  1. yeap, exactly the same with mine. Its the stock ECU, is flat spot city at 5000rpm. As soon as I installed the PFC, ****en awesomenes.
  2. I'd ditch the ecu and get yourself a powerfc, or if you really want something that has alot of features (and so you can toss the afm) get a link, haltec, or autronic. ****, you'll get alot more power with a good tune, judging by the mods you've already done.
  3. My mate has a good one here, with the leather interior, hi flo turbo, producing 220rwkw for $13,000. He's a mechanic, so its been well looked after.
  4. get it laser cut. Thats how my mate did mine, and its pretty cheap to have shit laser cut ($50) or less.
  5. guys, another good question. Can the RB25 Hitachi Exhaust Housing be adapted to a Garret GT30 core, and if it can, can it be machined out to a .63 size? What sizr do they machine it out to when they Hi-Flo them? Shit, if I could get the Garret Compressor Housing, Core, and Exhaust turbine, whack on a HiFlo'd Hitachi Exhaust Housing, then I wouldn't need a dump or manifold. If he machined out the Hatachi Exhaust manifold, I'd certainly get him to increase the internal waste gate hole. Sound liek a good idea? would that be a bad mismatch?
  6. I just spoke to the turbo dude in my home town here. Says he can get me a GT30 for $1700 brand new, 500hp. Says if I get him a VG30 exhaust housing, he'll knock $500 off the price and put it on for me. What size is a VG30? .63?
  7. thats what I want to hear. Thanks a heap!
  8. Guys, I am looking to upgade my turbo. I've got these mods - FMIC Full Custom Exhaust (very good quality) PowerFC 225 lph Fuel Pump Stock BOV Steel Turbo to Pod Pipe, Pod is Shielded Standard AFM Standard Motor, Turbo, and Manifold Standard Injectors - and yes, I do know that I will need bigger injectors. Car is making 210rwkw and 420 nm of torque. Goes very well. I've got a great tuner. I want a 500hp Turbo to bolt straight onto the R33 manifold and dump, and want very little lag. I was told a .63 exhaust housing will be good for that, but lacks top end if I am chasing 280rwkw plus. I only want 250rwkw, but with lots of torque. www.horsepowerinabox.com has this - Garrett GT30 500hp ball bearing turbo This is the smallest of the T3 style ball bearing turbo's that Garrett do. It has a T3 base flange and normally comes with a .82 external wastegated exhaust housing. As standard has a .70 compressor cover and Garrett dual ball bearing internals. Great for 2.5 and 3 litre 6 cyl road cars. This unit can be supplied with a Nissan RB .63 Internally gated exhaust housing as a special order, providing a great bolt on upgrade... E-mail us about this. ** please allow 3-5 working days to manufacture** Price: $2,149.99 inc GST within Australia http://www.horsepowerinabox.com/HPIAB2/cat...ategory12_1.htm has anyone used something like this, and if so, can you tell me what kind of RPM it starts boost, and hits 1 bar? Was the car drivable (I would assume so) Mainly I want something that comes on fast and hard. Let me know your thoughts.
  9. all I can say is, take the intake piping off, and check your shaft play. Sounds like its finally given up.
  10. hehehe some people are just too serious to take a joke....
  11. you should replace it with a Tripple Super Sonic Trumpet Mouthed Fluttering Amplified Turbosmart blow off valve, straight away
  12. I agree. I am using a powerfc, and Standard BOV.
  13. heheh I knew there were more features, thanks for adding them. Our tuner in mackay loves them. Apexi PowerFc Standards are just an easy way to make a bit of power, you want to make alot, and have the tunability, get a link, or something different.
  14. well... If people read the difference between I wouldn't have to. Also, just because a tuner is shit, or doesn't know how to tune a link, doesn't mean they are shit, and you run all over the internet trying to tell everyone that. ok. Thinks the link has over Powerfc - Link Has Knock control Link has Launch Control Link uses the STANDARD boost solinoid on the R33's as a fully fledged electronic boost controller Link comes with all the gear to plug straight into a laptop Link ECU can have a MAFless tune Link ECU has MANY more tunable options. My advice, keep the link, get a tuner that knows what he's doing. There is a Tuner here in Mackay that specialises in Links, seen his work, he's tuned lots of 300rwkw+ cars, and guess what? He even tuned my PowerFC with the hand controller, and got 210rwkwn 420 nm torque, with it being a stock turbo, stock motor, FMIC and full exhaust. I good tuner will never say something is shit, just because they don't know how to use it properly.
  15. 300rwkws on a RB25 - Forged Pistons - $1200 Big End Bearings $? Rods - $? Garret 30-40 Turbo + Piping - $4000 Fuel Pump - $180 New, decent ECU - $1500 Clutch - $1000 Labour - $1500 hhmm This is all guess work But should be an idea for the RB25
  16. links are MUCH better than powerfcs... Read up..
  17. I have a standard turbo, with and apexi pfc FMIC, and full custom exhaust. Car is running 12psi, been like that for about 12 months plus, and I am always on boost (hence me fueling up alot ) turbo is fine.
  18. I ma also interested in this setup - but someing in more of a 500 - 550hp range, and internally gated.
  19. cubes, is this a Series 1 or series 2 turbo?
  20. I made 209rwkw, and 420nm Torque NOT in shootout mode, done on 2 different dynos. Is that good? PFC FMIC Pod filter & Partition 12psi Full Custom Exhaust and Hiflo Cat Standard Turbo, Standard Injectors, and Standard Fuel pump. Same mods without the powerFC made 141rwkw at 10psi I don't give too much of a shit about top power. I want torque..
  21. It'll be the syncro's. Mine is the same when its cold. A gearbox recon will set you back up to $1500. So it might be worth doing it all t once.
  22. great thread - have a read... Its about alot of clutches http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=69220
  23. I've asked this question many tiems too. 80% of honest people say "no, just get it machined." Everyone talks about lightened flywheels, but not really worth it, the factory one was designed quite good. Talk to Jim Berry... He'll tell you some good honest things.
