  1. i was thinkin of gettin one of these, as i have heard that they are a straight fit onto an rb20... i can get one for $1900. is this a good price? Any idea what i'd get out of it? Currently, i get 208 rwkw (shootout mode), with the standard turbo, hi flowed @ 17psi, so would it be worth it?
  2. hi ppls, I'm in Mackay, and i drive a grey 32 2door (sometimes!!!! atm, waiting on another clutch) and a vn CommonWhore
  3. Dude, Wrx's DO have BOV's, situated on the lefthand front edge of the intercooloer
  4. As the subject says, sometimes the steering goes light, at high speed, and is then really hard at low speed, or it will go soft/hard intermittently, while going around a corner... Anyone had this problem?? I was thinkin maybe the solenoid/switch on the side of the rack btw, where is resivor for the rear rack, or is it supplied from the one in the engine bay??? 93 32 gts-t HICAS HKS Pod standard BOV thanks in advance for any help
  5. nope, rb 30 gaskets wont fit, stud pattern is different. I used a liquid gasket called "silver seal' on mine, and it doesnt leak... try that
  6. $22ea exhaust valve $25ea intake valve $60 ea guides + fitment
  7. hiya ppls, just wondering is there anyone on here live in mackay? I've seen a few 'lines kickin around up here, thought we might be able to organise a cruise or sumpin Cheers Brad
  8. another thing is aquirt a bit of oil down the spark plug hole, and then compression test it again. if the reading goes up, i'd bet on rings
  9. yep, on the right track, do a compression test, and if only one is down, could be the rings. if a couple of cylinders adjacent to each other are down, id be suggesting a head gasket.check for bubbles in your coolant, and/or water in your oil. A valve stem seal cant really cause low compression, but if the valve isnt seating right, that will. if there is a lot of oil on the plug, good chances are it is the rings. check for bubbles in your coolant, and/or water in your oil
  10. Hiya ppls I bought an r32 gts-t with a (supposedly) genuine 160000ks, and appently, the timing belt had been changed @ 150000. All is good, thought I, for another 40000ks or so. Turns out that the belt had indeed been changed, but when the 'mechanic' did it, he decided to try and lever the harmonic balncer off between the front timing cover and the balancer itself. One dented timing cover. Not so bad, you might say. but the timing cover was rubbing on the tensioner pulley, and causing it to move just that little bit... to cut an (already) long story short(er), the belt ran off the back of the tensioner, and shaved itself away on the water pump, until it was thin enough to pop off the back of the cam gears... Ta Da!!!! 24 bent valves... if their is a moral to this story, its change, or at least check the timing belt, ASAP!!! btw, its cheaper to get a second hand head than to buy new valves and guides
  11. thanks for your help guys, lets hope its just the belt...maybe tensioner as well? dunno...
  12. hi all, i just bought an r32 gtst. well, i pulled up at a mates place, and went inside, had a yarn, came back out tried to start, and "whirrrrrr" NO COMPRESSION!!!! the cam belt snapped. musta been when i turned off the motor, and it hit compression stroke, it just said thats enough. my question is this. would any valves have been bent? any help is appreciated. cheers p.s i still can't believe it, i've only had the car 4 days!!!!
  13. k, i'll try that tommorow, and might do the ecu reset aswell. Cheers
  14. hi all, i just got an r32 gts-t and it seems to miss or surge a couple of times in 4th or 5th (when in boost) and then it'll be fine. This doesnt happen in 1st 2nd or 3rd. has anyone had the same problem? specs are: (if it helps) rb20det 15psi hi-flowed turbo standard bov hks pod
