  1. OK, im kinda confused now lol my TPS was at 0.38V, i changed it to 0.45V and now the idle is way high. to be a pain, could you do a step by step process of how to reset my idle (i have done a search, but everyones got different ways)??
  2. i thaught its ment to read 0.38V?? and which is the iac screw? is it the one on the throttle body?? cheers
  3. is there a post on how to do this? cheers
  4. ive just done the same thing, and i noticed when it almost stalls when you touch the accellorator, the o2 sensor has a bit of a spaz, then the timing adjusts to compensate (correct me if im wrong). i also noticed my aac valve fluctuate, is this normal?
  5. its not that bad lol. keep your eyes on trademe.co.nz, might be worth importing one himself and meeting it over here???? we are close to several tracks, pukekohe and hampton downs, they are both under an hour away. then you got taupo, thats a couple of hours, been there a few times in my bros 2004 sti spec c, its a good track. it would be a great time for him to look now, especially as the AUD is very strong. youll find there are a lot more japas over here and the prices are quite good and our modifying rules arnt anywhere near as strict as you guys. let me know if you need any help with anything.
  6. so do you have an rb20? the ecu also controls the auto box, so that might be why its playing up? im not too sure on this but maybe you can only put a rb20 box back on? some one on here should know. sorry im not much help
  7. i think the hypergear thread is a good one to read, as theres heaps of info on there possibly post a question? i agree with stryder, find out exactly what it is you want to do with the car and go from there. for eg. you might want to possibly look at the suspension side of things like swaybars etc. its all good having a high hp car,but making it go round a corner is another thing lol. nice tidy 33 btw
  8. i think it should be fine at those power levels. you could always shift kit it? theres a thread on here about shift kits, im pretty sure some of those guys were running higher hp
  9. yeah fair enough, but the smaller width rims dont have a good offset, the reason why i didnt say the 10.5" is i thaught u guys have strict rules re. the size of wheels you can get? but i totally agree which is why i run a staggered fitment and NYTSKY you might want choose wether you want matt black or full polish, as the full polish doesnt seem to have many offset options and might require more work putting them on
  10. the 18x8 and 18x9s have a pretty weak offset,go 18x9.5 with 22 offset all round. will look pretty good i run 17x10 rear and 17x9 front both are 17 offset and just fits with stretched tyres (no camber arms or flared guards)
  11. so your looking at a gtr? look at the hypergear thread and ask him a question regarding hi-flowing the gtr turbos (he will need a power figure that you want to achieve). also check out the build threads and see what other people have done, there may not be a need to go fully forged if you only want say 300kws etc. do a bit more homework and choose a power figure you want to achieve before you start spending thousands
  12. hmmm. im stumped too, plug it in and see what happens, i doubt your car will go boom
  13. well on my 33, there is a box exactly as you are describing on the left hand side (drivers side), and there is the same bracket on the right but no box. this is the HICAS ecu. it may be possible that the last owner disconnected it and removed the globe from the dash (i know people do this) so they can pass the WOF.
  14. ^^ hiding a turbo under a skyline engine doesnt quite seem practical to me lol (not taking the piss). just do it right the first time and dont run the risk of being defected. check out the hypergear forum and the results hes getting from his hi-flows. and as far as pods go, just get a hi flow panel filter. people are still using the standard airboxes with hi hp engines. which means you can upgrade your intercooler.
  15. i think they have a completely different suspension set up to the skyline?? judging by google, the photos of there shocks look quite a bit different. so no i dont think they will fit. if you really want, just remove the wheels and drop the suspension and check yourself (only 30-40min job). but like i said i would be very suprised if they fit.
  16. you might want to actually check if those adaptors are legal first. im not too sure on wheel fitment on the v35 but +40 offset seems weak, although the adapters would change the fitment (mght pay to check this). to makes things easy i would get wheels that are 5x114.3
  17. sydneykid did a good write up on the jaycar controller. a lot of people would rather use those than the more expensive jap kits
  18. bov would make it try and stall when you take your foot off, put the stock one on and see how you go??
  19. to avoid this issue you could go a carbon fibre vinyl? check out this thread, maybe send him a pic of the bonnet and ask if it can be done??
  20. not much to stuff up. only way to learn
  21. did the ones you take out look the same as the new ones?
  22. i thaught they use h1????
  23. i also like them, which is why i baught them here they are on my 33 i got 17x9s on the front and 17x10s on the rear. i still think your ones look mint, like i said 700 bucks to put elsewhere??
  24. what are the rims that your looking at replacing them with? got pics? i reckon the ones you got on the car look awesome, get them fixed. why spend another 700 bucks for shits and giggles, put that money to other upgrades?
  25. mate this place is full of knowledge, just read though the threads youll learn heaps! where abouts in nz are you from?
