With a bit of imagination, you'll make it fit mate. Good luck.
-
good luck telling your missus how to tune while you are driving. You simply cannot tune without being absolutely focussed on the map. You can't do that because you are driving. So how are you gonig to be able to tell her what to change? Umm.. This is an accident waiting to happen. My suggestion - If you know how to tune, get someone that can drive to drive. If you don't know how to tune and think its just a simple thing like taking a piss - Then I can only wish you luck.

Won't take long for a turbo to go from 20psi to 40psi at 7,000rpm if the wastegate sticks.. And I doubt before you could react.. I was comparing it to another obvious situation... You know, dumbing it down.. Yes the gate may work, you seem to think its of high quality metals - But do you think these chinese backyard jobs are tested thoroughly, hot\cold 200+ times, abused, etc like a real wastegate manufacturer does? I highly doubt it. What if it looks ok to you, but that metal isn't cured properly, or forged correctly so that it slowly weakens over a few months, or warps and then siezes? Your engine goes bang, $10k down the drain, because you spent $10,100 instead of $10,500... Bit more of a perspective for you. Call the forum tasteless if you wish - SAU is the only place you're going to get all of this great knowledge - and from a bunch of guys who are just straight forward honest. And yes, I think they are all making the same point - Buy a cheap critical component that can kill you motor in a failure, and you're playing with fire. My comparison to bungee jumping is EXACTLY right on track with comparison. If you don't understand that, then I can see now why you went shopping on ebay for a wastegate.
-
It always surprises me when people spend good money on an engine, only to install a very cheap critical item that can completely destroy it. Would you buy the best bungee harness, best bungee rope, and then buy the cheapest chinese fittings to connect the rope to your harness that you could find on ebay, then go bungee jumping, with lots of faith? I certainly wouldn't. Then they blame SAU for tasteless comments and say its a bad place to be.

Help With Faulty Manufactured Turbo
The Mafia replied to johnny443's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yeap, common problem. Thats why you should stick with well tested brands like garrett. Skimping on costs usually causes more expense in the long run. And, if someone has to sell turbos on ebay, then they can't be that great of a brand. Also, having to run 18psi to make 229kw is pretty poor. It means your turbo is too small, or poor quality. You're asking for trouble running that much boost if your engine is standard too. -
Wrecking Complete R33
The Mafia replied to team carefactor's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
mate, I am keen on a piecec of the front, I'd have to take photos of what i am after, and you'd have to cut it off. But would you be interested in doing this for me? -
Rb30Et Flywheel On To Rb20Det
The Mafia replied to Rev limmiter basher's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
it would fit, but I'd be careful with the age of an RB30 flywheel. I'd find something newer, and not as prone to flying apart. -

You just wrote all of that, and you are still trying to justify making your car sound like a piece of shit, and damage the turbo? My R33 looked and sounded stock.. It didn't sneeze, wasn't loud, and I only drove it fast on the track. Cops persisted in poping the bonnet though. You know why? Because of dickheads like you, that need to seek attention. And, I never said I Was king because I hand built my own engine and tuned it. I was just making a point that I know the difference between the spanners you mentioned. Wow you have a 700hp xr6t. So has every other second guy in my town. I'm assuming you just took it somewhere, paid them some money to make it go fast (Flash edit, intercooler, valve springs, injectors).. I'm also mates with the guy that holds the record in the fastest XR6T in australia with a stock engine. And you know what? Big deal. And no, not everyone has owned high horsepower cars. My neighbor has not.. I couldn't agree more.. -

Well, you know what? Anyone I have spoken to has said that SAU is a very good site. I have never heard any of this crap about "SAU having bad rep". Maybe if you're some tosser going on about "fulleh sic dose" or a "BOV that makes the women get naked and dive into your car or makes some stupid f**king noise" you'll cop lots of shit.. Here, we build high horsepower engines, race cars, we tune cars, and share information. We don't talk about useless shit like making BOVs flutter. Where is the benifit of that? Does it gain high HP? no. Does it make your engine \ turbo last longer? no. Does it attract police attention? yes. Does it ruin the Skyline experience for people that obey the rules because of cops cracking down on tossers like yourself? Yes. Have a think about what you have said etc and then you might understand that this is a site of people that do real things. Not stupid useless things. -

Skylines Australia is the best place to go if you want real, and decent information. If you want shit, that will attract cops, and give the nissan skyline a bad name, then you will be told how stupid you are. And, about your comment regarding me not knowing the difference between a ring spanner and a ratchet.. Well, I built my own RB25\30 hybrid engine from the ground up. Yes, I am saying no engine bulders what so ever. I even tuned it because I tune PowerFc's, Links, and Vipecs. So, jam that into your blowoff valve and smoke it. Once again, good luck with the ladies hearing your BOV and getting naked and throwing themselves into your car. I ran 430rwhp at 18psi, with a Garrett GT3076, my own engine build and tune, and still had a stock standard BOV. -

mate, you're just a dickhead. Good luck attracting the cops, and I am sure women will strip off and dive into your car when they hear it instead of thinking you're just another wanker that drives around in a car that sneezes. -
I pulled all of my lifters apart and cleaned them. NEver had a problem with them after that.
-
the ECU isn't in the boot.
-
so you're saying that you can't drive steady 3 or 4 mins on the way home? Do you flog it up your street or something? And yes, 30 seconds to a minute is more than enough.
-
Nah its all good mate, I know you have good intentions. I've already got a stack of people wanting the engine, gearbox, diff, etc. Just let me know what you want and I will make sure its available. tell me about it. ahahaha - You're comment "Smashing your face in" is a f#$cken classic. Its funny because its f#cking true. Dude - And you know what? All those losers will be eating dicks, and well, they probably already do. This car is a weapon, and you guys have come so bloody far with it. well done for sticking to your dreams. Looking forward to seeing and hearing it hot 10,000rpm. I can still remember your dad talking about that. Saying that it will not be doing anything less. Determined. And good on him.
-
Thanks mate, the support is appreciated My heads been a mess lately. Dizzy, (slurring for the first week), forgetful, agitated etc. Doc said it all part of head trauma \ brain damage. Not permanent, but she said like any other body part, when its injured and needs to heal, it doesn't work properly either. Only downside is that the brain can't be shut down \ not used to help heal it, so it takes a bit longer. Said I should be back to normal in the next 2-3 months. Knee most likely needs surgery, hip pretty f**ked. Plus, air bags are c*nts. Its not like getting punched in the face, a fist is only a small area. An airbag smashes your WHOLE face at once. Much more spread out force. Anyway, how is your dads car going? I hear its getting close to completion. Looking forward to seeing it again.
-
Yeah man it really sucks ass. Whats even worse is that I think I may need knee surgery. F-U-C-K-I-N-G C-U-N-T. Thats all I can say about surgery. I've had too much of it lately. Here is a pic.
-
you may have answered your own question - You said the turbo timer may be acting up because it is not working properly? You do realise that it controls the ignition? Remove it an throw it in the bin anway. If you can't drive relatively steady in the last 30 seconds of your journey, you're a tool. They just waste fuel and breathable oxygen.
-
I tune them, but I am mackay. I also charge half of what a normal tuner does. My mates are begging me to come visit too, lol.
-
Callan, did you do it yourself? Any what did you do?
-
lol, I wasn't t-boned, I had a head on. Caught the headlight, and spun me, onto the fender.
-
I'm thinking a R34 GT-T, bayside blue Forged RB26\30 built by me GT3076 Turbo Lowered Roll cage 9,000 rpm 22psi of boost Would make a good track car.
-
I'm not sure what that is, but who told you it was a series 3?
