  1. I'd definitely come down and help out if there was anything I could do! Did you watch this I tagged you in last night Ben? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_1QEFdHSps
  2. Couldn't agree more - I am considering a Toyota Prado, trailer, and R32 GTR set up for time attack. Maybe an R34 GTR In the garage for those sunday afternoon drives, it would be stock and not super low of course. I'm really hoping these guys sort out the policing mess that the Newman state government has put us in.
  3. withdrawals after 2 months? Try doing all that work and then having someone else write the car off, and not having one for 3 years haha
  4. Soon hopefully, I know how this shit drags on, mine took forever to get back onto the road.
  5. Where are you sending the clutch to? Jim Berry?
  6. So are there any firm instructions on how to get the BNR32 ECU to work in a BNR34? Ie, all wiring mods needed? I have one here ready to be nistuned but don't know for sure what needs to be done. I have only seen instructions for the BNR33.
  7. haha go for it Callan. We're all mates.. post whatever you want. Always happy to read about a good build.
  8. Probably a bit late but do you still have these? How many Kms have they done?
  9. Get forgies AND rods. Spool imports makes a kit, its about $2k for everything you need. Forgies, rings, bearings, bolts etc. Rods are good for 900hp /9000rpm
  10. I may be a bit paranoid but I think it always pays to avoid the police as much as possible, haha. I used the standard VHT black on my engine block, and it worked really well. Its good shit. Never used the wrinkle paint though. Its probably safe to assume that all their products are high quality.
  11. All makes sense, and it should be nice and tidy. One thing I have always hated is stepping up and stepping down, adapters, and other shit. I painted mine black, but the paint seemed to come off easily - might want to look into that. I never bead blasted it though so maybe the paint will stick better to yours. I also have the philosophy that traffic police are closely related to Eurasian Magpies (A particular bird that likes to collect shiny things) So maybe paint it black
  12. I though that might have been the case. When I had the throttle body adapter on mine it stuck out a fair bit but we still managed to get the pipes to fit. Was still annoying and shitty looking though. Took up valuable WMI installation space too. The only thing that I can see that might bother you with 3 inch piping is throttle lag, and loss of bottom end. Bigger pipes slow the air speed down and make the 2.5L a little sluggish below 3,000rpm. That type of inlet manifold doesn't help either with the bigger runners. But you installed cams didn't you? If so, what size? That should help. I had a set of 256 Tomei poncams, and they were great. The 3.0L loved them, was really torquey down low. If I was to go back and do it all again, I would get someone to weld my factory TB straight onto the manifold somehow. I think that would be the best option, but that's just my opinion. The Q45 will be ok, but might be a bit jerky down low when cracking the throttle. You'll get used to it though. As I said earlier, just remember to fix up/increase the accell enrichment so it doesn't lean/starve. Its all looking good though, I might drop around one day when you are free and have a look.
  13. Don't forget that you will need to adjust your accell enrich a fair bit down low with that new TB. Its fiddly but over time you'll get it right. Any reason why you went that big?
  14. Found this: This responsiveness is even more amazing considering the Skyline's uneven weight-distribution of 57% in front and 43% in the rear. Usually a layout like this would be expected to be dominated by understeer, but due to ATTESA's intervention, the car is given a more sportive, rather oversteering character. Be careful though, pushing the car to far to its limits may result in a sudden loss of grip at the rear wheels - partly because of the uncompromising Bridgestone tires.
  15. Does anyone have any suggestions for spring rates? As I said, I won't be racing it much at all, its mainly for the street. And I have to be mindful about my back, as since some last retarded piece of shit ran a red light and hit me, my back isn't too flash. I'd like a firm ride, but not rough as shit lol.
  16. I was thinking of sticking to the factory spring rates, and lowering the car. Because the car will be lower I figured it would be slightly more rough/rigid than standard anyway. But I will look into the weight distribution of the car and see what suits it best. Going to go for a set of Tein Monoflex, and the new G Sensor/active auto dampening. Just need to know what spring rate I want because I won't be racing it much at all and want it to have a nice ride on the street.
  17. Thanks for the reply - I might get aftermarket gear to match the factory balance. Does anyone this this is a bad idea? I'll either stick with 4 Front 5 Rear, or maybe 5 front 6 rear. Its just mostly going to be a street car so I don't want it to be too rough - our roads are shit.
  18. Hi Everyone Can anyone confirm this: Front 4.0 kg/mm Rear 5.0 kg/mm (source: GTR mag) Usually the front is more than the rear, but in this case, it isn't? I'm trying to choose springs to get for my new setup, and just wanted to know a few things about the factory setup. Can any one help out? Thanks
  19. Just an offer, feel free to ignore - $100 posted.
  20. Woo, found it. Thanks anyway http://pioneer.jp/press-e/index/1474 Its too old, no Australian radio bands either. Ah well, I'll find something to replace it
  21. Hi everyone Simple task - This is the best picture I have. I have just purchased a GTR out of Japan and I want to identify this head unit so that I can make the decision whether I need to replace it or not before it gets here. Can anyone help out? I have searched google images for the carrozzeria model and get different ones to this one. Any help would be greatly appreciated Jono
  22. Found them, thanks for that. I've asked him if they are still available. Definitely don't want a hard spring rate, its mostly for street use
  23. Just a few comments in this forum that say that Tein isn't all that great. Not sure why. This is what I had in mind: http://www.rhdjapan.com/tein-edfc-active-controller-kit-70253 Its wireless, and you can add more so that each corner is controlled independently. I'd love to see how this felt
