  1. well, you heard correctly, being a bit of a turbo n00b myself, I can tell you that they do hiflow these turbos up to around the 400hp mark, and add steel wheels. Problem is, they are still a bush turbo. You want a ball bearing turbo. I have yet to upgrade my SII turbo..
  2. come on dude, tell us. I am on my way, just waiting for the tune now. The Powerfc on factory maps = 200km out of a tank. I have - Split Dump all the wat to the Cat Hi Flow Cat 3"5 Exhaust, 4 inch Cannon Front Mount Intercooler (stock plenum and BOV) Partitioned Pod Filter HKS Exhaust cam Pulley (not fitted yet) Apexi Power FC + Hand Controller Bleed Valve set at 10psi 18" 235 Treads 10% Mix of Toluene Stock Turbo Currently on about 150rwkw Aiming for 200 - 210rwkw after the Tune. Apparently its very possible.
  3. mine is this high too.. I will do this ground mod on the weekend, or even tonight and we'll see what happens
  4. I bet $100 there is a way to do it without opening up your PowerFc's ECU housing. Its called software hacking... I am no pro, but I understand how it works, and there would most certainly be a way
  5. its about the wiring loom actually. I'd assume when they transplanted the engine, then also did the wiring loom to match it, unless the Neo6 has the same wiring as a R33 motor. Be careful dude. If you have a R34 ECU, then a PowerFC for a R34. If you have a R33 ECU (which I don't think would work with a Neo6 cause they are slightly different) then get a R33 power FC.
  6. the advert is also very poorly worded. The advert looks alot like a lie just to get you to buy the inferior product.
  7. fuel pump dude, and then look at getting a Z32.. Mine hits 5.1 volts at 6500 rpm, but there are ways in my powerfc to fix this
  8. linkage fixed my good friend
  9. here, I hope Boostd doesn't mind, but I have got the Excell Spreadsheet here for download as a zip http://members.iinet.net.au/~sennan/fcmap.zip (right click, save target as)
  10. has anyone else got some maps that they want to share with us, to compare, that may not be so aggressive? Just a little worried about blowing pistons to pieces...
  11. I am sure that the GT-R owners with PFC's would LOVE that, do it dude. Its a world of knowledge sharing I say. If I could give anything back ,I would be more than happy to I have some questions for this mapping you have sent. Why are some values in red? Are they of some importance or need to be monitored? And if I enter the 2 top maps in, then thats exactly what you have? Those graphs are just plotted from your maps right? (Sorry for my ignorance, I am not very good at this sort of tuning. Seems like you have a bit of a nack!
  12. sorry for bringing up a very old thread, but the link doesn't work.. can you email it to (email removed) ??? I would love to put these setting into my powerfc
  13. pinging doesn't mean that your car is gonig to do it all the time. Its can be * Bad Fuel * Ignition timing too advanced * Bad tune Get someone to tune the car and you'll be right. Just because the car is pinging, doesn't mean it has a "disease" and with ping all the time. Just recitfy the problem, and get it compression tested to see if any damage was done during the time it pinged (if it was hard and bad detonation)
  14. thats weird, cause I have only about 150 rwkw at the moment. I wonder why the hell its maxing out? I have a pod filter (k&n) and an inceased turbo to pod pipe (stainless with partition) Maybe there needs to be a correction set in the powerFC ?
  15. I am running 10psi... Should the stock AFM be able to handle that? Weird.. ? Anyone else
  16. Well, I was wondering why the engine light was coming on at 6500 RPM for a half a second so I consult to the PFC manual, and it says that detonation is 3 quick flashes. Reading a little further and it reveals that the air flow meter is maxing out if it comes for a half a second at and part of the RPM range. heres the pic (taken with my phone in the dark, sorry about the lack of quality) As you can see, I have half then fully nailed it, changed gears, then backed off. The Left hand side of the graph is 5.0 (5.0 volts) and that little bar scraping along the bottom is the knock level. Don't you just love the monitoring of the powerfc? I think its awesome for diagnosis. Ok, so apparently when the stock airflow meter hits 5.0 volts, it maxing out? Do I need a bigger one like a Z32? My car - FMIC Custom split Front and Dump pipe all on one 3.5 inch exhaust with high flow cat and 4inch cannon NGK irridium tip plugs (.8mm) (these are pretty damn good, they don't get dirty) And of course, a Power FC.
  17. mine does this too.. Sounds liek the car is sucking back or something.. Not sure but I'll monitor this thread and let you know if I find the problem. Its just as you shut the motor off right? ass soon as it stops you get a suck back kind of noise?
  18. sorry to bring up a old thread and ask a dumb question, but what is the "CAS"
  19. well... Removed the Blowoff valve return hose and blocked it up, and the car started blowing heaps of black smoke (running mega rich) and then when I put it back on, the car wouldn't rev any higher than 2000 rpm before stalling. Had to reset the PowerFC and idle tune it again. Car runs fine again. Can someone explain why it does this, and tell me a work around this blow off valve misshap?
  20. well, higher boost means the density of the air in the cylinder is higher, hence creating more resistance between the spark plug gaps. Then more energy is need to ignite them. You could either get some sort of a booster to make a stronger spark, or close your gaps so they are close thus requiring less power to mark the contact arc to ignite the fuel.
  21. right on the money The Stock turbos go between 80,000 and 120,000 rpm... hence the idling required before you shut the motor off to feed them oil while the spin down to a low enough speed. The whistle is normal. Mine whistles, and apparently its the air going throught the air flow meter wires, or the turbo sucking in all that nice air. If you open the intake up, and the dump pipes the turbo is going to get more air, hence the whistling. So stop panicing dude, its just air noise. Learn to love it.. Cause I absolutely love that noise... You know the bitch is working
  22. well, I put BP 95 Ron in and it knocked up to about 30% Then put Shell 95 in and it only knocked to about 10% Got any hints for a little self very basic tuning?
  23. Well, I have had it in for almost a week now. Anyone got any hints on what I can do to it before I take it to the tuner. The whole "It will detonate its ass off" is one big myth. I put 95 Ron Premium in my car (best we have in Mackay) and run it, and I get 5% knock out of 100% which is most likely just engine movement in the bay. Anyways, anything I should look at? That is simple? I am a complete noob to tuning and don't want to blow my car up. I have - 3 Inch Split Stainless Dump and Front pipe all in one (custom by mate) 3 - 4 Inch Through the high flow cat and to the cannon FMIC Stainless Steel Pipe to Pod Filter and turbo Blowoff Valve is plumbed back Apexi AVCR at 10PSI Car runs good, but sounds like its running rich as. Not sure though.
  24. I have the RX7 one too, but its got things missing that I need to look at. Anyone got a R33 one in english?
