  1. I have no idea what the power:weight ratio is for the xr6T or the HSV R8?, but it is very impressive that a 245kw car can match either of these in a straight line. Especially when the 270kw figure in the xr6T is closer to 300kw.
  2. I've come from a very modified wrx, and the 5 spds in them are the weak link to increasing power. Is there any solid info on how much rwkw a v36 5AT box can cope with? Also does the V36 sedan have an lsd? cheers oz
  3. Sorry, I meant the V36. Can't wait to pick it up
  4. I haven't actually picked it up yet. Put a deposit down and will hopefully have it by next week. I was thinking of taking it to Nissan for servicing.
  5. The sedan I bought was 37K with 12 months warrenty and rego. The coupe's cost much more. I was also surprised with the power and the handling of the 350gt sedan, and like others mentioned what you get for the price. Never driven a HSV and would have thought a 325kw GTS would be in another league.
  6. Just curious if the v36 sedan is comparable to locally manufactured cars such as the G6E turbo or the Holden 6L V8s for acceleration, or is this being too optimistic ? Before buying the 350gt I took a VW Passat V6 (the 220kw version) for a test drive and the 350gt felt faster and more stable. It felt just as fast as the 335i and the current Audi S4 also. Or maybe b/c there was more noise in the cabin it 'felt' just as fast. Does anyone have experience with the 350gt and local manufacturers ?
  7. I'll be picking up my v35 350gt sedan hopefully next week. Count me in if there is an option to convert sat nav etc.
  8. there are also 2008 coupes that are more expensive than the 2009 sedan on carsales. Is this just another exampke of trying to make a big profit or are those vehicles better equiped than the cheaper ones?
  9. I'm going by pictures- The interior finish looks better, especially around the doors. There must be something different externally as it appears to me to look more appealing. It also has variable seat warming:)
  10. The V37 just looks that bit more refined.
  11. OK thanks for the info. Would you expect other dealers to start compliancing pretty soon, or will it be a monopoly for some time?
  12. I noticed a 2009 370GT sedan for sale on carsales. Just wondering does this mean we can import any of the vehicle range including the attessa 4wd version?
  13. You need to use it for business to make leasing worthwhile. take into consideration the balloon payout at the end of the lease. You may find the ballooon is higher than the market value of the car, and find it difficult to sell. As others have said, you need to be on a good income to maintain the payments, or after a short time you'll feel as if the car is a burden. I would prefer buying outright. Getting the car at the best price possible, and selling for a 'reasonable' loss ater a few years.
  14. Anyone can tell there best mate to 'go suck a cock' and it's all laughs. Even a customer can be told they are a bit stupid in the right tone of voice. But a complete strangers face??? No I don't think so, and I don't care how big you are or if your an ex-thai boxer. All you needed to do was answer the OPs question, nothing more.
  15. +1. I would have become defensive with my responses as the OP did. Too easy to say to someone your a 'dckhead' and to 'hardn the f up' on a forum. Dare I say with 100% certainty, non of these posters would say anything like this face-to-face.
  16. Buyers also have to beware. I've also been following the R35 2nd hand market. Sellers advertising that the car has never been raced. However anyone who reads through threads in this section will recognise the particular cars for sale, and know that the owner has tracked it, and has had mechanical issues with the vehicle.
  17. mate thanks for the honesty. Ive just sold a car that was just bareable as a daily due to the stiff suspension. I dont mind a high revving motor, but i would like to keep it for at least a few years, and I can see myself getting tired of it if its a crap daily
  18. I saw on Powerplay imports that they have a mspec for sale. Appears it has a softer shock setting.
  19. I was wrong about prices. There does appear to be very good examples for <60K. I think it was nagoya that also offer 12 month warrenty and roadside assistance as well.
  20. Thats great info. Im looking at carsales now and looking at websites of the dealers you listed. Your R34 sounds like a mint example, and thanks for the offer to see your car,
  21. Are they having reliability issues due to age of the car? The FG F6 can be had for mid 50s now, but no I cant think of many standard cars that can do those times for <50K
  22. Nice vid. Just concerned about day-to-day comfort when it comes to Sydney roads. I like having fun bursts and driving quick, and would love the R34 just as long as the ride is firm, but not jarring.
  23. Hi Ive been on these forums for some time trying to learn more about the RB26 GTRs. Question is, can a midly tuned R34 GTR compete against the following modern day cars- FG F6, e90 M3, c63 AMG, Audi S4 ? I have driven all except for the C63, and the bang for the buck was the F6. The Audi on the road was qouted to be 145K, and the M3 was just over 175K. The F6 was 80K with all options. Can a mildly tuned R34 compete in outright acceleration, but very important comfort? Is the R26 and other drivetrain components getting too old, requiring high maintenance costs to keep it running? I have always liked the design, and the price of them is well within my budget. I just would like to learn from other owners if maintenance/ harsh ride, makes them a pain to own.
