I'm about to try a RB25 Exhaust housing machined to a GT30 core, with the TO4S 7 blade wheel, and a .7 comp cover. Hopefully it will eliminate the massive lag I have.. This VG30 edx housing I purchased "pre ground" I think was ground too much. Perfect for a 3l bottom end, though.

I've got a Aftermarket SI grill. Its black, and looks like SII grill but will bolt onto a SI. You can have for $40 PP if you like. No cracks, but the mounting is a little corroded (perfectly usable though)

update: Managed to get a standard RB25 exhaust housing and dropped it into the turbo dude in mackay here. On Sunday, I am going to remove my GT30 and drop it into him on monday and he is going to grind up the RB25 housing to fit. I told him to grind it as little as possible to fit in the turbine. He said he needs to leave 100thou clearance for heat expansion. So, yeah, the weekend after australia day, saturday morning first thing, I'll be re-fitting the turbo... Hope it works out......... Also, I am getting him to measure up the VG30 housing against the grinded RB25 to see if the VG30 has been overground. Will be interesting to see. While the turbo is off, I am going to fit the "7" heat range plugs (cooler plugs) to see if it stops a little bit of pinging. Maybe I'll get 3 or 4 degrees advance into it from that. We'll see. I was told the colder plugs will only affect starting, and when they are cold, I might have to crank it over one extra revolution before it fires. Anyone got any extra input?

I got a set of 6 x nismo 550cc injectors - $950 from nengun. They drop straight in. Remember to get new seals from nissan ($10) Tuner said they were the best he'd seen, and said that they had an excellent spray pattern. You can't go wrong with these. Don't f**k around with Sards and collars. You'll regret it.

dipshit, I did the mods myself. I don't tune, because I don't have the equipment. You started off with the smartassed remarks, and you went on about why your car isn't pinging... thats just a dumb question... I know enough about tuning to know that its not pinging for a reason...which is probably good... you want it to ping... go and fuel up with 91 octane fuel..

you're the one being all "secretive" etc about your supporting mods. I've got a FMIC, 4inch intake, Q45afm,full exhaust, 550cc injectors, walboro 220lph fuel pump full front dump pipe, hi flow cat, 3.5 - 4 inch exhaust, Garret GT30 550hp turbo, Powerfc and hand controller, FC-datalogit they are supporting mods. You complaining about your new "turbo" not causing the car to Ping is just plain stupid. Pinging is bad, and f**ks your motor. The smaller standard turbo is a hairdryer at 14psi and the hot air causes the fuel to detonate. A bigger turbo may to higher boost and be more efficient, but if you haven't got supporting mods to get the fuel in there its going to go band and you'll be looking for a new motor. So you've just bolted ona big turbo, wound up the boost to see if it will ping. You've got a remapped ecu that is certianly not tuned for your bigger turbo... There is your problem. You can't hear all pinging. It'll be rattling those forgies left right and center and you won't have clue till you start seeing blue smoke in the rearview mirror. Dumbest shit ever. Go and get your car tuned properly before you kill it. if you had of Listed your mods to start with, explained what you've done, and didn't be a smartassed prick about it you might have gotten better answers. You wonder why people have got no idea what you're on about and can't help you? Noticed the scattered posts that people have left here with no idea? ok, both of these are on 12 psi First one is the first tune, second one is the touch up tune.

I think the VG30 may have been ground out too much.

it can't be, the lean spot is the tuner backing off the throttle, hence going to a lighter load point, also why the power drops off..

I;d see if you have a bugger fuel pump, or maybe a stuffed turbo. Take it to a mechanic if you aren't sure about what you're doing.

ahh sorry mate. maybe get a SAFC or something? They do pretty good.

ok, now has anyone set this up successfully? I tried it and it didn't work. I heard on the grapevine that it only works with the powerfc Pro?

then a powerfc, boost to 12psi, tuned and you'll be fine..

can you tell me what the lag is like? I have a GT30 with a VG30 rear too.. Full boost in second at 4900rpm..........

1.1 housing on a RB25 will boost at about 5000rpm too....maybe 4800rpm.... .86 is the biggest you'd go on a RB25

omg, you're running a stock ECU? what a freaken waste... Go and buy an Apexi PowerFC and hand controller for $950, get it tuned and you will be fine. So many people make the mistake... Get the ECU, fuel pump., exhaust..fmic BEFORE you upgrade the turbo! The turbo should be the last thing that you increase in size.

how much boost are you running? 12psi and above and you hit the factory rich and retard maps to protect the engine.

can I give you $100 for the turbo?

I'd love to know what these supporting mods are.. Fuel pump and a fulleh sick BOV?
