  1. I completely understand...
  2. Thats a waste of methanol...
  3. They are a fraction cheaper, but they won't sell them to you because they don't like to undercut their australian dealers. I've tried it. Trust me, best option is to grab one of Full throttle performance. Best $850 I ever spent. Oh, and you neer ever have to use octane booster again, and that saves quite a bit of money over time. I remember when I was buying drum after drum of toluene, that alone would have paid for a WM kit that would have been so much better.
  4. I managed 4 seconds with 3 other people in the car (stopped wheel spin) Car has a GT3037 with the supporting mods.
  5. you can use something similar that they sell. Not sure how bad of an effect it has on the motor though
  6. If you buy a cheap half assed kit, you will get a cheap half assed result. $850 for a kit is not overpriced - Considering you get a Shureflow pump (worth over $300) wiring, 3 nozzles (these are top of the range nozzles) and a variable controller with inteligence built in. They creat a nice linear curve of pressure so that you aren't simply turning the pump on full at some pump making a dead spot visible. They start at 0% pressure and work their way up to 100% depending on how youve adjusted it. Saves water and methanol too. These kits also have a output for an addon called saftey injection. THis is hooked up to a solinoid, and is plumbed in around your boost controller so that if you run out of water, instead of your motor going bang, it opens your wastegate and runs minimum boost until you resolve the issue. It can also output to a haltek input which changes to less agressive maps... Trust me, if you buy a $400 kit, you'll regret not spending that bit more. Don't be lazy and read the thread?
  7. GTR with a T51r is probably good for a P plater.
  8. RB26 Plenum - Does this come with the Throttle bodies, if not, are you able to supply them. If this is with the throttle bodies - then sold to me. But please, I want first preference after discussion. Thanks - PM Sent
  9. does anyone here that browse SAU know how to type english properly? Getting sick of all of this SMS speak...4 threads tonight... Last time I checked, computers used full keyboards..
  10. learn to type, and people might answer you.
  11. sorry mate but this is incorrect. Our Thread starter obviously has made a wise move and bought a Ball bearing turbo. Ball bearing turbos take forever to spin down, and you can hear them especially if you have a 4 inch bell mouth straight to a pod filter. Bush bearing turbos only take 10 seconds or so to stop spinning. Mine, even if its only been idling, takes over a minute. Those bearings laced with oil spin very very free, hence the long spin down.
  12. nah paul doesn't know The only way to get 3xxrwkw from a GTR is to get nothing smaller than a T88 or HKS T51r.
  13. mine takes about 60 seconds or more to spin down after you turn the engine off. As long as you drive steady before you shut the car off, this is normal. Don't rev hard it and turn it of straight away, not a good idea.
  14. Not bad at all dale, you've done well. I can't get over how flat that AR is - and you tuned on the road! I don't think 13psi is enough though, get 15psi - 16psi into her and you'll get a better figure.
  15. get a set of forged pistons, and there is a user "roguepi" on ebay that sells good rods for RB25, RB26, and RB30. Get a set, some big end bearings (ACL) and a new head gasket. There will be a few other things you need and I am sure the rest of SAU will help.
  16. High flow and stock ecu = bad. Spiked to 16psi, you got detonation, and killed number 3's ringlands. (Compression test shows that. Engine rebuild time.
  17. another dose thread.......wtf?
  18. I bet that wasn't the engines fault... Well, I had no idea that the person wanted to purchase the engine to put into a skyline. But unless the car is already a GTR, there is still a lot to do fitting wise.
  19. no need to be a jerk. Its comments like yours that ruin discussions thinking you know all and that your shit doesn't stink? Tell me where you've seen a standard RB26 head, and a Standard RB30 bottom make over 400rwkw? Not a chance. My best mate, not a guy that I barely know, a guy that I hang out with all the time, visited his car on the dyno, raced beside him down the strip, and uploaded his videos onto youtube for him has a stock motored Supra making 450rwkw. no aftermarket cams, nothing. Head hasn't NEVER been taken off. Compression test revealed the engine being within 5% of a new motor, and it runs 10's in a car that weighs a lot more than a skyline or VL turbo. we are looking way too much into this - a guy wants a cheapish reliable motor to make big power and the 2jz wins in that regard hands down. He's got a choice - spend well over $10,000 on a RB26\30 or spend less than that for a motor that can do the same, standard setup.
  20. Think about it - to get a RB26 \ 30 to have as much power as a 2jz as safely as a 2jz, you'd need to spend $10,000 to $15,000. Easier to buy a 2jz for around $4k - $5k? And standard.. will run up to 500rwkw.. ....
  21. not at all - we fell short and are still taking orders anyway so jump in and enjoy the ride
  22. yeha running methanol.. THis supra is a bog standard engine running 30psi with a water methanol injection kit. Those STock RB25's last about 5 runs then they are dead. THis supra has run down the strip at least 30 times. They did a comp test and it was perfect. I still think if you want big power and longevity, the 2jz is the way to go.
  23. I don't think the pistons are forged though - I think they are "pressed" not forged. But are still better than standard cast pistons like the standard skyline ones. Cubes - TheRB30 that run 10s usually do it easy dude to such a light car. Seeing a Supra with a HKS T51r, on a standard 2jz, completely unopened, running 10's at 134mph is really amazing. Thats at 30psi also. Been for a run in it, and it scared the shit out of me...heh heh. As I said before, look up "fus01" on youtube - I uploaded those videos for him. Very close mate of mine. (Currently in Rehabilitation, poor bugger was almost killed in a head on. Was driving his brothers ute to airlie beach)
  24. that post was probably the most informative and truthful post in this thread. And with a reply like this one quoted, I hope you get flamed to ashes. A mines ECU IS USELESS unless you have someone to tune it. If you leave it how it is it will be exactly as it states - a mine. Your engine will go kaboom. and AVCR is not engine management, its a boost controller.
  25. keen to see results!
