  4. great Videos I will study Bathurst in detail. Thanks Bill
  5. I love these wheels. Looking forward to see them in the flesh.
  6. The similarity is we have both got the SAME fine with the SAME consequences in the SAME city!!! (rules vary between states) I posted this here because i have had real experience with the legal system with regards to this matter in Brisbane, have you? My case was not open and shut. I accelerated from the lights on my GSXR1000 at near full throttle and he was in an unmarked car. I only slowed down as i saw a speck in my mirrors flashing me. At no stage was he able to follow close behind me at the same speed. The advice from my laywer was the judge will believe the police office over any excuse i may have. My advice to Eastes is to discuss a Good Behaviour licience with your laywer as this maybe the only you can keep your licience.
  7. Been in a similar situation. I was on my motorbike accelerating from lights at the start of the SE freeway heading south over the bridge from the city. Unmarked police car behind me at the lights. He pulled me over and said I was doing 120 in 70 zone. I didn't even realise it started as a 70 zone. anyway went to laywer - he said that they wont care what you say , there is no bargining, no defence. Not worth trying to contest it. Our plan: Go to the compulsory court hearing with laywer, and apply for 'good behaviour licience' - 1 point for 1 year. To do this, you have to prove that you need your licience for your work and you will suffer extreme hardship (ie lose job , house etc) if you loose your licience. You will then have to pay the fine and your legal costs . Cost me about $3000. And the Judge added that if i appear before him again then he will not be granting me a good behaviour licience again.

    Lakeside

Hi Mark, Porsche club as you know also do track days at Lakeside, but most likely on weekends. I think the time spent on Paul Stokell track days is quite valuable. He is a Lakeside expert. Especially with your permance monitoring, having Paul do at least one session in your car around the track for you to later analyse and overlay with your sessions is the smartest way to go. Then it is like everyone else says its bum in seat time on track and slowly chipping away at it. With some areas that I am working on- I asked him yesterday - Do you think we could go through the kink flat out and he said ultimately yes but there would be no room for error. He advised at least a dab on the brakes before turn in for some forward weight transfer. Im also working on the back half of track and trying to reduce understeer through the second last corner. I like this quote from "Lakeside Introductary Racemeeting": "As every one who has raced there will tell you - Lakeside is a DANGEROUS place. Do not interpret this as a dare. Many people have come to grief at Lakeside and some of them terminally. It is NOT a place to take unnecessary risks when racing because it will bite you and hard! "
  9. HI Guys, I still have the R35 Carbon fibre boot for sale. This would be of great interest to anyone looking to fit an aftermarket wing. Its crated up ready to ship anywhere. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ca...tml&hl=boot
  10. Its funny - before the cobb and custom tune, when changing to the slick tyres at the track i would get TMPS alarm until i changed back to road wheels. But now i dont see it any more when changing wheels back and forth. Ask the guys to see if they can program it out for you.
  11. Hey Drew, I got mine from Adam and it works fine. Plugged it in for both seats. No lights and no codes and it also means the airbag for the stearing wheel is still operational. Bill

    Lakeside

I'm glad you could make it Mark. It was a big turn out for the day. Great fun. The GTRs ran very well. and I was pleased to make a 5 sec improvement on my previous conservative time. I'm looking forward to the next Lakeside. Next box to tick is the revised Morgan Park.
  13. SlipR35, what happened to the T1 seats?
  14. Nice video Mark, It was interesting in the wet today - my 1st wet session. Its all good experience, so long as we keep it from hitting the wall. (Not all on the day were able to drive there car home today.) It was such a tease - only one session in the AM on new slicks before the rain. Many decided to call it a day after the 1st pm session, but I do wish i stayed out all day. Just a pic of Mark on the straight:

    R35 Build

sorry about prev post ... posted reply before i could edit it. Hi Mark , did you consider the OMP WRC carbon - $2889. I am thinking of going toward that style seat or racetech equivalent. The higher head restraint maybe a hinderance on the road. Since the defender already has lateral head support i dont think the head blinkers adding anything to the safety, just the price? Have you got any current info regarding the airbag sensor plug in 2.2ohm resistor.? As the Nagtroc link has its detailed info deleted. I asked the guys at Nissan can I buy the yellow plug and they said can only buy the whole wiring harness for the seat.

    R35 Build

  17. Well done to both Duncan and Marek. Can you guys describe how the new JRZs feel on the road and the track? Are they the tripples of the pro silent models? I know i have asked you previously, are you planning on sticking with the OEM sway bars? How much do you think the suspension contributed to the gains?
  18. Small rub of wire from tyre on upper control arm. Front left this was in the middle of the front left tyre - i thought maybe this may have caused a leak leading to the subsequent complete tyre failure. Front right - fronts are heavily scolliped out on the outer sections of the tyre. rear right
  19. The rim looks ok so far. It was funny we were just talking about having a tyre go at the track at lunch time . So I'm glad Paul noticed it on the main straight before he got to turn 1. Something else, in the previous session, Trent and Paul could here a sort of tyre noise as i went past. Paul was thinking of black flaging me. I thought it was just a marble of rubber stuck to the tyre. I even looked under the front of the car at the insides of both front tyres before that session to see in any canvas or tyre construction was showing through, but nothing was apparent.
  20. I have been running 19in Hoosiers R6 295 front and 315 rear for all my track days this year. The 1st set lasted 3 track days The 2nd set lasted about 3.5 tracks days. These days were all about 3-4 sessions am and pm I checked the tyres carefully after each session - especially the fronts This was the Left front. - the one most punished at QR I was just trying to get one more day out of the tyres before switching to 19in Michelin slicks. I was lucky we didn't go off track or damage the car. My take home message - Be careful trying to get that extra milage out of track tyres. Paul Stokell was driving at the time and just got a 56.1 with me in the car on QR sprint track. My best prior to his session was 57.4. After the tyre blew i put my near new Dunlops back on the car and got 57.7. I thought it was interesting that 4 day old Hoosiers are basically the same as the Dunlops.

    E85 For R35

I have Id1000s and will try E85 at track tomorrow. But on 98 noticest problems with long cold starts and hot starts . Also momentary loss of power at different areas on the rpm curve mostly under light acceleration loads but it also happens at 3500 and 4500 rpm at 50-75% thottle. This doesn't seem reproducable on the dyno. It may actually be the clutch pulling in for a split second. anyone have any ideas, or similar experience with large injectors running on 98?
  22. I would love to go, but i'm a bit put off by the cost. $3400 can buy a few track days. Does the Festival of Speed run a cheaper track session at Bathurst? Or any other group ? Some guys from the Porsche club went at easter for 2 days for about $1800 but I understand they may have had this subsidzed. I believe you, that this would be a very well run event.
  23. If anyone is keen i can open the crate and take actual photos. Im sure it looks better in real life. The new feet on the R2 wing are optional and don't have to be mounted with the uprights. Therefore producing a cleaner line and finish. I asked about any extra reinforcement required for the R2 wing and it seems that it is only required for the S2.
  24. My costs were $1494. But i would take offers over $1000. For those thinking of changing there wing i thought it would be easier to change the wing than swap boot lids. I was wrong. The OEM wing had to come off in 3 parts as it is held onto the OEM boot with the screws that we can see but also clips and adhesive. This makes it a difficult and time consuming task to change wings. Also removes OEM colour coded stickers, which i'm still trying to find from Nissan. So to refit the OEM wing will be a PITA. It cost me $800 at the shop to remove OEM and install the aeromotions wing. So swapping boots with wing installed starts looking like an attractive proposition. If only i knew.
