  1. only problem is, now the bonnet is pointing right at your face when you have an accident. There is always a possibilty that it could take your face\head off now..
  2. fan belt? mods?
  3. nah it was definately a GT30. it was a 700177 - 5011 52Trim Comp, 90 trim "Cropped" Turbine
  4. you are better off getting the kits that slip in with the spark plugs and detect cylinder pressure. They are about the same price as this
  5. 250kw 760 nm would be heaps more fun to drive
  6. yeah, well, I made the mistake of buying the nismo from nengun - $400 for it, and it took 6 weeks. They decided to send it after a few abusive emails. Then the prick got smart with me! Nengun = lose Greenline = win Nismo pump = double win check out the excellent quality. Came with an eom style bracket, new o ring for the access cap, and all sorts of shit. NO assembly is required.
  7. are you able to explain this in a little more detail?
  8. This doesn't make sense? The block is buggered. The Bearing cradles are rooted.
  9. other than the scrape marks that look normal, I can't see the problem re-using them? Mind you, there are a couple of grooves. Wouldn't mind hearing what a few engine builders have got to say.
  10. Just remember that UAS Extrusion hone the factory manifold to produce 25% - 35% more flow for $500. Factory manifolds can be had almost for free. I'd definately look into that.. So a search for "Extrusion" and "UAS" I'm sure you'll find plenty of info. There is a thread where they flow test etc.
  11. I agree 100%.. uleh? rofl This thread is a crack up. I have a spare dipstick assembly, but the Dipstick handle is cracked. Definately usable though.
  12. I am going to, going to keep the head and pistons. I just want to know if the pistons are ok to use.
  13. actually, engine went for 20,000kms before the car was sold, and the new owner was supposedly doing lots of rev limiter burnouts. (only had the car for 2 weeks before it blew. He said he found 2l of oil in the catch can. I assume this was another "all the oil in the head \ catch can and sump starved" oiling issue.
  14. Just letting everyone know before you read on that this WASN'T my engine, but an engine that I bought from someone that blew theirs. I got it cheap, and the Head is in excellent condition (ported etc) Hi everyone, I just pulled down a RB25 that had a bottom end failure (Spun every main bearing, and some big end bearings) Are these pistons ok? There are a few marks on the skirts. The rest of the pistons look like new. Can the skirts be cleaned up? The bores have these marks on them obviously where the piston skirts have been rubbing. Is this normal? I've seen other engines like this, so I assume so? There are no deep grooves in the bores like there are on the pistons. ok, here is the rest of the bits you'll want to see. Looks at the cradle........ fark..
  15. yes another good point - stock bov NEEDS to be plumbed back - it leaks on idle
  16. ahaha ok mat, since you were a good sport about it. The IAC valve allows air to pass into the engine when the throttle body is shut. This allows the engine to breathe while idling. The ECU adjusts this little valve on its own. A spot anywere just before the throttle body on the pipe is fine. Just to double check - you are using standard injectors with the standard ECU right? If not, this wouldn't work well or at all..
  17. AHAHAHAHHA f**k, mate, you make me laugh. 1. You are trying to run bigger injectors, with a factory ECU - BAM, car won't run, or like shit. 2. As grogor pointed out - sounds like you've blocked off the IAC valve - ahahaha no wonder it won't idle if you have really done this.. You seriously thought hte car would actually run, or even limp setup like this? Sorry about all of the laughing, but seriously - these are some pretty stupid things to do..
  18. does not sound like an air leak at all. This is a AFM \ Sensor issue. I'd be gettign another AFM to test, or another O2 sensor. Maybe you could just turn it off on your ECU. If you Don't have an aftermarket ECU - Then don't expect any further help from me lol.
  19. yeap, a blown turbo is perfect for a highflow, so you can swap it with your perfect working standard turbo for $350 - $400 Blown turbo is worth about $150
  20. It would need to rev to at least 8,500
  21. ahhh shit I forgot go and get a dirty old RB30 bottom end, hone and re-ring it, and put your RB20 head on that. Should cost you less that $500 and give you bucket loads more power. You'd only be off the road for a weekend. I'm 90% sure the RB20 head requires absolutely no modifications to fit onto a RB30 block. Talk to cubes - he did it. Ran 300rwkw for about 12 months??
  22. they're only giving you shit because they can afford to get one... I love my r33, and I'm not owning it to be a poser, I'm owning it to run 11's....
  23. I assume they won't drop straight into a RB25?
  24. powerfc's have been proven to work reliably with autos..
  25. its either a high flow, or the dyno is happy by about 20rwkw.
