  1. No haven't cut 53. I just took out the dash and had a look around. Nothing to report. You know the funiiest thing is, the car runs really really rough when the bonnet is up, but when I put it back down it runs a bit better. It not justa figment of my imagination either. It sounds like there is something shorting out near the injector loom, but I'm buggered if I can find it. Nismogirl can you tell me where the wire was severed in the loom.So I'm not going on a wild goose chase. Thanks again, Doc
  2. g'day Mick, I tried that about 20 times. Do you think because of that speed sensor wire could be broken I would not be able to get into diagnostic mode as the car thinks it stationary when you need to move a couple of metres. Thanks Nismogirl, will give it a go. Let you know how I go. Doc

  4. Car started to run like **** at the same time. Car has started to surge whilst driving and almost stalls. Might be something to look at. Thanks for the advise. By the way I imagine you what computer are you talking about Hicas or engine managment. Thanks again, Doc
  5. I probably would not bother. You would be better of just buying a t3/4 and then selling yours to get some money back. You will have a far more powerful turbo that way. The difference between the R32 turbo & the GTT is that it newer, bigger and each engine has 66kw between them. Yours has only got 11kw difference, me thinks it would be a wasted exercise. I bought it because I wanted to keep the charactertics of the car fairley stock whilst getting more power at the top end. I dont particularly want to run 20psi through my engine. Not at the moment anyway. I made the right decision as it still drives like the day I bought it, which is a releif. Lag in RB20 is not very good, so thats the reason for my purchase. Doc

  7. little larger than the r33. The boost lag is about the same as the stocker too which I was worried about. You can definetaly feel alot more air being pumped into the engine at high revs where the stock would run out of puff. I don't know of many people doing this mod so far, but I am confident I will pull some goood times with it as soon as the fuel system is sussed, tuning is spot on an I get off my lazy ass to put in my cooler. By the way, I thought it was going to be a good idea putting in the turbo myself. Saved $400, although, after the job I wished I payed the money. My body, ie back and hands were sore for days. Oh well I had to spen $400 on new front tyres for rego anyway so I guess it was a good idea after all Doc

  9. Mate I would but, I have worked 36 bloody hours in the last 3 days getting up at f*cking 5:45 every morning so I am SPENT. Besides mycar is running like dogs balls at the mo, AFM, ignition and HICAs problems make me mad. I might pop past under the bridge tomorrow morning for that big cruise tomorrow. I can't beleive we haven't met yet. We should do brunch one day :lol: :lol: :lol: Doc edit; turbo cost me $700 off R34 (SDU member) Just got to fit my bar & plate cooler now.
  10. I put on a turbo off a R34 GTT. So different to the stock one. Yeah my house backs onto Forestway. The hard part about that corner is there is a huge f*ck off bump as you start to turn in, so getting airbourne at 23kmh is a possiblilty let alone going 100. Doc
  11. By the way, fitted my EVC tonight. I wound up the boost to about 8psi with the new 34 turbo and holy **** it pulls so hard in 3 & 4 it was scaring me. Then again I have been driving around with 4.5psi now for a few weeks. Doc

  13. WEll last night I was working on the car at about 8.30 when I hear the ****ing car turbos blazing flying down forestway. He was doing 180+ easily. Got a quick look at the lights. It was a Skyline. About 3 sec later a copcar chasing the guy flies past. Maybe thats whay they hassled a few Skylines last night. Doc
  14. By the way I seem to get electric shocks whilst hopping out of the car now. Never before has this happend. It thinking its causing a problem with my inectors or something to make the car surge
  15. Read all of the post on this topic. I have lost my power steering, Hicas and my Hicas light stays on whilst driving. I have checked all of the fuses, fluids etc but to no avail. I heard the steering soleniod can fail causing similiar symptoms. Please help as it is giving me the ****s. Doc
  16. Actually the supercharger off the 1g has got a clutch biult into the supercharger, All you need to do is hook up the electrics for it to have a switch in the ****pit. Would not run over 11000rpm though. 1.5-2 ratio would be max before the teflon coating would come off the baldes. Doc
  17. Do you mean the oil & water lines or just the induction lines. There are no vacuum leakes at all and the turbo seems to run pretty well. I think it is just a coincidence that this happened after the turbo install. Doc
  18. Well, soon after I put my new R34 turbo into the car, the car has stated: Missing on idle an also and general cruising at any RPM. Moreso at about 2000rpm than anywhere else. Suspect either AFM or Oxygen sensor. Have lost my power steering and HICAS. Light has come on. Fluids are ok, but I suspect the computer has shit itself. Have done a diagnostic and 55 comes up all OK. Any other suggestions. How much to get the HICAS computer checked and fixed with dry solder. Thanks in advance, Doc

  20. As the title suggests. No play in the shaft at all. Turbo has done 70,000kms. Never had boost raised. Runs perfect. Make an offer. Doc
  21. G'day Joel, Well its only making 5 psi at the mo. The car makes boost at about 2grand. Its driving pretty well considereing such low boost. I don't feel anymore lag atall. My car is missing at idle like a little bitch now. I don't know what it is. Could the oxygen sensor be stuffed? What else could it be. Doc

  23. G'day peoples, I just put on my R34 turbo onto the Rb20. What a bloody job, would have been easiy if it werent for one bloody bolt, the hardest one to get to. I took it for a test run and its only running at 5psi. I beleive this would be normal as the Rb20 is obviously smaller, I'm thinking I will knock the boost to about 11psi with a bleed setup, what doo yoouuss reckon. Doc
