  1. thanks for the responses. I've tried to idle learn a number of times, but it didn't make a difference, because just remember that the rest of the map is super lean on the "correct" settings.
  2. Hi Everyone I've got a bit of an issue. I have to increase my injector correction too much in order to get my car to run properly. Here are the details: Nismo 555cc injectors Bosch 044 completely rewired to the battery Fuel Rail Checked PowerFC Settings: stock 370cc / nismo 555cc = 0.666666667 x 100 = 66% nismo 0.71ms - stock 0.52msec = 0.19msec The correct settings are 66.6% and 0.19ms lag adjust 66% and 0.18ms Lag time adjust = Car won't start 66% and 0.18ms Lag time adjust AND massive injector increase in idle load cells = Car starts and runs, heaps lean everywhere else. 72% and 0.18 ms Lag time adjust = Car starts and runs, and map is consistantly good for fuel 66% and 0.45 ms lag time adjust = Car starts and runs, and map is consistantly good for fuel Ok here are the catches. 1. Same problem with Nismo injectors, and Factory injectors. So its not the injectors. 2. Changed out the fuel pump twice. Same problem. 3. Changed the FPR, same problem. 4. FPR is getting good vacuum signal. 5. No Boost leaks. 6. Same problem on RB25DET stock, and RB25\30 with cams. 7. DaleFZ1 had the EXACT same setup (Injectors, Fuel pump, AFM, ECU, etc, and set to 66% and 0.18ms lag adjust and he had no problems. Here are most likely the only things that could be wrong now: 1. Injector Voltage. Multimeter says they are 12.3 \ 12.4 volts 2. AFM?? Could this have an effect? And why? 3. Kink in the fuel line? I'm hesitant on this one because the problem can be replicated at idle. A Kink would only effect mid to high load? Plus, with the doctored injector settings, the car runs ok with plenty of fuel up top. This is really a pain in the bum. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Do you still have the standard Injectors? Can I offer $50? Thanks Jono
  4. my mate had this happed, he thought he had it all out and bam, wrecked motor. He went to great lengths to get it all out too. Vac, etc. Maybe a borescope mate?
  5. oil pressure would be low without the banjo bolt in? Good luck..
  6. specs of your car? Are you running a T88 turbo with 2 bottles of NOS or a standard engine?
  7. Put the stock one back on so you don't sound like a dickhead, and stall all the time?
  8. This will replace any standard positioned R33 cat. Not sure about an R32. 3inch, right through. Looks like a real cat. $60 plus post ($14 postage) PM my anytime. Will send asap once money clears. Thanks
  9. when it isn't working, you should be able to get out and run faster than the car between 1400rpm and 4000rpm
  10. Hi Mate, not sure if you still have them, but when you say late model, you mean 98? I have a 1996 RB25 S2 with the Mitsubishi cas. Thanks
  11. if you don't have VCT anymore, then its just another place that can leak, and would be in the way I guess. Neater if removed.
  12. Loctite I guess. I doubt it will come out though. There isn't enough pressure or surface area to cause it to push out. I will post up how I go too. Interested to see if I have too much oil in my head or not.
  13. And ceramic is hard shit, so it will wreck everything inside an engine.
  14. The engines are pretty much identical. Its the electrics that aren't the same. Heres how I would do it: 1. Take out the RB25DETS1, leave all wiring in the car. 2. Remove all sensors from the RB25DETS2, and put them in a box, and put the box away. 3. With both engines on stands next to each other, remove the sensors one at a time, from the RB25DETS1 and put them on the RB25DETS2. **Special note** Here is an example - I do know the TB position sensors are different. If the S1 sensor won't bolt onto the S2 TB, then put your S1 TB on. 4. Drop the RB25S2 back in after you've done your maintenance (Timing belt, pulleys, rear and front seals, etc) only differences between the S1 and S2 is wiring, sensors and turbo. But this is all interchangable.
  15. Now that I think about it, 5 out of 6 plugs is clearly the stupid idea of cleaning then with the oxy. I'd make the tuner pay for the rebuild, and if he doesn't, then I'd be going to small claims. $20 in plugs has cost you an entire engine rebuild. Scratched bores, f**ked pistons, f**ked head, possible bent valves, etc. You're looking at $4k plus. What a major f**kup, and if the tuner says that you were the one that put the plugs in, come back at saying that you were following his orders.
  16. also, are you running an RB30? I can see the block ground down, and non oem head studs. That gives it away
  17. those marks on the bore - is that just oil residue? The head will need to be surfaced. Requires a full pull down of the head. The pistons - I wouldn't. If the bores are ok I would get new pistons, hone, and new rings. Bottom end should be ok. You installed the plugs... so its a bit blurry whos at fault here. Also, most NGK plugs have the V notch, and they are fine. If the guy said they are shit, then he obviously is pretty shit himself.
  18. a safe way to make it flutter? Seriously, you actually want to look like a dickhead? f**k, I swear the threads in this section get stupider by the week.
  19. There is a bit of scoring on the tunnels. Everyone says it will be fine, but make sure I change the cam shafts themselves as the journals are scratched with at least 1thou scratches. I need to check the thrust to make sure its ok. I'm sure it will be, but better to be safe than sorry.
  20. Standard everything else, RB25, Powerfc, injectors, FMIC, exhaust, and GT3076 with 56trim, 0.6 comp cover, a 0.63 IW rear housing, 18psi of boost. Full boost at about 3100rpm. Boost was on steady here to stop traction loss. Came on hard though, and at around 3000rpm as I said. Set up the 3076 properly, and it will not be laggy.
  21. bastard - what good are you? lol
  22. Because the women will get naked and dive into his car when they hear it... lol
  23. and the factory ones were never meant to run like this. This thread should be locked and the OP banned, and forced to sell his car and never own a turbo again. But give it a go, let me know how many women dive into your car naked when they hear the fully sic whoosh.
  24. Thanks Callan. Don't want to come over and measure it for me do you?
