  1. Apply heat to each screw apparently too. Not sure if that's correct, I'm sure someone else will be able to confirm.
  2. Surprised to see this!
  3. I had this - Make sure you have a decent catch can because you're going to dump heaps of oil over 4,000rpm
  4. Lol at another bov thread. How about you do a search for " bov stalling"
  5. It also depends on the position of the cas. If the car was tuned with the base timing not set, then the timing map won't reflect the true timing it is running.
  6. For starters, have you ever done anything tuning wise before? Don't e er touch your fuel without a wide and present. If you're worried about timing, you can take some out across the board. But you need to know what you are doing.
  7. I wouldn't laugh, I'll help you where ever I can, I'm pretty good with power fc's. There are heaps of others here that would help also. This is a genuine curiosity thing.
  8. Boost it man the bitches will love it
  9. Sure will. I think they are a direct replacement for a r33 turbo.
  10. looks good Callan, never thought of painting the covers black. Today was eventful. Tuned a RB25\30 with the GT3076, and Vipec. Fitted the boost solenoid, and configured all of the boost maps. The cool thing - The boost valve that Vipec sell as their own, is exactly the same as the Gizzmo boost control kit that I had in my R33. Anyway, holds boost perfect, set it to 18psi, and configured all fuel to nice and safe. Took a while to get the aircon idle settings happy but they are pretty close now. So many things to configure and get balanced out with the idle areas thats for sure. Might trawl a bit of the forum to see how others are having luck with it. Now we're just waiting for the Digital knock kit to arrive, so we can fit and I can start cranking more timing into it. Also going to set up the knock maps so the ECU can pull some timing if there is any knock detected. Lastly, there is a very advanced water meth kit being looked at, and then more timing if we get that fitted. I think he's going to wait until after xmas though. Getting depressed - I need to start get another car and get into my own projects again. But it was still a good day, its running beautifully and frying tyres easily, even with f**k al timing added. He's very happy.
  11. I had a gt3076 with a 0.63 rear, water meth injection, making 315rwkw, and 720nm of torque. Now that was an animal and pulled hard. Fish tailed at 100kmph when put back to 3rd gear and the throttle rolled on. Tyres were brand new 245 khumo KU31s. This turbo is bad, time to stop flogging a dead horse, lol.
  12. grab a dirty 3.0L bottom end from a wrecker yard and slap your head on it. Instant fun. Just remember to weld the VCT oil feed up though.... lol
  13. crop wheels = bad times. Been there. done that, you've got a dud. Sorry dude.
  14. I disagree. I've had them side by side, and they are completely different. The Autobarn one that I got was finished better than a greaddy (polished) but the parts and kit wasn't as good. This was very easily fixed for about $10 worth of bolts, and some vacuum hose. The ebay one had dags everywhere, and leaked water into the intake (I had it professionally pressure tested). The autobarn one is sitting on the car right now, doing a very good job. On an RB25\30 motor. ANd Zorro - Be prepared to spend about $2k changing your intake manifold, and getting adapters etc. And you'll need more to sort it out getting it running properly if you don't have other mods in place like a tunable ECU etc for the intake side change. Its not just a case of whacking it one and everything is sweet.
  15. you were running 15/16psi with problems, so you thought going to 25psi was going to solve it? BIt of extra boost will just "clear out the problems", like blow them out the exhaust? All its done is blown your rings and ring lands out of your exhaust. Its well and truly made sure your engine is completely rooted. Oil spewing out of the cam covers means blowby. Its your dipstick popping out too?? You're dreaming if you sit here "hoping" that its just a blown head gasket. Even after a compression test you still "want" it to be the head gasket. The engine is f**ked, bad. You need to pull it out, get it rebuilt, and never touch a boost setting on a car ever again in your life.
  16. I really hate it when someone comes in expecting us to look into our crystal ball and tell us their future power figure. These threads are a waste of everyones time. There is a thread, with 1 zillion results of all different kinds of turbos. Read, compare, and pick a turbo power curve that you like. Its even stickied at the top of this forum so that its easy to find. Believe it or not, this question gets asked VERY often. READ the forums, thats what they are there for.
  17. So, what sort of car? A monster truck with 5 hiclones, flame thrower kit, and monster tacho? List your freaken mods... And even tell us what car you're even talking about...
  18. Can't be a head gasket if oil brought the compression up that much from 90psi. I'd say that cylinder is about to grenade so I wouldn't even start the car anymore. And if this is a standard engine, why the hell are you running 25psi of boost?
  19. I also got a eBay special that leaked and was useless. Autobarn stock shiny ones that are excellent quality for $350 with all bolts and bits.
  20. oh dear. You are going to get flamed to the shithouse for posting this lol. But just to clarify, I bought 4. Two for the intake, one before the the electric supercharger, and one after the turbo. I also installed one before the cat converter, and after the cat converter. helped get the air in and out efficiently. I'm now thinking of buying a 5th one and installing it just before my ATMO BOV.
  21. Actually, I forgot about that. Take off the cam cover and it's stacks easier.
  22. Thanks status, you've saved me a lot of typing. To everyone else - STATUS could not be any closer to the truth. He's right on the mark.
  23. They're accessible, but it's very difficult. just persevere and get yourself the right tools. Also, be very patient.
  24. So I was right all along. I had this exact problem but you were slowly feeding us scraps with the mods, car type, etc then smartassed me about "reading your scaps" so I gave up helping. Anyway, glad its solved. Next time you post a thread, post absolutely everything about the car. Not - "fuel pump maxed out" "can't be, it's a nismo" Well, it was, and yes, it was maxed out. Due to low voltage.
