  1. cheers mate thanks for the bump
  2. Soooooo sooooo true mate.... ya know why they are so interested in speed?! cuz its so damn EASY to police! they can make easy money... other wise they might have to actually make an effort and get out of the shade of the tree thet're hidin behind like some predatory animal.... sorry about that just my humble opinion /end of rant
  3. thanks ppls... bump...
  4. yeah, well as i was sayin roy, if you have access to a press, you can get them out easy.... put a 10mm deep socket on the cap bolt, turn it upside down, and put another bokt or a pin punch on the tip of the siezed bolt, and press it out... took about 5 tons to press mine out... then just clean up inside the cap with ultra fine wet n dry and a bit of upper engine cleaner
  5. i was going to suggest maybe the IAC (idle air Control) valve, becuase at idle, you throttle is not open at all, and if the IAC isnt open enough, or slowly closing, it wont idle, but as soon as you open the throttle, it would be fine....so it probably is the cams that are causing the problem, via the IAC valve, if that makes any sense
  6. hey Roy, i had the same problem when i put a new head on my rb20... i just pressed the bolts out, and then buffed the on a wire wheel, and saoked the caps in subaru upper engine cleaner... gets rid of the carbon good (helps when you work at a subaru dealership)
  7. anyone interested? is this price reasonable?
  8. Its time to sell my car unfortunatly... located in Mackay Nth Qld. Prefer to sell to someone up here somewhere for the easiness of it, but will work something out for out-of-staters -Apexi Coilovers -New Head -turbo Timer -3 in Turbo back Zorst -HKS Pod -GCG Hi-flow Turbo -leather interior -M-spec Kit -Daikin Extreme Clutch $17500 ono email for pics edit: phone 0403220770 or email [email protected] edit2: its a 5 speed and there is 171xxx k's on the clock
  9. i changed my clutch (r32 gtst), and it wasnt that hard, but i DID get to use the hoist and stuff at work.... if you have a 3in dump or anything though, i suggest removing it before putting the box back in, as i found it much easier to do with it off... and yeah, as for lining up the clutch, sometimes a 3/8 extension with an appropriatly sized socket can work as a clutch aligner, but the ideal tool is a dummy input shaft or a proper alighning tool.... my 2 cents
  10. Attention anyone who wants to build an rb24.....perfect! if only i had the coin, i'd do it! free bump
  11. oh if only i wasnt already paying a car off!!! Damn it thats nice, and i can see heaps of potenial... Free Bump!
  12. yeah, i have this problem too... i put it down to coolant temperature, or something similar, as most Engine managments that i know of, will retard your timing when cold, so that the motor will heat up faster. not sure i'd realy call it an issue though.
  13. ah yes, didnt see that post...thanks doughBoy
  14. i wouldnt take your springs off without takin your head off, unless your pretty good. and puttin the collets back in would be fun with the head on, as you wouldnt be able to hold the valve up
  15. my skyline manuel says 10-12 nm it'd be a good idea to change your cam belt at the same time too
  16. fark....wish i could get times like these... i have a r32 gtst with a flowed turbo, and 3in zorst... best i have gotten so far is [email protected] on 14psi... maybe i just cant drive btw, that was on a gtech
  17. i changed my timing belt myself, as well as the tensioner pulley belt was $112 tensioner was $90 trade prices... probably allow about 2 hours labour...
  18. so now I'm the moron?!? love it... you said "its a VT so how can it be g3 ?"...Doh!!!
  19. VT series 2 v8s ARE GEN III !!!!!

  21. um, can you please tell us wtf a 355 xcop vt commo is? if you mean 355 cu. in. WRONG!! if its a vt series one, it'll be a 304 cu. in. (5.0 lt) if its a series 2 it'll be a 350 cu.in. (5.7lt)... or do you mean kw... cuz they still aren't up that high!!!

  24. yeah, i've seen a white 4 door gettin around... dont know much about it though
  25. if i may jump on the bandwagon here... my r32 gtst is running 15psi, through a no-name bleed valve, (was running 17psi with no dramas) and i dont get any of the missing/hesitation that some ppl have mentioned... Does this mean my ecu has been re-mapped? standard turbo (hiflowed)
