I assume you have a factory ECU and haven't heard of the Boost protection in it?

I'd also look at cleaning the AAC valve. If you don't know what this is, take it to a mechanic. He should charge you less than 30 mins.

Suggestion To The Moderators

ahaha f**k, what a rant. -
Just for those interested - The finer specs are: Compressor Trim: 52 Turbine Trim: 84 Runs the same Turbine outlet Size as the HKS \ Garrett 3037 Compressor runs a Slightly Smaller inducer than the HKS \ Garrett 3037 These are all good things. This turbo would be very responsive and make about 280rwkw on 18psi. Thats MY guess, but I may be wrong. Looks like a extremely good setup turbo, so whoever buys this, I want you to start a thread and post your results. Internal gated Rear housings can be picked up new from garret for $400 - $600.
-
I'd be pulling the AFR's back closer to 12.0:1 and advancing your ignition timing. Ignition timing is where the power is made. Advancing it on those AFR's will cause Detionation. Oh, and if the Rich and retard protection has been removed from the ECU - then push the boost to 12.5psi maybe 13psi.
-
why the hell would you bother with a FPR if you are still running the factory ECU? Whats a AFC or SAFC going to do? Bend the AFM signal, after you've upped the fuel pressure? Whats the good of that? Tell the car its running rich on the AFM and then up the fuel pressure making the car run like crap? And you're doing this without a Wideband by the looks, which will be a disaster. Its a COMPLETE waste of time, unless you are chasing 350rwkw or more, you have aftermarket injectors, and aftermarket ECU, and a larger turbo. Also, the factory Injectors are madness to run with higher pressure, as they could leak, get stuck, etc, creating lean condition. Engine goes bang, and then you regret playing with something you shouldn't have been, even though it wa a complete waste of time anyway. You haven't stated your mods, so basically you are asking us how long is a piece of string.... I am running 300rwkw WITHOUT a aftermarket FPR, all I have is a Nismo 275lph pump in the tank, nismo 555cc injectors, and a powerfc controlling them. Sell the FPR, sell the AFC\SAFC or whatever you have, and buy a power FC.
-
as soon as you adjust the Fuel pressure, you will need a complete retune. I don't advise this if you have a Standard ECU and Piggy back setup.
-
well, I run 300rwkw. Walboro pumps aren't good for that or more, so I dropped the Nismo Fuel pump in (took about 6 minutes) and already have Nismo 555cc injectiors. Stock FPR is fin up to 370rwkw as R31nismoid said, but if you really must go to another FPR, do it when you're looking for beyond 350rwkw and get a nismo. If you think you need one for under 350rwkw on any setup, then you're kidding yourself.
-
ahh pual said something a few posts back, but I see what you mean now. Maybe I misread? Ok, one more question - Does the Cefiro have a different wiring loom than the RB20? Or is it exactly the same, and our new wiring scheme will work? Doing one for a mate.

Garrett Gt3082r .64 Turbo, New/cheap
The Mafia replied to Clintarous's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
this will make well over 300rwkw at around the 18psi mark. With the supporting mods of course. Good luck with the sale. -
Yeah, you're right, they need two map sensors to average between the inlet runners. I forgot they'd need to put them there because of the multi throttle body design. Surely I can just plumb both map sensors into the RB25 intake plenum and have no problems? Regarding the HKs 30307 - His has the 0.63 HKS rear on it, and its clearly smaller than my rear. Not sure why, but interesting. Laggy as dog shit in the RB20 though, especially with the RB20 stock ECU untuned.. Also, I hadn't forgot about the temp sensor, as map sensors require this data heavily. Weird how the powerfc uses this data though? As they are just sending a signal into the AFM wires.? Might have to investigate this a little more. Still curious to know why it also needs to be hooked up to the Cylinder 3 and 4 wires. Sounds like a ghetto way of using map sensors. Can you speak engrish? Will they have a few extra features like Ignition cut and Launch control? That would be great
-
but then the pipes are angling forwards not back towards the engine? It could work though.

Hi I work in a large IT department and I am also very IT orientated so I've looked into this thoroughly. Viewing the site from home or work I've noticed its extremely slow. Work has a 2mbit up and 2mbit down, and home has 8mbit down and 384k up. Both browse the site at the same speed. Is it because we are hosted overseas or are there other reasons? Thanks Jono

ahhh I see, the wiring will be exactly the same as the Maf Rb26 -> RB20 or 25 version, but instead of splicing the AFMS together, you just cut the AFMs completely and hook dual MAP sensors up. As says the picture from Your FAQ paul - http://paulr33.sauvic.com.au/docs/powerfc-...tro-harness.jpg This will be easy. Going to order a D-Jetro Tonight and extra adapter loom. Hooking this up to a RB20 with a HKS 3037proS. The owner wants to tune it, and then install the RB30 when its completed he has sitting on his engine stand. Looking forward to this project. No more f**king around with Airflow curves, and Maf settings, as MAP sensors are universal on all cars as they only read pressure, regardless of pipe size, etc. If I can get a RB25 D-Jetro I think I'll swap it with my standard RB25 Powerfc. Just so I can remove the AFM. If I can't get a standard Powerfc I'll use a RB26 one and a adapter loom.
-
Few good points. The GTR runs 2 x map sensors. I wonder if you can do the same as the AFMS - Splice both AFMs together and simply hook up one map sensor? Or go the easy way out and just get to Map sensors and run two. That means no shanging of the wires. Everything else is easy, Cut the 02 Sensor wires, and get a Air Temp sensor wired in? Surely the rest is the same? I'd assume since the D-Jetro was designed to use the factory wiring it will just have map sensors on the MAF wires instead of mafs, but everything is is the same. That wiring thing about cylinder 3 and 4 is weird, but maybe the map sensors need some kind of trigger to understand Engine RPM for something? Are there instructions for installing one? Keen to see some. Joely, were is your input lol.
-
the pipes are facing the wrong way?
-
Well, if you have a R33 they have a Flow\overboost map with anything 12psi or beyond. This gets covered about 10 times a day. As for the boost loss - could be a small pipe split, or just because its starting to get hot. If your running a stock intercooler, then anything above 10psi is a big no.

your bonnet looks like it has something jammed underneath it lol -
I want to convert the RB26 D Jetro Powerfc to work with this mod. Can anyone give any input? Is the wiring on the plug any different? If its a D-Jetro, you won't have to stuff around with air flow curves I have realised...
