  1. Thanks! I was convinced they were not going to fit. They were a bit of an impulse buy, as they were a cancelled order… and I rolled the dice re. fitment. I really don’t like the whole stance-boy stretch tyre look, so i am super happy that they fit with a reasonably nice fitting tyre. I can’t even fit my pinky between the guard and trye when the suspension is under load. I’ll get some better pics when I get the car back, as I put the old rims back on while it’s in the workshop. The one major thing that bugs me with the 3-piece Meisters is the lack of a centre cap option… i have found both 3d printed and billet aftermarket options, so watch this space..
  2. No, they are 9.5” +11 (rear) and 9.0” +18 (front)
  3. So I ended up running the 235/40/18 on a 9” and a 255/35/18 on a 9.5” rim. The RS4 (or Z232 as referred to in NZ) seems to be a wide tyre. They are definitely wider than my old Falkens. The pic above shows that they sit relatively square with a very minor stretch (in my opinion anyway).
  4. Wheel and tyre fitment is perfect: There is no poke and we loaded up the suspension to confirm that there is also no rubbing on the guards.
  5. Yes, which makes me a little concerned re. fitment.. nothing some camber arms can’t fix..
  6. Wheels and tyres have been picked up. I went with Hankook RS4, with a 235/40/18 (front 9” rim) and a 255/35/18 (rear 9.5” rim). and for those worried about stretch, the tyres sit reasonably square, with very minor stretch: Fitting the Haltech TPMS was a pain in the ass. I ended up sending the external sensors back, as they were big and ugly. However, the internal sensor air valve stem is a slightly larger diameter than the hole in the barrel (by like 1ish mm). So for now I’m parking it and that can be future me’s problem. Car is still in the fab shop. I will take the wheels for a test fit tomorrow/Friday.
  7. For me the cost of R35 coils including bracket was actually cheaper (and easier) than sourcing genuine OEM units. Splitfires seem to be around $700 and the cost of R35 kit was approx $1000 (on special). I assumed that a newer coil would be better for spark and provide headroom for future power increases.
  8. If you have an aftermarket ECU then 100% as above go R35 coils. there’s probably a couple of simple questions like: - What are the other mods? - when we’re the spark plugs changed? - what type of spark plug and what gap?
  9. Not sure sorry, I’m not familiar with Link. I suggest downloading the wiring diagram for your exact ECU and start mapping everything out to a pin. As noted above, things like a CAN keypad will save inputs. This will tell you if you need to consider expansion modules, external DBW driver etc. be careful, as some pins may be DBW specific or some may not be suitable for temp sensors etc. or maybe Link do that better than Haltech..
  10. It appears so... I run Haltech, so I’m not familiar with link ecu.
  11. Wiring is pretty simple. The pedal and the throttle wire directly to the ecu. Remember you’re removing the aac and tps, so should free up some I/O at the ECU At the same time. the pedal is essentially 2x tps sensors. It has 2x 5v, 2x signal ground and 2x signal wires. The 5v and signal ground can be common. So 4 wires total. the throttle is essentially the same but with 12v stepper motor wires. also remember that there is some re-routing of coolant hoses under the plenum when doing DBW. Check my build thread for info if you need.
  12. To be fair. It doesn’t matter which pedal you go with, as long as it bolts up. The software manages the rest. just check the compatibility of a GTR pedal into a GTT and you’re away
  13. Correct. All you need is the pedal pad. I can’t confirm if the accelerator pedal fits the GTT, but I assume it would. A quick google search shows that the pedal pad should at least fit.. send Stefan (owner of iee) a message, he’s really good to deal with and may have been asked before.
  14. I went with the Outsider Garage adaptor with 350z/350gt pedal. My recommendation would be the iee unit.
  15. Nice! I’m yet to get my car with the new DBW setup tuned but already is definitely worth it! Check out www.iee.nz they have dbw pedals that fit stock location and stock pedal pads for that true OEM fit, he also has the right size rubber grommets to fill the cable hole. I wish I found them before I went the 350z pedal with adaptor route… are you keeping the factory oil/water heat exchanger?
  16. It gets it from the gearbox, but you have the ability to calibrate it. There’s some wizardry with gear and diff ratios and rolling circumference of tyres.
  17. The speedo would not be an issue for me, as I have the haltech elite 2500 plus the IQ7 dash.
  18. Thats the one! I have never been a fan of utes, however the thought of the raptor does tickle the pink bits slightly.. seems to have the right mix of fun and practicality.
  19. I know.. trying to find the balance here… if I want to track it then I’d get some track rims and tyres anyway.
  20. I didn’t even know it was on… not sure I’ll make it.. I see your car for sale? What’s your plans after the sale?
  21. I have driven them before but decided against driving this one, as I knew as soon as I’d drive it I’d be emotionally attached haha. It was a Nardo Grey one, very nice. my only concern is it would be my work car (I’m a civil engineer) and it would just appear too flashy when I show up to site etc.… my other thought is the ranger raptor. The GR Corolla would have been sweet, as I can just say I drive a Corolla haha
  22. A bit of weld porn: I decided to modify the hypergear dump pipe (that came in the kit), as I wanted the dump to step up to 3.5” diameter at the wastegate merge, to minimise any flow restriction (albeit very minimal restriction at my current power levels). exhaust should be done next week.
  23. More like $3.5k in NZD cheapest I can get the diff is out of otaku garage in AU for like $1800nzd shipped, plus taxes etc plus install. This is installed in the existing housing (ie not buying one for a same day swap in/out exercise) cusco is about the same.
  24. Yes, GTR tax is increasing exponentially at the moment… I’ll have a look and see what I can find. If I did go a GTR item I would want a full rebuild on it too..
