  1. At 8.2:1 I got 155psi per cylinder. What sort of gauge are you using?
  2. List your mods? Maybe it's the T88 turbo?
  3. Leave it as is and the VCT will still work. You might have to block it on the engine block though. Not sure why you'd go back to a 2.5L though.
  4. You are right, but the reason I think they are a crap plug is because they are expensive and give no more value than copper plugs.
  5. 8.2:1 is a standard NA RB30E block and RB25DET head. With 20 thou taken off mine was estimated to be 8.35:1 So with 60thou taken off I'm estimating around the 8.65:1 mark. But this is a very avergage estimation. I'm assuming with tapered chambers etc the more you take off the greater it goes up. But, I am sure that you compression will be well under 9:1. The reason your have blown your ring lands off 4 pistons, is because of the tune, and driver abuse. I'd even put money on that.
  6. Plug gaps should be 0.7-0.8mm. Iridiums are crap plugs too. Coppers are fine. Gap the plugs down and I can almost guarantee the miss fire will go away. If not, it's time for a set of split fires.
  7. Base timing should be 15 degrees but it never hurts to check. I'm not sure that the Q45 TPS will be able to talk to the ECU properly? Have you checked the TPS voltages in consult to see if they are scaling properly?
  8. Between a q45, no bov, and Freddy intake manifold, the factory ECU won't be liking that at all. Can you get decent aftermarket management and tune it? Also, have to checked your base timing?
  9. Gain definitely needs to be turned up.
  10. Are you sure that turbo is capable of pushing that much HP at the wheels? It's only meant to be able to push 550hp at the flywheel on paper.
  11. No worries. So you just take your nose out of your ass shove your nose up the exhaust and have a sniff, and go "Yep, shes safe enough, thats about 16:1" My whole point - Unless you have a wideband you have NFI. So is it worth the risk. I've also seen cars cruise fine at 17:1 without a miss. Wonder how those exhaust valves are doing. Who knows. But nah, she'll be right hey. Just spent $6k on a turbo upgrade, its just money. Who gives a f**k about the engine. Its ok though, my cars will always be safe. And the people that listen to my advice.
  12. Not really hey, I've seen the AFRs after many of these upgrades and I know for a fact that they run lean and its not advisable to drive them far or at all. So, dribble your shit elsewhere. I wondered the same thing, but I've seen it on a few cars. I'm thinking that at 2,500rpm and above the turbo is spooling a tiny bit, making the air path easier into the motor. Being a bigger turbo, its able to help more air into the engine. Think about it, at those revs, the turbine is spinning at a notable speed. The compressor would be "helping" the air get into the engine easier on vacuum, allowing it to breathe easier. What had been tuned to 14.5 - 14.7 afrs on cruise, I'd seen go above 15. Also caused the engine to run a little hotter at cruise due to being a little leaner. Not all but a number of cars.
  13. Avoid driving it dude, because lean afrs on cruise can and will burn your exhaust valves.
  14. Actually, I changed turbos 3 times also. Yeah, the car ran "fine" in your idiot language. But, when I plugged in the wideband and checked the readings, it was lean. Dangerously lean over 2k. So if it's running lean over 2,000rpm but it seems it's "running fine" then how is safe or "running fine"? Oh, that's right, you're just some toss that listens to what some inexpeienced random else tells you or gets someone else to do the work and thinks you actually know something even though you have no clue and I've seen it with my own eyes. Yeap, the R33 is gone and I got a very decent insurance agreed value payout for it. Even more after I wrecked it for parts. So, your attempt be an ass blew up in your face. Have fun eating dicks.
  15. Well you must be retarded then. I did this exact upgrade years ago and when I checked the AFRs they were as lean as f**k over 2,000rpm. (Car had a perfectly good 210rwkw tune in it with the stock turbo running 13psi) So no, it is not safe or advisable to drive a car around untuned with such large modifications. Eat a dick. You're the idiot.
  16. lol I replied to a email notification... Didn't even realise that this thread or that post was so old. Guilt-Toy, you're still a legend!
  17. Because being a contributing member to SAU for many years, Guilt-toy he has a free ticket to having any of his content posted in the Forced induction section. Dickheads like you can go back to the wasteland and talk about wanking and reach arounds. Leave the real car modifying, and big boy talk to us.
  18. Is the IAC valve plugged in? We need more information on what has been done. For all we know, you could have bolted a bigger turbo, cams, injectors, blow through super charger, and hooked up a bottle of NOS. More information please, not just dribble it in as we need it.
  19. I'd say you're a complete fool for driving it without a tune but double check all hoses etc.
  20. $6K? I built a: Intel 2011 Socket 6 core "K" processor Corsair 16gig Ram Asus z78 Mainboard 2 x SSDs in Raid 0 Watercooling Nvidia card worth $600 Coolermaster HAF-X Case Corsair 1150watt Powersupply Total cost was $2.5k. If you're spending $6k on a computer, and you're an IT expert, you should leave this site and save us heaps of trouble becuase soon you will be a skyline expert asking us why your car stalls after you have fitted a chirpy, twisty, shiny, flappy ATMO BOV.
  21. lol no worries at all Always makes me laugh
  22. Maybe you need to increase the boost pressure and get a decent tuner? These turbos are good for over 400awkw.
  23. It's the fuel going through the FPR at a high pressure. But I'd go with a snake living there. Definitely send the owl to Harry potter.
  24. Purple = standard.
  25. You are a legend mate. I started to get sus about them looking the same, haha.
