My car was playing up so bought the box to do the change. Removed the old box, and found that the Clutch/Pressure plate was rubbing together - This was making me think the grind noise was from the gearbox. _ Its not, i re used my old box, now this one im selling is taking up garage space. The 5speed gearbox, is missing a Speedo sensor, but can be aquired from a wrecker or use one from your old box. Has a short shifter gear lever fitted (not cut down), legit kit. I am located at Springfield. but can deliver the gearbox on bris-southside region... possibly for an extra fee ($10 or so) Call anytime, phone on 24-7 Also will giveaway with this box -- used 2nd hand clutch and pressure plate. Also have a flywheel that will need machining. ---- These parts are as a guess at 30-40% good. It will get your car going, but wont last too long... a few months depending on your drive-ability (keep in mind that the clutch may rub) I used to still drift with how the clutch problem was... Ok, (as short as posible) Ill possibly be wanting a new clutch, Money is pretty tight with bills and 2x kids... and the missus. I have been told that a Clutch from a Nissan patrol will bolt straight in. As in a standard one. Being the clutch is designed for a heavy'er use (2t + ) and the skyline is lighter, It is classed as a heavy duty clutch for the skyline ----(rb20det/r32) Yes / No ? (was told this and given a good price for it from Slacks Creek Brake & Clutch in Brisbane (Slacks creek) Id love to go get a brass button ... but money wont allow me to Ta

This redline stuff.. Is it ok to mix with stand box-oil ? Im sure the box is 2L ..? so if i mix 50/50 ... 1L of redline, and hte other with gearbox oil.. that ok ? or would you get the full effect if it was 100% redline ? (that redline stuff is pricey !)

Ok, played more today Found that the alloy radio had a fair bit of crap still in it I have removed that and put a stock one back in. With thermo attached. Now it doesnt get above half.... Yet to test on track. Im thinking of going back to clutchfan and shroud (i need a new shroud). I have 2 thermo fans setup.. i done the same to my ole RX7 and that thing never ever got hot. (one on front pushing air, one on the rear sucking air) I know it takes that little bit longer to warm up. Anyhow, after using acid to flushout/soak the radiator(s) i found that even more brown crap came out. After a reverse-flush with garden hose that is. Afterwards i used acid, and caustic soda (lean mixture) and then Battery acid. (advised these are the best to use by a helpful fella at Radiator shop @ Archerfield). The acid removed quite alot of more crap. that the standard flushing wouldnt use.

Thanks for fast reply.. Pulled out thermo stat. Seems good, although i didnt take car for a drive with no thermostat installed. I tested it with boiled water from kettle and it opend up ect.. Re-installed it and went for a run... Im pretty sure its a blocked up radiator as its a 2nd hand one... was fitted just over a week ago (and hte problems were there from then in a way) Whats it cost for a professinal flush/clean ? Im located southside of Brisbane so any advice on where to take it to ? (i know its cheaper if i pull it out of the car)

Ok, When driving after 30mins or so. Either highway or backstreets (probly more highway, strangely) The car will heat up, according to the temp gauge. I have an alloy radiator, with a thermo on the back. No stock clutch fan, just thermo and it runs 100% of the time. The other crappy fan on the front of the a/c cooler is also fitted. When i drive on the highway 80km/h or less it sits about half way.. 100km/h+ it will rise. 100 it slowly rises, 110km/h it rises much faster .... Any ideas ?.. I was thinking just the temp. switch but really not sure. I come to this thought because while on the highway and it is 3/4+ on the gauge, i put car in neutral and switch off. The turn it back on straight away (after engine stops) and the gauge is half way again. ?? When at 3/4 temp, and i stop the car the overflow bottle does NOT seem to be boiling or getting water pumped into it. Had the same problem with clutch fan, which is why i went to the thermo. But still has a bloody overheat problem I have flushed the radiator twice. fitted a thermo and it runs all the time when ignition is on. just at the higher revs it seems to heat up quicker (3200rpm or higher) Any thoughts ?.. (was thinking of taken it to red devil radiators or somewhere.. as in take entire car there, but really tight on funds atm)

Its a tap type. This is the current setup If i open the tap, then it seems ok (to hold 9 psi 'ish) Close it a little, it spikes as seen on video, and hold 7-9 psi.... and when the pressure drops, i back off and floor it again, the pressure spikes again to abotu 12-14psi (see attached)

Thanks for heads up... camera didnt really get the full sound.... Its a "re-chipped" ecu --- so fuel/boost cuts are removed, and maps slightly adjusted. the wastegate flutter , i was being an idiot.. lol but thanks, going to get my mech to check the timing..

Which manifold ?? I'd think the intake manifold, where it bolts to the head, or where the top an botom manifold bits meet ?.. There the only 2 I can think of

Ok, auto r32 gtst pretty stock 1.Now when i boost, there is a loud spooling noise. Starting to think its a manifold leak.. would it be intake or exhaust ? cause the standard boost gauge reads +5-+7 .. this noise comes on with or without boost controller. (after searching, it maybe a manifold leak. Can i test this myself? im farily mechanicly minded too, but dont want to pull the whole stupid thing apart.) --- also... 2.I seem to have a major lag problem.. No matter what gear(auto remember) or speed,, between 2500-3800 rpm, the car seems to loose power when i use the throttle 30%-90% .. It comes good past the 3500 area, but most of (normal) driving is in the range of 2500-3800 for me, see the problem? Im not sure if its a tuning problem(timing) or something else. I can hold it in gear (eg 2nd, with the hold-gear-button) and boost it .. the boost gauge reads +5 or whatever, and you hear the turbo(1st problem) however the car seems to slow a fraction then slowly gains speed. If i allow it to drop back a gear or 2, it laggs (normal for an auto i guess) then takes off as i think it should- because dropping a gear or to the rpm is higher then 3500 I know its a 2nd hand car, 10yr old ect... but really starting to get to me.. please help (a noobie)

ok, i think i may have found the prob... maybe I removed Boost controller, and it peaks at +7 and drops back to +5 ish.. could be cause by boost spike ??? -- or the fact my car it auto ? it gets up and goes, just seems very laggy from accelerating to car powering away..... also i am probly comparing this car to my ole series 5 RX7 .. Is the laggyness normal for an auto to behave this way?

rb20det, gtst r32 auto When cold, everything seems fine. Boosts and speeds away.. (+6 - +7 on gauge) once warm/ been running a while. The boost goes up, and you can hear the turbo spooling. 1. It does seem to be a louder spool 2. the car lags majorly when you floor it and sometimes wont even speed away (slowly increases speed) and boost gauge reads high (+6 - +7) I did install a boosts controller, and have turned it fully off until i fix this prob. Now i had to remove the intake pipes to/from intercooler to get to the actuator (small) hose. im 99.99999% sure i have refitted and tightend all clamps. - i even double checked mainly there when warm, could it be a crack in the manifold / pipes ?? (everyting in the car is fairly stock) I have sprayed varios connections of the joins with carby-cleaner and it makes no change. i know its probly an obvious solution, but cant think atm. any thoughts would be good. - oh, i even had a mate stand next to engine bay however, i cant boost the car enough unless it under load. Any simple way to find leaks? (it also has stock bov)

(it was faulty plugs) So these are now an excess, and dont want to clog up space.
