CES Racing full exhaust claims?
Lethal_Locky replied to zymotic's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
its <86dba or whatever the standard is (i think mine came to 83 or 82 dba. Trevor tested it after it was installed with his sound meter and gives you a certificate to keep in the glovebox to prove its loudness. Theres no drone in cabin. Sounds quite quiet just cruising and driving normally but sounds pretty good when you get stuck into it. As i said, the induction noise is quite a noticable sucking noise which i like (as when i'm trying to save fuel i can hear the turbo sucking and change gears) (i couldn't hear this before the exhaust). -
CES Racing full exhaust claims?
Lethal_Locky replied to zymotic's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The only dyno i have had done was a tuning run after the exhuast was fitted an i got 148rwkw. Which i spose is a 10kw gain (not sure)? But i wouldnt trust it as it wasnt a proper run. Not much but thats everything stock so should be much bigger increase with more boost etc. Boost comes on quicker, even when taking off quite steadily and changing gears @ around 2000rpm the bov will give a 'little' chirp, (3500 > 3800 rpm the boost is much stronger and feels punchier). Also the induction noise is alot more noticable at lower revs. Fuel efficency also got better by a little. Overall i am happy with it. except for the smell lol -
CES Racing full exhaust claims?
Lethal_Locky replied to zymotic's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hi I have had a full 3" stainless system fitted from CES and I am very pleased with it. The car (33 gtst) is stock apart from the exhaust so only minimal power gains, but the engine note is perfect and the best thing is it looks stockish with the twin tips. I went with the HPC (ceramic) coated split dump pipe. The only thing i dont really like is that it stinks when it gets hot? i dont know if its the hpc stuff or something else, but the smell has only appeared after the exhaust was fitted (it goes away quite quickly as the car cools). Anyone else notice this or can explain it? -
Hi peoples, Just recently got a huge crack in my windsheild from a passing truck . just wondering where the best place to get/or where other people have sourced windscreens. I've tried the local windscreen places but they mainly just humm and harr and pretty much waste my time. best i could get was a windsheild with the nanna spec blue tinting up the top...wouldnt be happy with that. i'm going to try wreakers, but before i sit down i ring them all, i though one of the fine folk at SAU would be able to point me in the right direction thanks John

R33 Fuel Caps. No 'PSHHHHHHHH" on opening!!??
Lethal_Locky replied to superspit's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
yeah i'll have a play around with it tomorrow and see what i can acheive. Sikaflex is excellent....a dedicated automotive sealant (you can get household varieties as well so check the tubes) can get them from ordinary car places that sell sealants. i think you can get a tube of it (for a caulking gun) for around $14.... http://www.sikaautomotive.com/ind-auto/aut...roduct-flex.htm if you want to know more about it -
R33 Fuel Caps. No 'PSHHHHHHHH" on opening!!??
Lethal_Locky replied to superspit's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
good thread! i have this problem too....(hazy vapour being emitted) I had a look at the spout....its a little wobbly. Also checked the shed and i have some automotive sikaflex. just wondering how you get the spout out? theres like a giant rubber seal surrounding it. Does that come off and then expose the sealing face of the spout? Our do i have to get in under the car to get the spout out to get some sikalex in and around the join? i hnfi lol -
anybody know of some reasonably priced digital guages of various types (i.e pressures, temps, etc.) Any personal experiences with them?

ok i will check out the cap situation more. Is it possible to buy a new replacement? or shall i just search wreckers? re the service, it was just a complete oil change everywhere, a lube up and a general check to get the 100% health tick. nothing needed changing so we didn't change them.

thanks for the replys. yep a brake cylinder brace makes perfect sense. i just uscrewed that thread and the bluey anodised bit is like a cradle. cool btw, it is a nismo strut brace, but i have never seen the brake brace b4. the fuel thing still has me worried. it seems like the fuel cap doesn't fit right. does anyone, or could anyone take a photo of the stock fuel cap for me, so i can see if mine is original or not. It has nissan written on it, but now i'm not sure because i have been told that it isn't a skyline cap. but i will try resetting the ecu later this weekend and see if it does anything thanks again for the help, muchly appriciated

Hi all just wondering what this thing is attached to the brake master cyclinder assembly....some sort of adjustment. its attached to a bracket to the upper strut bar. is it standard? what does it do? clicky also i have noticed a sudden drop if fuel efficiency, from like 450km/tank to around 380km/tank. nothing has changed (i.e driving style, mods) and just had a recent service. I have noticed that petrol fumes/heat haze can be seen being emitted from the fuel cap in my drivers mirror whilst driving....this can't be good. I have also been told that the fuel cap cover (the unscrewable one) is not standard. could it be simply a problem of the fuel cap not fitting correctly, or is it a more serious problem. any info would be muchly appriciated p.s. stock as a rock manual 95 r33 gtst kthanxbye

i did mine over christmas...4 days all up (boot took 3 days did the rears and fronts in a day)...most of it was waiting for glues to dry. still not finished tho. its pretty basic because i needed as much boot space as posible and access to spare, so it does the job nicely and cost was bugger all Pic 1 Pic 2 Pic 3 Pic 4

heyas...just a quick question on postage from japan to australia. i have never ordered anything from japan, but i am getting a few bodykit peices that i can't get in australia (not for my skyline, but my liberty) and i am just wondering if anyone out there who has purchased from japan could help me. what is the difference in the below postage methods. I asked the guy i am dealing with in japan, but his english wasn't very good and didn't explain it very well and i don't want to keep bugging him :s i also had a quick look on google but noting substantial. EMS:4000yen without insurance. UPS: 8000yen without tax and insurance. DHL: 27,900yen without tax and insurance. that last one nearly costs more than the things i am getting lol so it better be good.

Sqeaky Clutch
Lethal_Locky replied to Lethal_Locky's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks for all the help. I went to the local aircon place and purchased a bottle of anti baterial spray with 'special trade secret blend' lol cost $16 and its made by a company called 'earth innovas', if anyone is interested. just spray it in your intake vents. too easy...car now smells like a hospital, but at least it doesn't stink lol just another question that arised whilst spraying this stuff into my intake vents...any ideas on why the drivers side vent is fully open, yet the passenger side vent only has tiny holes and is mostly covered????? (these are the vents at the bottom of your windshield under your wipers.) because i looked on my liberty and it has symetric vents, just seemed odd to me to have one side open and the other with little holes. -

Sqeaky Clutch
Lethal_Locky replied to Lethal_Locky's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
thanks for the replies. i thought it might be the pedal at first, but thought i'd get some opinions on what else it could be. don't smoke, so thats not the problem (re: aircon) both my cars do it, the skyline is worse than my liberty though. i will have a search for the spray stuff any idea on what it was called? -
Hey guys, I just have a couple of questions so i'll just bunch them up in the one post. 1. My clutch has developed a sqeak. I've never had a car have a sqeaky clutch before so whats the cause, and possible solution to my problem here? It only sqeaks when I depress/release the clutch. 2. After having the airconditioner on, and then switching too just the fan, there is a really bad smell (sorta smells like stagnant or stale water). It goes away after a while or when you put the aircon back on. Possible cause and solution (apart from buying an airfreshner )? Its a 95 r33 gts-t by the way. Any help will be muchly appriciated
