  1. keep us updated! I love hearing back results, and to see if we know what we are talking about haha.
  2. Clapsons dyno reads lower than your typical Dyno Dynamics dyno too. Apparently 20rwkw lower...
  3. you just need a bigger rear end, or one like mine. Don't expect anymore power out of the RB25 rear housing. I got 240rwkw with Water Methanol injection. That was it. Its simply too small.
  4. lol, just put lots of octane booster in
  5. the Garrett 2835 is the same as the GT3071. The Garret 3037 is the same as the GT3076 Now this explains all. I just want to see what kind of rear housing you have - If you have a ground out RB25 rear housing, then your power is spot on. I had a GT3076 with a RB25 rear, and it only made 230rwkw.
  6. guys, be realistic. You aren't going to be safe on a Standard motor over 250rwkw. Anything above that is a gamble. I've been running 300rwkw for a while now (more than a year) but there are factors involved there. 1. I'm a tuner and are constantly looking after the tune and monitoring it for knock, and being careful. 2. I change the oil every 3k-4k kms. (Shell Helix Fully synthetic 5w40) 3. I run water methanol Injection 4. Its not a track car, and I don't peak the revs out much at all. 5. My engine was like new when I got it - 169psi across all cylinders, and 2% leakdown. Its at 167psi and 3% leak down now. If you want 280rwkw~ then get the GT3037 (garrett is fine) but also always have in the back of your mind that you could be rebuilding the engine the next time you take it for a drive. It sure as hell is in the back of my mind when I drive my. Shit when I start it I'm thinking about it. Ok, here are some other facts though. I noticed you've been bullshitted into getting a FPR. Simply don't. Its not needed, as I don't have one. I run nismo 555cc injectors, and they'll take me to at least 310rwkw - 320rwkw on the factory regulator. As about the Garrett \ HKS thing, tell your tuner to shut his mouth, and go and buy a GT3037 Garrett, 56 trim compressor, 0.6 compressor cover, 84 trim turbine, 0.82 IW rear housing. CHRA is 700177-5007. I have one with a 0.63 rear and it makes 300rwkw on 17psi (creeping to 18psi). BUT I have water methanol injection. Take 20rwkw - 40rwkw from this to get your result. Also, the dyno I was on is under rating so you'll probably get about 280rwkw without WMI and a 0.82 rear housing). Here is my thread - its worth a read. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...=167572&hl=
  7. have you got the CHRA number yet? It will tell us the whole story!
  8. lol you'd go to all of that trouble on a short motor when you could simple jam a block of wood in the crank somewhere? Its seriously not that tight. You just need a big breaker bar.
  9. rofl, never heard of anything like that
  10. yeah I have been told crap figures like that too, and they aren't worth shit. I've got a better idea - Get me the Number on the little plate on the core. should be 700177-xxxxxx I'll tell you exactly what it will do. As many other people will be able to. Dale_FZ1 knows his shit, he'll give you a excellent idea on this too. So go get us that number
  11. I did the piece of wood, and break bar trick too. Worked too easy.
  12. can you give exact specs of that turbo? My old GT3076 struggled at making 220rwkw at 18psi. Rememeber, a GT3071 is smaller..
  13. Might be good for a high flow?
  14. had a few tyre kickers. anyone want their car to look like this but red?
  15. Nismos have a much better spray pattern as they are a 4 hole injector. Also the sards are cheap because you need to get Collars for them, and are usually an extra $200 - $300 They are not a direct replacement.
  16. sounds a bit high to me, especially at the boost level
  17. lol time to start running the 1\4 mile instead? Nice figures anyway, Got any videos of the dyno runs or passes on the strip?
  18. I have a nismo 275lph pump, and nismo 555cc injectors. They are running 300rwkw, and are at about 80% duty. I reckon they'd see 320rwkw easily, and more with a FPR up their ass. But i'd just go for the 770cc Nismos, as they are about $5 more. Also, people on the datalogit user group say they have absolutely no idling troubles with large injectors (up to 1000cc). 770cc Nismos are the best bang for buck IMO. Wish I got them.
  19. why doesn't the idiot just block off the BOV ? Oh, I know why, I bet he has a massive f**ken Trumpet amplified supersonic twisty whirly spinner shiney chrome space ship vent to atmosphere one, because he thinks all of the women he makes it go off in front of a all going to get really wet, and come running and try and get into his car? Another f**king idiot to make cops hate skylines more. Great.
  20. sounds like a turbo seal, maybe a blown head gasket? Check the turbo first.
  21. what they said - second hand RB25 turbo. Gives the RB20 a little kick in the pants. Would be interesting to see one on a NA rb20 - can you post your results when you get them, and the rest of your mods?
  22. rofl x 2 doing all that just for a bit of dose...or whatever the f**k it is
  23. you'll find your factory injectors will be good up to 230rwkw, and the HKS2530 will run outof puff at about there too. 220rwkw would be fine with factory injectors. I've even heard of people running 240rwkw with factory injectors maxed. Then if you want to take a risk, get a FPR?
  24. are you wanting to set them up as twin or just to use one for your RB25? Put the series 2 one on if thats the case
  25. just glue the cranks together with araldite
