8.36.1 Compression What Boost To Run?
The Mafia replied to 17psi r33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
My Old Specs: Stock Standard Motor with 100,000kms WMI GT3076, 0.63rear 18psi 98ron Supporting mods 314rwkw (420rwhp) 20psi, made 430rwhp 720nm torque from 3000rpm in third, all the way to the limiter. You need a new tuner, and more boost. I'd say about 25psi to equal a standard motor running 9:1 and 20psi of boost. Oh, and throw that head gasket in the bin, and get a 1mm gasket and raise the compression. -
For Sale: 1. RB25DET motor - 160psi Compression across all. 99,000kms. Excellent Condition. no TB, Fuel rail, aircon, PS pump, or CAS. Will come with Standard injectors and Coil packs. $1000. Free postage to Brisbane, but you'll have to pick it up from a Depo. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Split Dump \ Front Pipe to suit Garrett GT30r Rear housing Bolt Pattern all the way to the cat. Made 315rwkw on 18psi 3inch + Extra Wastegate Split Stainless, custom made. yeah, and its off at the momoent, and still is. Never missed a beat, and its been running at 20psi.

completely normal dude. When it is full of oil and spinning at 120,000rpm its a different story. Its will only be aboue 0.5mm. Side to side is the bad one.

Gtr Owners Question, Turbo Whistle/screaming Noise...
The Mafia replied to gwin's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Last time I hopped in a Skyline with a "screaming" turbo, the turbo was stuffed. Just be careful mate, I'd inspect it before doing anymore driving. A Stuffed turbo can equal engine failure. -
Car Performs Better After 2-3 Min Idle Warmup
The Mafia replied to stolen-gtr's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Its common knowledge to let any engine get to normal operating temperature before putting any load on it. Reasons: - Oil is as thick as honey and can't be pumped or splashed around as easily - Metal expands and contracts with heat. - Pistons are smaller so they expand in the block faster in the block making them slightly tighter until warm - Thick oil pushes out seals - Engine failure This should be taught at school. I can't believe some people don't know how obvious this is? -

rofl at this thread. Planting it to get boost while its cold? Good luck with the engine rebuild. -
Results Of Gt3076r With .63 Housing And Ex Gate
The Mafia replied to WYTSKY's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Ahh so another DE+T conversion. You know if I had a RB25DET and I blew the motor, I'd grab a DE and use that instead. Or even put DE pistons in a DET block to retain the oil squirters as Dale has mentioned. Wicked build nonetheless - I can imagine having that much compression, it would build boost FAST, especially running such a small rear housing. The reason my power levels are so close with a Turbo compression motor is because I run water methanol injection - and this means I can run a lot more timing. Imaging WMI on the DE motor... Would be insane.. Problem is, with such high compression, if the kit died it wouldn't take that long to kill the motor. But, I would think the DE motors are just as strong, if not stronger than the Turbo motors. This is just a guess but would the pistons have more meat on them, or is the gudgen pin height just a little lower? I love this thread - Thanks for sharing it with us mate. You're a champion. -
Results Of Gt3076r With .63 Housing And Ex Gate
The Mafia replied to WYTSKY's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thats true, maybe hey. My motor was just a stocko though. How is yours built? I didn't find it to be like a light switch, it was quick building, but definately had a progressive feel. If you really knocked it back a gear and hammered it it could come on like a light switch. Beautiful to drive though! Get your torque up if you can -

hey mate, that is awesome. Here is my dyno with the exact same setup: (GT3076, 0.63 rear, water meth, etc) f**king great effort! -
Hey guys. I have a Exedy Organic Sports clutch for sale. Details: Organic Single Plate Direct Stock replacement - Remove your old stock clutch, and bolt this one straight onto the stock flywheel. 3200 pound clamping force I ran 300rwkw and 700nm of torque. With 255 Semi Slicks on the back, the bastard still wouldn't slip with hard launches and sticky launch point at the drags. (This clutch saw the strip for about 10 runs) HEAPS of meat left on it (see pictures) You are getting an excellent clutch, and as I said its a direct stock replacement so its nice and simple to replace. Reason for sale - I changed my flywheel to a lighter racing style, and this won't fit the new flywheel. Pictures: These are nearly $700 new. I'll sell at $375 delivered. Its still going excellent and has plenty of life left in it. Contact me on: paceys[at]gmail.com 0439336407 (sms if before 5pm) or PM here. Thanks Jono
