  1. I looked at buying new genuine Nissan stuff and the price wasn’t that different. Key plus with the frenchys kit is that it users much more modern parts. Other option is second hand.
  2. I’m one of these idiots.. because ‘race car’ doesn’t really apply either.. I mainly did it to clean up the engine bay. Fortunately, rules in NZ are more relaxed and this isn’t illegal to remove.
  3. I run them with no issues. I switched after having issues with rubber ones, so thought I’d give it a try. So far after several years no more leaks..
  4. Haha im flattered! Although my poor boat is collecting dust in the garage, as it hasn’t been driven in like 6 months. I forgot the to put the trickle charger on too, so the battery is likely toast now.. I have the frenchys kit. It is fantastic. My only gripe was that the hard lines from the firewall needed some tweaking, however, this was mainly due to my specific turbo and dump combo. The weight and size packaging is much nicer too. I think I have some pics on my build thread somewhere.. my justification for the kit was more “why not” I had gone to the trouble to modernise just about every other part of the car..
  5. Yes please I’d also like to know
  6. For that price you could buy the hypergear turbo (big fan as I run one) and the Haltech ECU..
  7. +1 for the Elite 2500. Get some new knock sensors while you are at it (pretty cheap), look up the TAARKS Nissan knock sensor kit. You may also want to get new coils (R35gtr) while your at it (assuming your on stock ones), as they are a liability. Mine started right up and idled fine on the base map. Also go MAP over MAF, as said above, Haltech make this super simple right out the box. Another fanboy of DBW here, Outsider Garage from your neck of the woods make some nice conversion gear for the R33 (that’s where I got some of my gear from).
  8. I have heard the frenchys kit (with the smaller toyota compressor) performs fantastic. i havent actually gassed my system yet, so cant confirm myself..
  9. I got the full frenchys kit too. Really awesome kit. Easy to install my only complaint was the hardlines I think could be routed differently (I modified mine) but I realise the kit needs to suit multiple applications. This was the hard lines before I modified them. They were touching the wastegate pipe. I ended up reducing the distance between firewall and first bend. The made it so they tucked along the frame rail.

A couple of the coffee & food places I liked around Tokyo: Switch coffee in Asakusa Bricolage in Roppongi Hills Bills Ginza Nakiryu Ramen in Minamiotsuka in Sapporo: Mermaid cafe Harry Bakery i found most places are not open before 10am but most the above open round 8-9am.

I’m pretty sure it’s Hekkelun coffee in Nishishimbashi Tokyo. He seems to have become a bit of an internet sensation with his caramel puddings (which are delicious) so it gets a bit crowded and isn’t the chill environment I like for a coffee..

I’ll upload photos once at home. The plane wifi wasn’t the best. i don’t feel like I did Sapporo justice, as I only had limited time to explore being stuck between hotel and convention centre…

I didn’t end up doing any tours or going to any meets in the end. I’m actually on a flight back to Tokyo now, transiting back to NZ. Japan was amazing! I loved Tokyo, although it was very hot and humid. The conference was in Sapporo in the north, which I didn’t get to explore as much as I would have liked but the climate was much cooler (and nicer) Best parts of the trip: checked out Nismo, which was cool but was quite a long way from inner tokyo, so I combined with a trip to Upgarage (and found some nice 3-piece SSR and Work wheels I nearly bought) the food and coffee was great, I found a Michelin star Ramen restaurant in Tokyo and it was amazing (and cheap) several nice cafes and bakery’s fireworks festival in Edogawa in Tokyo which was really cool I ended up walking nearly 60km in 4 days in Tokyo, so definitely got around a bit. I can’t wait to come back!
  16. .63 housing and about 315kw on a safe tune with pump 98.
  17. The ATR43SS2 is amazing. Great response and great sounding unit. mine was spec’s with ball bearing CHRA and the externally gated plumbed kit, with the gate welded to the exhaust housing. Both of which I recommend highly.
  18. I believe it’s the .63 housing
  19. A good shop should do a fitting to see what works best for your vehicle.
  20. The tyre fitment will be important here. You may be able to fit a super wide low offset wheel in but then you will be limited to stretch tyres.. I personally run a 18x9.5 +11 (rear) and 18x9 +18 (front) on my R33 and the tyres are only slightly stretched (check my build for pics). However, mine is definitely on the more snug fitting side.. IMO a 9.5" rim size (all round) id say a +20 to +25 on the rear and +25 to +30 on the front would be a reasonable fit with some room for decent tyres..
  21. Honestly, I did think the PDM could do it and thought Haltech told me the pump didn’t like it. But after re-reading the emails and comments above, I clearly misunderstood lol.
  22. Well that explains it!
  23. +1 on the FPG fuel hat! funnily enough I tried to PWM control my fuel pump (Walbro/Ti Auto 450l/hr) through the PDM and it didn’t like it. Scott from Haltech said they don’t like it? So I just run mine at 100%.
