.25 but that was with stock boost and big understeer and being held up by slower cars didnt have a clean lap all day so I would say when the car is sorted it should do 1.20s comftable especially now im putting a better motor in it with a fair bit more power .... -

Gtr Understeering To Much
luke james replied to luke james's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
yeh 1-10 dial and a toggle switch which says 2wd at the bottom and 4wd at the top and you just flick it up or down it was on the car when i bought it but think receipt said $500 ......whats the difference between them? -
Gtr Understeering To Much
luke james replied to luke james's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Im pretty sure it was bought from Manta racing whom arnt cheap for anything if you know what I mean it was about $500 and has a 2wd to 4wd switch on it as well it seems to work excellent I think the front of the car is a bit higher than the back so might drop that down a little and do what you said have a couple of centimeters above the gaurd and ill buy some adjustable caster arms and change that also that may fix the problem and should knock a couple of seconds of my times around mallala track hopefully down to the 1.20s..... cheers for the info Ryan... -
