  1. Xalmon, for some reason I am just overly worried about buying from NSW, mainly because most people who own N/A supras, are P-Platers who flog them. So I am quite worried about getting a private sale car because I am not a guru on mechanics and i dont know all the tricks in the book to look for. My uncle is a mechanic but I kinda feel bad if i was too drag him along to inspect every car I looked at. I was just thinking if I bought the car from Japan at least i'd be given the history of the car, and have a nice auction grade sheet with preferably 4 + grade to boast about. Now if i was going to go to a dealer they all mark their cars up, but then again i get to see them in the flesh, although i was reading on a forum somebody bought a toyota chaser from some place in botany, and it broke down 8 hours later. And apparently Edward Lee's are very very shady and pressuring. So all dealers, while some can be close to honest, i dont think theres such thing as a dealer being completely honest. It's just I can tell I am going to completely baby a supra, and I just want one that has been babied and well taken care of. And i was just thinking if i searched through the auctions for a few months and found an immaculate one id be much happier and satisfied with a car that runs like a dream and looks amazing. The 96+ SZ-R Supras are quite rare with the silver tail lights in AUS and quite expensive and thats the model im looking to import
  2. lol that you haven't been banned. Turbz RB 25 or whatever seemed to get pretty revved up about the comments you made hahaha (which i found hilarious) Anyway i appreciate your knowledge you are able to share, even as only a keyboard warrior ! As for my search for a supra I am still talking to my dad about it and he has yet to have been convinced about importing...he is thinking it carries too much risk =\. my thinking is i'd be more likely to pick up a better car for a cheaper price if i imported from Japan. I am hoping for a late model SZ-R with silver tail lights in the colour white or black (White wuld be cheaper i am thinking, I like cheaper) .... although im just hoping a 6 speed transmision wouldnt blow insurance through the roof Have you heard of many bad experiences from like...people who have done all the right things while importing?
  3. if only i had of known about that widebody supra i would of got a broker for that supra a.s.a.p. its like one of a kind with that bodykit. do u rkn it would of been realy realy hard to comply Mr.Eps? as for that Gt-R damnnn it looks clean!!!! why do you think that wuld of been graded R? rust underneath maybe?
  4. OMGGGG WOWW!! that supra would be the ultimate p plate dream!!!!!!!!! hopefuly the repairs done were only subtle because dayum...imagine the loooks of approval you'd get in that widebody :P. Mr.Eps....you have a very very good point lol... i'm in newcastle at the moment so traffic is quite good.......but seeing as im doing construction management at uni ill probably be looking for jobs in sydney/melbourne after i finish uni in 3.5 years time....so i hate to say but the auto option would look quite good then =(
  5. It would lose its gloss cause all you'd have to do is press your right foot down to accelerate lol. plus having a computer control your gearshifts....=boring having a manual car.....you feel at one with the car changing its gears etc. its a more interactive driving experience.
  6. Maybe they've provided you with a car even better than the one in the pictures...but seeing as they seem like dishonest dealers and did the bait and switch tactic, i highly doubt it.
  7. put 100kg in the boot and dump the clutch at a 2000rpm...thatll solve your problems.
  8. lol yeah i would be tempted to go for an auto if i was in melbourne, ive seen how the traffic gets there. but ye im in newcastle for 4 years for uni and theres not too much traffic, although it is getting worse, just have to leave at the right times to avoid it.
  9. Hey Xalmon, thanks for the offer but I'm really intent on a manual, not for the purpose of beating the hell out of the clutch, but just because i enjoy driving a manual more...i jus seem to hav better conection to the car. In the VZ Berlina (an auto) it just bores me to death not changing gears, so it would be the same regardless of the car model i.m.o.
  10. i really like the bodykit and wing on that car above!!! hey Mr.Eps if an auction sheet says on the front left and right panels and bonnet. if it says XX on all those panels..wat does it mean? Yeahhhh that black supra would be damn good. as for that cream coloured car that is soooo sick!!! how much do u rkn that wuld go for...? thatd look so good debadged and lowered on some nice rims.
  11. That black one looks damnn goood for 3.5. Do you think there would be much chance of it having engine troubles etc? as for the grade R car i cant see it? it blocks me from seeing the webpage for some reason...although i may have seen it..is that the one thats got a matte silver respray?
  12. Ok so $10,000-$14000 for car, $2000 shipping, $3000 compliance, $990 broker fee, $1000 duties and charges, so about $17,000- $21.000 i really should of got a job during the HSC because that would make a really nice p plate car, its immaculate!!!! plus low km's which is a bonus for resale value. PS very suprised ur soarer was grade 3, it looks great comapred to most of the soarers here in aus
  13. sz-r looks so good plus i dont mind white cars. ...that wuld be my first preference but not enuf money as for making a last minute decision im just going to keep waiting, mainly because my dad is going to have to help pay for car. thanks for the help mr.eps and yes they vaguely make sense. this how ive broken it down for the supra sz bodykited one $6,500 for car, $990 dollar for broker like iron chef $2000 Shipping $3000 Compliance $1000 duties and taxes so like close to $14 grand correct? i really like that sz though, although i just hope there wouldnt be any rust etc. so if i had more time wuld of been nice to get proper inspection
  14. ohhh wow that sounds expensive for the SZR. wuld come in close to $20k overall corect? and no no not the black one. its this one http://www.japaneseusedcars.com/auction/th...nno-HKF455.html auction grade 4 with bodykit and rear wing, and its white colour.
  15. LInks fixed MR EPs. THanks!. Damnn if only i had more time im very interested in that auction grade 4 model, the bodykit and rear wing looks awesome.
  16. how much money are these expected to go for ??? i like the grade 4 one heaps!! 1996 Toyota Supra SZ manual grade 4 http://www.japaneseusedcars.com/auction/th...nno-HKF455.html 2001 toyota supra sz-r manual grade 4.5 http://www.japaneseusedcars.com/auction/fr...no-FUN3685.html EDIT : LINKS FIXED
  17. I now am really intent on a Soarer with those rims.....any idea wat the rims are called? damnn id look chocko in that car!
  18. damnn Mr.Eps that is a nice car....it looks mafia tough. nice work!! tell me how it runs when you get it..youve actualy got me interested in soarers.
  19. replace hopeless with hektik. Has anyone had experience with Version One Auto Imports? Il show yu the car http://cgi.ebay.com.au/1997-Toyota-Supra-5...=item5190659b6e
  20. an extra 10hp at the flywheel...hmmm that'd be good for my 300 km/h midnight cannonball runs ..coughhh i did not say that hahaha. on a serious note, when i go to inspect this supra, seeing as its from a dealer, what should i look for? besides the VIN number? also should i ask the dealer for the auction sheet?
  21. OHHHH thanks for the advice mr.eps. So once i look at the vin and get the details, what do i do? Ring up Toyota? and as for VVTi that means i can save on lots of fuel. fuel prices is just too high these days. The supra 1997 is at this dealership in botany. they have the same gunmetal grey coloured one but in a 6 speed manual for around 17,900. and i think its got about 80k on it, but thats way out of my price range. once the uni semester is done i might go down and have a look at the 5 sp one. Gunner Yeahhh but whatz the fun in an NA VL? Yu can't dose it!! Although i could put on a fake turbo tip and and a nice turbo badge to make it look like a turbo. And lower the seats so all chicks can see is a kappa hat above the dash and my arm hanging out the window. Anyway Gunnar im not a drift god, i just watch mad drift videos.
  22. soarer compliance thread http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/To...er-t281924.html
  23. hey XALMON im located near Sydney at the moment. As for predjudice against the supra, i dont mind them im just worried about buying a car that blows up on me or things go wrong. Cause ym freind bought one for 8 grand and lots of things are going wrong with it. If i find a good example of one id love to drive a supra. By the way is $14000 for a supra with 130,000km's on it a good price. Series 2 1997 model? as for me being a troll mr.eps.... i wouldnt say im a troll, but rather that i have become deluded from a few bad experiences. im pretty sure my assumptions were correct mr.eps caus that beamer is still for sale. obvs is a P.O.S ummm il try find the thread bout soarer compliance and post a link
  24. yeah that would be my problem- impatient. i guess i'll just take my time and try find a nice locally. by the way id have to stray towards an r33 gts25 caus im on my P platers.
