  1. ahh Wolverine is right, I skimmed the 2540 mention. That will definately have a bit of surge. Once again though, don't worry, my 3037 has done it forever and has 0 shaft play.
  2. Good for you. The "idiots" that are smart enough to build their car to that and beyond that kind of horsepower usually are a hell of a lot smarter than you and don't actually do that. I am sure that if you actually knew a thing or two about what you were doing, you'd realise that you are introducing a massive air leak into your intake system to which your ECU won't be happy. Once again, this car was built for the track, and will be RACED on the track. Hence the brake upgrades, suspension, and extra handling added. I can tell you, it will out-handle your sneeze on wheels any day of the week. I also still laugh at your "vintage" statement knowing that your car is just as old as mine. 2 years difference in a 15 year bracket is barely anything at all. I wouldn't buy an R34 tank if someone gave me the money, or unless it was a GTR. I really wish SAU had a filter to prevent uneducated idiots like yourself from signing up and asking questions about BOVs when real people here talk about real things, like the actual physics of an engine, big horsepower and track days. Not buying a skyline because they think it is cool, and fitting a BOV immediately to get pedestrians attention to think "Another wanker in a car that sneezes". Yes, thats exactly what they think. I just think "another wanker in a car that has absolulely not idea how these toys work, has introduced a massive air leak in a closed air system to sound cool" But at the end of the day you're just another "look at me, my car goes whooosh"
  3. I find your counter response quite amusing. Especially calling my R33 a "beat up old heap of crap" considering my car is 14 years old and yours 12 years old. Not much difference there actually. So I guess they are both beat up old crap. Another thing - It’s built for the race track where I will enjoy it thoroughly. Where I find 300rwkw+ is quite justifiable for this purpose built car. Not driving up the main street of town, jerking fast than slow trying to make the BOV release. The police actually are harder on this - not over powered cars. While you're out the window telling some women "look at meh fulleh sic whoosh!" Some lady pushing a pram is going to walk out in front of you on a pedestrian crossing. I can also guarantee - The car is quieter than yours. Handles better. Brakes better. I don't get harassed either, and will get questioned considerably less, because its completely legal no matter how much power it is making, I drive it quite sensibly and don't approach street lights and crowded corners trying to make my little turbo go "woosh". I approach corners on QR at 200kmph+ On my "brakes". Good luck with the police, and beating off the naked women trying to dive into your car when they hear the BOV. Your ability to spell and punctuate is also quite amusing. You were obviously too busy thinking about your future BOV noises than to do your English homework.
  4. Its just a sign that your stock BOV cannot release anymore pressure and needs to be replaced with a GTR one or something. Mine has been doing it for years and my turbo is 100%. The noise is annoying though. Once the RB25\30 goes in, I am going to stick maybe even 2 x GTR ones on there.
  5. I love these threads. You love the noise. ok, so do you like that fact that you will foul your plugs constantly? Do you also like attracting the cops attention? Do you like the risk of being defected and having to pay money for a BOV that didn't need to be there? Do you like the fact that you are just making skylines more hated? (And don't worry, its almost a guarantee that you'll drive through the main street of town making it release "because you like the wank off sound") Do you like it how women love the sound, get naked and dive into your car as you drive past? Do you think SAU will be happy about another "My car is running rough, I only installed a duck whistle, twisty whooshy twirly, dick pulling, sparkly fuleh sic wank off valve" thread? They should create a database script that bans people from SAU that install BOVs "just for the sound". I'm was running 300rwkw and had the stock BOV. My RB25\30 is almost finished, and its going to be Stock Plumback GTR bovs. Oh, and if you do a search there is 400,0000,234232542, 234234234 threads on this. Good luck with it though.
  6. yeah don't freak, they snap all the time. Easy to get out too.
  7. I shimmed mine - DaleFZ1 shimmed his also but a bit more for more pressure. He had a few issues with oil pushing past seals, but I think a lighter weight oil than the running in oil will fix that. Are the RB25 pumps higher flowing? I thought the 26 was, but then again, I am forgetting that the RB25 possibly needs more oil due to hydraulic lifters, and the VCT.
  8. Sorry about my half assed reply too mate. Just got off a 20 hour flight. Pretty messed up lol. These guys are right - Get the service done. Plugs, AFM, air filter, oil change, fuel filter etc. But at the end of the day, the ECU was never meant for Australia. The Nistune board is also a great option. I should have mentioned it earlier too.
  9. My engine builder did it. He said that you do need more loose clearances for higher power, but also higher oil pressure. I have shimmed my pump and raised the pressure a little. Its really just what is working with everyone out there I guess.
  10. Glad I could help. One small problem though, Cubes doesn't go by that name anymore (well he didn't a while ago) I think he's got a new username now. He did mention it somewhere along the line but I have forgotten. I have his number here somewhere too. If I find it I will let you know. Hopefully he shows up.
  11. There are a number of users here that can help you. Here is some information that Cubes gave me, and what he runs. (Rb30 in a R32, still going very well) Sorry about the "scratchy" format but you'll get his jist. Just remember, his settings are tested and going well.
  12. Its not really a problem... But the reason is simple - Its running rich. Get an aftermarket ECU and tune it to better suit Australian fuel and conditions. In Japan, the air is always more cold, and the fuel has a much higher RON rating. THeir ECU was never meant to work properly here. An aftermarket Powerfc should cost barely $1k. If you cannot afford it, then you cannot afford a GTR.
  13. it should be against the law to put an RB26 into a shittodore.
  14. do you have a year when they started using R34 intake and CAS?
  15. Hey mate So do you have any specs on the flywheel? Keen to make a move. Thanks
  16. There is a thead titled "oil control" something something" that is about 100 pages long. Explains exactly why your RB engine does this.
  17. You're basically asking "how long is a piece of string" I wouldn't run anymore than 12psi from a standard turbo 10psi on a standard turbo and ECU 20psi on a Garrett GT3076 with water meth 16psi on a Garrett GT3076 without water meth 32.4 psi with a T88
  18. blah, you lazy bastard haha Thanks for letting me know How soon can you get me the specs on the flywheel? Keen to grab asap if the right specs. Can you remember where you got it from, or the model etc?
  19. Extremely Lazy Bastard, I'd also like to take the injectors. Thanks.
  20. hey you big lazy bastard, lol. I'll take the Flywheel and Oil cooler kit. Conditions: I need the specs on the flywheel, and pictures please. Will pay cash, and arrange pickup.
  21. lol, sorry mate, but changing the compressor cover won't change the compressor wheel. You need to replace the whole turbo.
  22. This is probably why it is dead.. Define "full boost" and what kind of turbo you have.
  23. The Nismo \ Tomie is about $380. It comes on its own bracket, and has its own sock and plug. 285lph at 75psi. You simply pull the old pump out, and drop the new one on its bracket in. Fits like factory. You can feel the sock press up against the bottom of the tank. My nismo is completely silent too. Worth the extra $$$ IMO.
  24. hope is not too bad mate. Good luck.
  25. They are the standard Nissan Cast pistons.
